Yang Kee Noodle

Went for lunch on Sunday afternoon and ordered the honey bourbon chicken. There was only 6 small cubes of chicken, 1 small scoop of rice and it was $ 8.75. I left hungry and had to make food when I got home. The service was friendly but I will not return because the portions are too small for the price.

I ordered the pad Thai. The tofu is fried and hard to chew. There was too much garlic and salt. The sauce is a watery consistency. Anyone who has had REAL pad Thai knows it is not watery. I told the manager and had them make me new one and asked not to fry the tofu. The pad Thai was still watery and salty and had no peanut taste whatsoever. Safe to say I will never be coming back here.

I’m a fan of the Yang Kee noodle concept, so when a friend told me about a new location near her place in Middletown, I was game to check it out!
The space is even more open than the location in Oxmoor, and includes outdoor seating, which is perfect to take advantage of as the weather warms up. This location features menu screens and the same menu items at the Oxmoor location. Sidle on up and place your order, and grab a number (not a colored flag like at the other location). After a brief wait, your food is delivered to the table.
I went with a pick 2 this time, and enjoyed a lunch portion of the Sesame Pork as well as a side item. It was just the right size for a lunch serving, seasoned and cooked well, and hit the spot for my fast casual lunch that day.

The McD’s of asian food and they do it better than Panda. We like Panda too, but YKN is tops. The reg: Firecracker PORK, 911, add kung pal chilis. EEK!

Favorite lunch spot when I am at work good value and nice variety to choose from. The food that is hot a) so has flavor not just heat.

Had the Tom Yum Soup and a Create Your Own Stir Fry… let me start by saying this was more food than I needed… I left stuffed to the gills. I also added a drink bringing my total to about 18 bucks.
The soup was great. Came to the table piping hot and all of the vegetables and shrimp were perfectly cooked and very tasty. The broth was well seasoned but could have used a little more coconut milk for a more creamy finish. Sadly the white rice that came with the soup had a strange off flavor. There was a slight chemical aftertaste, seeing as I was the first customer of the day I would imagine the first batch of rice from their cooker may have had some reside from being cleaned.
My bowl was equally as enjoyable as the soup. Crispy chicken that was tender and flavorful and vegetables that tasted fresh. I opted for brown rice here and it was tasty and we’ll cooked. The General Tsao’s sauce has the right amout of heat but they were a little liberal with it. I was left with a pool of sauce at the bottom of the bowl and the last few bites were overwhelmed by the sauce.
The star of the show for me was the Filipino Lemonade. A sweet and tart alternative to American Lemonade made from Calamansi fruit. It tastes close enough to lemonade that most can’t tell the difference. But it has a unique twist to it that sets it apart from its lemon based cousin. This is currently tied with the Blood Orange Lemonade from Blaze Pizza as my all time favorite.
The restaurant was very clean and the staff super friendly. Very modern interior with music just slightly too loud (although the song choices were great). Better than the original in my opinion on all accounts. I’ll be back for sure.

The potstickers were good, albeit on the small side. The Lo Mein was listed on the menu as having egg noodles, carrots, onions and napa cabbage in a classic cantonese sauce. However, my dish had no cabbage that I could detect, and a very skimpy portion of carrot and chicken. It literally was a bowl of mostly onions and noodles. Fun!
The interior is bright and lovely — sort of an orangier version of Chipotle, but I don’t come out this way very often and dont think I would make a special trip here again.

If you want to pay a premium for rice and mixed veggies, this is your calling. $ 12 for a General Tso’s dinner bowl and a drink. A tiny, seemingly worthless amount of chicken was placed in my bowl, and very little effort in constructing my meal from the staff as well. The baby corn was still crunchy and undercooked in spots. Go check out Genghis Grill or Noodles & Co. instead. The only highlight was the Thai tea they offered. Pretty damn good.

Second time coming here and both times were horrible. First time they forgot our spring rolls and when they brought them out, they were frozen inside. Second time, my chicken fried rice had TWO bite sized pieces of chicken in it and they served me a spring roll that was busted and black. Not coming back, go to Oxmoor for good food.

First stop at this location and was surprised at the sharpness of the décor very modern and pleasing. Pad Thai was very good a bit oily but good flavor full of tofu and snow peas a little spicy topped with fresh cilantro happy to devour it. Crispy spring rolls very also very good love that dipping sauce. Hot & Sour soup was good as well. Staff was friendly service quick. Happy this local business is going strong. Will frequent often when in Middletown.

I always enjoy Yang Kee Noodle. Good tasting food at a reasonable price! I love the chop chop noodles.

Seems like they’ve gotten their act together. I did a carry out the other day, and the quality of the food has improved dramatically. Portions were appropriate and the taste was outstanding.

Ate dinner here, just trying to grab something quick while running errands.
We’ve been to the Yang Kee at Oxmoor many times, and so we knew what we were getting into here, so ordering was easy.
I usually get the Firecracker Chicken, but opted for th Pad Thai this time. My wife ordered the General Tso’s & my kids ordered Mac-​n-​cheese and the kid’s stir fry. Everybody enjoyed what they ordered.
Pricing is mid-​range, food hangs out there, too. There’s nothing bad about Yang-​Kee, but nothing extraordinary either. If you’re looking for asian food for the family, it’s affordable & easy. Service is quick, tables are usually clean enough. I’ll go 1 – 2 times a year if it’s convenient, but I don’t seek it out.

To go order: pot stickers n teriyaki chicken with noodles.
Meal experience: very good, chicken was not to well done and was juicy. Noodles and co, on point and not overly sauced. Pot stickers where a treat, I think they here pork and was pan cooked it appeared.
Venue: quiet busy during lunch time rush but staff appears to keep up and push through to get orders out on time. Very nice layout/​organization of space, nice lighting and wall paint and opened ended view of kitchen gives you a great idea on how speedy this team is. Smells delicious in here, so good~~~~
Time: 12:12 pm to order…12:22 I had my order in hand. That was pretty dang fast!
Take Out/​Lay Out:
Drink cup is flimsy… Easily bent or could spill. Chicken/​noodles where in a nice plastic contain (not reusable), pot stickers where in a styrofoam container. I one handed carried the order in a plastic bag provided, and surprisingly enough nothing leaked out: so they give sturdy take out orders, minus that cup.

Food is bland and really greasy, not going back, there is better Asian food right next door!

Got a lunch bowl of Chicken LoMein. Lots of oil… i mean lots of oil. Had a metallic flavor. Think I’ll stick with Ling Ling… much better value for the money and it doesn’t taste like I at at Valvoline.

I wrote a review for this place mainly criticizing their efficiency. Now I’m so happy to be able to update that review to a positive one! They have improved significantly in the past few weeks! The wait for your food is very short now and they also manage to keep the food tasting great.

Food was good but waited 20 mins for my food and that seemed to be the norm for others. If you go, be prepared to wait.

We were shopping in the neighborhood and we were looking for something fast to take home. Driving by and noticed a new Yang Keep Noodle just opened. The fountain Thai iced tea was a nice touch. It is passable but not great. The Filipino Lemonade is better. We got the Pad Thai and Bourbon Chicken. Both were good for take out food. Over all a good stop if you are looking to grab some food and go just do not be in too much of a hurry as I had to wait 10 minutes on my order…

They need to work the kinks out. We waited 30 mins and then our food was wrong.
Tons of employees but only one person ringing people’s orders in.
We’re huge Yang Kee fans… really hope this one gets up to the high standards that have been set with the Oxmoor location.
