History

Established in 1983.

Sonco Pools & Spas is a company with deep roots in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. Founders Gary Peterson and Anthony Arco started Sonco Pools & Spas in the early 1980′s when they were looking for a summer activity to entertain their kids while keeping them close to home. After extensive research, the construction of the first «Sonco» swimming pool took place in Anthony’s backyard. The construction took most of the summer and the assistance of every member of the Peterson and Arco families.

The name «Sonco» was created by combining the last names of the founders, Peter (son) and Ar (co). With unmatched attention to detail and the highest level of integrity, Sonco Pools & Spas propelled into America’s Top 10 Pool Builders/​Retailers in 2003. The industry’s top trade magazine, Pool and Spa News, rated Sonco Pools & Spas the #3 Package Pool Builder in America. This honor fills the hearts of the entire company. Sonco is proud to be one of America’s première builders.
