Dave and Amy were amazing! Amy has an immense knowledge of mixology and is fun to chat with. The tour with Dave was a blast. I learned a ton and had a ton of fun. What a fun guy. The vodka and gin are amazing… heck…everything I tried was amazing. I LOVE this place. I will be back often! You really need to come hang out here.

Used a Groupon coupon to take a Saturday evening tour of the facility. Our guide was friendly and informative. I highly recommend the black Walnut bourbon, rye whiskey, spiced rum… Just about everything tastes great! The chai Manhattan is wonderful! Can’t wait to come back!

Sometimes the planets align and you happen to find something that you didn’t even know you were looking for.
After a particularly grueling (okay who am I kidding, it was an incredibly epic journey) day of visiting some of Colorado’s finest breweries, I was feeling a tad beer-​ed out. Having spotted the sign for Dancing Pines from down the street, I thought «why not see what they’re all about.» What a fortuitous discovery, Dancing pines immediately won me over with their interesting liquors and innovative cocktails featuring them prominently.
The tasting room is cleaner and more refined than some other distilleries I’ve visited, and in the evening we found ourselves pretty much with the whole place to ourselves. As such, we got to enjoy the bartender’s undivided attention, and we were able to learn a bit about what makes them so unique from a cordial and enthusiastic guy. This family-​run business creates small batches of high caliber liqueur, using whole ingredients and never any extracts, leading to intense flavors you can really taste.
We opted for both the sampler and a «Dancing Tiki» cocktail, and I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth the Black Walnut bourbon, brûlée, and chai liquors were. The cocktail too was a big hit. I could see swinging by with some regularity to meet up with friends for a cocktail after work if I lived nearby. At $ 8 per drink they are a steal, each one boasting immense flavors on par with any craft cocktail lounge. I immediately began picturing all the uses for their liqueurs in our home cocktail cabinet, although I knew it was unrealistic to bring back too many bottles when we already had an ample supply of beer to take home with us. I was bummed to learn they don’t distribute to Florida yet, so for now, the only opportunity I had to purchase a bottle was directly from them. We ended up going with the chai, because I thought it would pair well in many different types of drinks, and because it was unlike anything else I’ve tried anywhere. As an extra bonus, when you buy a large bottle, they comp your drink — which I always appreciate when wineries do, but I hadn’t yet seen this applied to distilleries. An excellent marketing idea!
Dancing Pines is producing some truly high caliber liqueurs and I strongly suggest locals and tourists alike make their way to visit them in Loveland.

I went to the Dancing Pines location in Estes Park on a whim with my fiancé and was blown away. I assumed that a new distillery making so many kinds of spirits would be sacrificing quality for variety, and I had low expectations when I walked in the door. I could not have been more wrong.
We were greeted by a very enthusiastic and knowledgable staff member and decided to try a flight of four spirits (Chai Liqueur, Spiced Rum, and two small batch whiskeys). Before we’d even tried any of them they threw in an additional sample of their vodka for free. I am not a rum or vodka fan and my fiancé doesn’t drink whiskey, but both of us loved all 5 of the spirits we tried. The bartender (for lack of a better word) told us about how each of them was made and gave us a brief history of each type of liquor.
The atmosphere in the shop was also great. Comfortable chairs, very clean and nice modern décor. I was so impressed that I hoped to return when they reopened on Monday (they also make several mixed drinks which we were not able to try this time), but their short winter hours mean that we’ll have to wait for our next trip to Estes for another visit. All of their spirits are available for purchase in large and small bottles and, for the quality, all are VERY reasonably priced.
Overall, I can’t recommend Dancing Pines highly enough. Anyone visiting Estes Park with an appreciation for fine spirits should not miss this one!

They are only a couple years old, and have plenty of room to grow, and they will because they are doing a fine job already. The focus is on terrrior. They mill and mash the grain right there. The tasting room is a nice place to chill, and they offer both flights and cocktails. The rum, and the gin were our favorites. You can really taste the earthy grain in the whiskeys too. The scotch didn’t really register and scotch, but that can be overlooked. They also make liquors. You should make a trip out and have a taste.

So, this place looked very nice. The selection looked good and the specials seemed very interesting. I really wanted to try their version of the Mule, however, on a very busy Saturday afternoon, only 1 person was working at the bar, and it was packed. Needless to say, after 20 minutes and no service and people backed up at the bar, we left. I would have loved to try their cocktails, but it never happened. I will try again though.

DP is a great craft distillery. They offer free tours and tasting every day and it is very informative and tasty. The location is great and the bar menu is filled with many exotic and creative drinks using their flagship liqours. The rum is very good but the gin is to die for!

Love this place. The owners are so friendly and inviting. I love their new tasting room that recently opened. If you are a first-​timer, definitely make a point to go on the tour. You will not be disappointed! It’s free (ummm…good price!) and includes four tastings at the end. They will happily sell you a cocktail prior to the tour, which you can take with you as you listen to the process of making DP liquors. Really neat space (ask questions about the paintings and various decorations — most of them have neat stories) and delectable booze to boot! Can’t wait to see the folks at DP again soon!

Great drink, very friendly people and lots of free drink. The only downer is that they are only open saturday.

Stop 3 and yowza! This was a great spot. I am glad that this was on the stop and also conveniently across from another brewery (will get to that later). I had nevery heard of DP before and I am happy to say that I am glad we were introduced. I feel like we are BFF’s now. I didn’t try any of the gin or rum that they produced (not really a fan of those). So instead I ordred a Brulee Liqueur on the rocks. That was some of the tastiest stuff that I think I have ever had. I also had a sip of the Chai which I didn’t like very much on it’s own. Someone bought a bottle of it, and later that night after we got home mixed it with something else and it was much better.
I am still kicking my self that I didn’t but a bottle of the Brulee while I was there. I guess another trip is in my future… :)

I love their booze! We discovered them a couple of years ago at a wine festival, and after several trips back to their booth we decided to buy a bottle for our weekend. When we took a brewery tour up north a few weeks ago, we knew we had to include them.
Two words. Chai Liqueur. Holy moley! And once you’ve tried that on it’s own, try mixing it with some of the caramel. Twice.
They have very unique flavors and the liqueurs are well balanced and smooth. This really belongs on your shelf.

It’s cool that there is a fine distillery located just across the street from a great brewery… well cool if you have a DD that is.
Since this was the third stop on our brewery tour I really didn’t need to add any more fuel to the alcohol induced mind melt (not meld) but what’s a little taste gonna hurt right? I tried the rum, the cask rum, the bourbon and the gin and really liked them all. Of the four I think the gin was the standout with a nice roundness to it’s edge without having the overly pine notes that a lot of gins do. Probably have to come back and sample again and maybe pick up a bottle when I hit Verboten to refill my growler. Good stuff Maynard.

When you think small batch distilled products you will still think of the big boys in the distilling industry. Make sure that you always check your back-​yard to see what is there. Dancing Pines is the brainchild of Kristian and Kimberly, and they are making incredible products. The small batch gin is my favorite, but coming a close second is the spiced rum. They make an incredible list of liquors, black walnut, tart cherry, espresso, and their award winning chai. Be sure to pick up a bottle the next time you see them at any liquor store, or stop in on Saturdays for a nice tour and a wonderful cocktail.

Love! Located near Verboten Brewing, we stopped by for cocktails one Saturday evening and were surprised with the chance for a tour and tasting. It’s a sweet little family– run distillery with insanely delicious liqueurs. The chai liqueur is amazing, and we took home bottles of gin & rum. Can’t wait to go back, I love how the craft distillery movement is taking hold in Colorado!

Winter has slowly stretched its long icy fingers across the frozen landscape, enveloping the Rocky Mountains in a cold, icy embrace. The earth is covered in a crisp blanket of snow that is spotted with speckles of graceful Canadian geese. The air is bitter cold, quickly biting bare skin and leaving it pink with sting. There are moments of quiet isolation that hang in this season, when animals are hibernating and you feel like the only warm soul in an arctic terrain.
This is the time of year that influenced the title «Dancing Pines» for the Loveland distillery. It was a blustery blizzard of a night in a halfway renovated mountain cabin that, for a brief surreal moment, unveiled the serenity of pine trees rhythmically swaying in the wind. They seemed to dance in time with the music playing within the cabin. It was a magical winter moment that inspired the creation of a song from wife to husband, and then the name of one of Northern Colorado’s first micro-​distilleries.
It’s really no surprise that this family-​run distillery is experiencing such rapid growth and rabid popularity. They take great care in creating their craft spirits, bottling and labeling by hand, and making small batches using quality raw ingredients — many of them locally sourced. They never use extracts, and when that first sip runs over your lips, you can tell. The flavors are exceptional. They won a Double Gold Medal at the 2011 San Fransisco World Spirits Competition for their Chai Liqueur, and their Brûlée Liqueur received a Silver Medal at the 2011 New York World Spirits Competition.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Dancing Pines Distillery, and I was blown away by how fabulous every spirit tasted. In Northern Colorado, we’ve been major players and supporters in the craft beer industry. I can see the same happening with our micro-​distilleries that are beginning to grow. We certainly have the talent to make it happen.
As the dark nights grow colder, and the glistening ice cycles grow longer, we nestle up in our homes to keep toasty next to roaring fireplaces with Hot Toddies and Egg Nog. It’s a season that inspires deep, rich roasty flavors to keep us warm from the core. The artisan spirits at Dancing Pines are sure to make those isolated frost bitten evenings a little warmer and exceptionally flavorful.
