Drum Hill Ford

I would not recommend their service department based on several poor experiences for normal maintenance work. On multiple occasions they have not topped off fluids (which they check off on their checklist as completed) which is part of their package and while that does not add up to big dollars to do on my own it only makes me question the work that is less observable. I sent them a message to explain what happened and that it has on multiple occasions and received no response. I wish the experience was better since it’s a relatively nice service center and is close by but I’m not sold on it being a trustworthy operation. I’d look elsewhere.

I got my first car here. I knew wasn’t sure if I wanted a fiesta or a focus. They took their time showing me the difference between the two and made sure I loved what I got. At the time my credit wasn’t the best because it was just starting. They did everything to make sure I got the car I wanted, at a price I could afford, and make sure my 1^st car buying (we’ll leasing experience) was amazing.
So when I started getting letters about other dealers wanting to buy the rest of my lease I went to check one of them out… Worst experience ever. So I went back to drum hill and asked if they did anything like this and he knew exactly what I was talking about. He asked if there was anything I was thinking about for my next car and showed me the different models of the escape and fusion to make sure I love and get what I want. I’m leaning towards the escape and when they were doing out the pricing for what I’d be looking at for payments noticed I’d get a better rebate and deal in a few weeks. He offered to call me in a few weeks when I’d qualify for every offer possible and I get to walk out with the car I love.
I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone and everyone.

Salesman gave me completely different information then 2 other ford dealerships… (Had to check with another dealer to see which dealer was correct)… Wouldn’t do business with them as it seems they either have different rules for their dealership or just don’t want to do good business.
The salesman didn’t seem real eager to sell a car… Even suggested I purchase the competition I was researching… I’ll be returning to my original dealer (they were closed yesterday but I was interested in completing my purchase yesterday… What’s another day for good service)
When I called to give the GM a heads up today the GM didn’t seem to care in the least… And backed up the salesman’s story. I’d say beware.

I have bought many Explorers and many E250s from Drum Hill Ford. I have had great luck with all of them. Somewhere around 54k miles the transmission in my E250 blew the overdrive apart. I called DH Ford they said tow it in and in 3 days it was back better than ever with ZERO payment!!!

Potential customers beware! I went into the dealership to look at a Jeep Wrangler that had just been traded in. I was informed that it would be an «as is» sale. I took it out for a drive and could tell there were some issues with it. I discussed price with the salesman (jimmy). I told him I wanted to have my mechanic take a look before I made an offer. They allowed me to take it to my mechanic where I found the jeep had a boat load of issues. When I got back to the dealership I sat down with Jimmy where I made a offer of $ 4,000. He said «I don’t think my boss will do if but let me ask» he came back and asked if I’d pay $ 4,500, which I declined and said that my offer was still $ 4,000. Jimmy took my number and said he would call me if they decided to accept my offer.
To my delight Jimmy called me 20 minute later and said the because I was such a great, nice guy that the GM accepted my offer because they knew I was excited about the jeep and they wanted me to have it. He asked me to give a credit card deposit at this time. I was driving so I asked him if I could call back in 5 minutes when I was not driving because I didn’t want to be unsafe. As I was pulling over to call back, Jimmy called me back and said that the GM agreed to sell the jeep to someone else for $ 5,000. I was confused as you can imagine and asked him about the verbal agreement we just made. He said he was sorry and that his GM instructed him to call me back and say that I could no longer purchase the jeep even though we agreed to a deal. I told him that I was very disappointed in the lack of integrity that drum hill ford was showing and that this behavior was bad business (Jimmy agreed with me) I then asked to speak to the GM in which jimmy’s response was «he won’t take your call». So on top of lacking integrity the GM also lacks a back bone. In addition to potentially buying a jeep I was also looking to upgrade my current ford work van (not purchased at Drum Hill Ford) to a bigger ford Connect work vehicle. I can assure you regardless of price I won’t consider Drum Hill Ford as a potential place to purchase.
In conclusion, I would advise any and everyone to steer clear of this place. They are dishonest and will clearly do whatever they can to make an extra buck.

In 2006 I ought my Ford 500 from Drum Hill Ford. Now, 2015 it has 100,000 miles on it with just about all the service at Drum Hill. It has always been cheap to repair, all recalls taken care of too, and they price matched tires that I wanted. I can think of no «overselling» where they tried to add services I did not need, just straightforward taking care of business.
In 2013 I bought a F-​350 diesel truck from them. All service has been straightforward with zero problems. I have waited 2 days for service but never more.
I like these folks. I spent 23 years as a mechanic, foreman, and service manager in the Boston area and I know about cars and what I want in terms of service. I am totally satisfied with Drum Hill Ford for service.
As far as sales is concerned… meh. They really don’t get internet sales and I wouldn’t bother with them. Like all dealers that do it wrong they just try to get you into the dealership. I have worked with excellent ‘internet dealers– Marlboro Nissan comes to mind. I had interest in a vehicle there and they offered to drive it to my place of work 35 miles away so that I could road test it at my convenience, and if I chose to buy they would complete the whole deal by coming to me and delivering to my driveway. You won’t get that out of Drum Hill Ford.
One thing I will tell you about Drum Hill sales– I almost bought a used truck from them– signed the paperwork and left a deposit and then decided not to buy. I went back and asked for my money back which MA allows for 3 days after a sale. They said to me «Is it the price? because we can do better. I concluded that the deal is never done with them and if I ever buy from them again (maybe) I will do a reneg on the sale– buy it, refuse it, and see how much I can improve my deal. A little scummy in my book.

I had a Ford F-​350 with a 9 Ft Plow brake down 3 hours prior to Drum Hill Ford closing and the day of a snow storm. When I called parts I was connected to a gentleman named Steve. He took the VIN and located the parts which I was able to pick up at a local supplier prior to them closing.

GOT SWINDLED! Don’t let it happen to you! The gm was so nice at first but once you buy a car from them and they got your money they all turn into serious jerks! rude, rude, rude! Make sure you do your research on the car you want before buying because they will give u a lot of b. s! The salesman did not even have an info on the car I was looking at! I ended up purchasing a 2014 Ford Escape and I am extremely unhappy with it! I have had problems with the car already. It is really a piece of junk and when I asked them to help me they brushed me off and told me I would take a huge loss on my car, I drove it 30 miles. They didn’t care to help at all. DO NOT LET THEM FOO. YOU LIKE THEY DID TO ME WHEN THEY WERE SO NICE AND HELPFUL IN THE BEGINNING THEN ONCE THE CAR WAS BOUGHT I WAS TREATED HORRIBLE. Do not go here!

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I was very excited to buy a brand new suv as my car was on it’s last leg. I did my research and found a competitively priced Edge at Drum Hill Ford that I wanted to check out. I test drove it, fell in love, and was 100% upfront that I was waiting for some money to come in then I would purchase. The Sales team convinced me that I had to sign paperwork in-​order to lock in the price. I was under the impression the paperwork (which I later found out was a contract) was contingent on my money coming in which was supposed to be a few weeks. They also advised that I needed to put down a deposit to keep the car on hold. I asked if the $ 500 was refundable and they said it was, so I agreed.
Needless to say the money did not come in when it was supposed to so I contacted the dealership to get out of the deal. This is when things got horrible! They said I couldn’t get out of the deal, and they had submitted all of my paperwork to financing and I was already being billed for a car I didn’t even take possession of (how is this even legal)!!!
After many many back and forth phone calls the Owner alleged that he would make the first car payment and if the money didn’t come in by the second month then I could back out of the deal. I asked for this in writing and he said he was ‘insulted.’ Well I should have known better because of course he didn’t make the payment as promised and my credit was now at risk due to a missed payment on a car that I didn’t even have!!!
I contacted the dealership for the 1,000^th time and told them I wanted out and my attorney would be contacting them, finally they said ok, but that I couldn’t get my deposit back. Remember this was the deposit that was «100% refundable.»
So good for them, they kept my $ 500, I’m just glad I NEVER have to deal with them and I didn’t buy a car with a 5 year contract through that place full of pathetic liars.

Absolutely would NOT recommend Drum Hill Ford! I had been doing some online shopping for quite sometime and got an online price quote from them. After telling them what my needs were through about 2 weeks worth of emails they assured me that they had talked to the finance team and that they could help me. I asked them specifically if they were sure because I lived more then 2 hours away and didn’t want to waste anyone’s time. They were given my pay off amount and the make of my trade through all of these emails so when I got down there I was very annoyed by the fact that they low balled me on my trade by at least $ 1500. Then the sales guy was blaming everyone… the internet team didn’t know what they were doing, it wasn’t his fault that I owed on my car, the low price was because my vehicle had a V8. I told him that dealerships usually give women a hard time and treat them with disrespect and I wasn’t one to put up with it.
My advice…
Stay clear of Drum Hill Ford!

Coming from a «Ford Family» my family and myself have purchased and have had several cars maintaned at this dealership since the early 80’s.
We have never had major problems with any of our cars and the sales process is always as smooth as it possibly can be. I’ve had my Taurus serviced here for years and now I bring my MKZ here.
Never have to make an appointment for service and even when busy, they still manage to get me in and out in a reasonable time. I really like thier «report cards» that they do every time you go in for a car check up. The information gives you adequate time to plan for the expensive jobs, such as tires or brakes.
Over 110,000 on the odometer and running like when I bought it 80,000 miles ago. I have full faith that Ford will make another 100,000 a breeze.
Little shock that Drum Hill Ford has been the highest rated Ford dealer since 1997.

Very impressed with the service department and their willingness to work with me. They got my car up and running very quickly, and for a reasonable price. I will definitely be using them again.

I bought a new Ford Explorer from Drum Hill Ford approximately 14 months ago. Unfortunately, Ford had issues with the computer on board (My Ford Touch). I bought this car specifically for the technology, so was less than thrilled when it didn’t work as advertised. I repeatedly took the car back for service to attempt to get this fixed, but it just was never able to be fixed. I filed Lemon Law, and Ford bought back my car and gave me a new one, which I am picking up tomorrow. (by the way, I LOVE the car, just way too many frustrating issues with the technology on board).
Everyone at Drum Hill was SUPER helpful. From Alan Randal, who I”m sure will be thrilled to not hear from me anymore, to Lissa, my salesperson, to Amy who handled the buy back with Ford and all the paperwork that went on endlessly for a month… In fact, I am pretty sure that Alan’s persistence helped me a great deal in getting this taken care of with Ford.
I never would guess I would ever write a rave review for a car dealership, because my experiences with auto dealerships have been less then stellar in the past. But these guys have been amazingly helpful and pleasant to deal with from the purchase of the car to dealing with the issues I had with the defective technology to the replacement.
I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a Ford.

I have to say I had a great experience at Drum Hill. I bought a used car from them and it really was surprisingly pleasant. Lissa, the online sales manager, was unbelievably helpful and kind. I had relayed that speed was really at a premium for me as I had to get in and out quickly and they had me test drive the new car, assess the value of my trade in, sell me the new car — all in under 2 hours which has to be some kind of record. Bob (I think that was his name — one of the co-​owners of the dealership) was super nice and they just all made it so easy. There was another manager Steve who actually did the price negotiation and he was also kind, earnest and transparent which had me actually enjoying a task I typically hate (buying a car). All in all, I was very happy and would recommend Drum Hill Ford to anyone who needs them…

I went to the dealership after seeing a truck on line. Upon arrival I realized I wasn’t too interested but they had just put a truck on the lot that was traded in the week before (hadn’t even been put on line yet). I purchased a used 2008 Ford F350 Super Duty with 30,000 miles on it. The salesperson (an Iraq and Afghanistan Vet) was great. They showed me a Car-​Fax and book value and with little hassle we agreed on a price below book value. They threw in a full tank of gas (unusual on a used vehicle) and new all weather floor mats. I then met the owner of the dealership who thanked me for the purchase who mentioned that the vehicle had been owned by a customer who buys a new F350 every three years and was religious about servicing the vehicle at his dealership. I had a follow up question about the vehicle and called their service department and sure enough all recalls had been performed and all maintenance had been performed by them. They offered to delivery the vehicle to my home in Topsfield, which was very nice of them in my opinion. I didn’t finance through them as the FORD MOTORS FINANCE COMPANY’s rate was a bit high considering my credit score — but I don’t blame the dealership for that. My closing was at a credit union in Danvers and they sent a runner from the dealership to have me sign their paperwork and pick up my additional deposit. It’s unfortunate that others have had negative experiences here — just goes to show how even one or two under performing employees can effect an experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back in the future.

I’ve been casually shopping for a new car for several months. I went to more than a half dozen different dealerships, and was met with the same scenario: 1) Either you’re completely ignored as if you weren’t even in the building (most of the time), or you were pounced upon by some creep who looked like the Creature from the Black Lagoon.
Lissa Lagasse was my salesperson here and I will honestly say that it was a very pleasant experience. She was helpful, but not pushy. Well informed, but not arrogant. She was just very pleasant to deal with overall. In fact, after looking at Fords, Chryslers, Land Rovers and Minis, I chose to buy a Ford at this dealership ONLY because of Lissa.
I love shopping for cars as much as I love getting stabbed in the eye by a nail. It’s never a pleasant experience. EVER. I always feel like I’m getting ripped off, taken advantage of, or just dealing with someone who feels like they couldn’t get any other kind of job.
I can’t vouch for Drum Hill Ford (fortunately, I just bought my car and haven’t had any issues), but everyone I dealt with there was more than helpful as well. But Lissa is why I bought the car and why I bought it at this dealership. Be sure to ask for her!

My husband and I were in the market for a car for our daughter and sought out this dealer because we saw a car online that we liked. We visited the dealership on 5÷22÷10 around 10:30am, when we walked in we were ignored by everyone including the salesperson sitting at the first desk on left, he glanced at us and never even said hello but continued to eat his Dunkin Donuts breakfast. My husband said good morning and he wiped his mouth and said hello, I said we’re here to look at a car we saw online and he asked which one and I told him, his response was «yeah that’s gone» and he continued to eat his breakfast. I asked are you sure it’s gone and he said «pretty sure», he made no attempt to even look it up or verify it was indeed gone, instead he yelled across the showroom to someone else who said «I don’t know if it’s gone or not», at this point I asked him if he could go check since we drove 45 minutes to get there and he pushed his chair back and looked quite annoyed.
When he went to look we walked out front and found the car and realized it was pretty beat up for the asking price and I went back in to let him know we found it right out front and it wasn’t what we were looking for and he just replied ok and continued on with his breakfast. With the economy the way it is I am quite shocked that the sales people took no effort to even acknowledge us when we walked in or to offer to show us anything. We took our business another Ford dealership and purchased a beautiful new car, your loss Drum Hill!

I can honestly say, and not to proudly either, that I’ve purchased my fair share of cars. I’m on number 9, and I’m only 28 years old. Three of these purchases were new vehicles (within the current year & no previous owners). So I know the general sales concepts, traps, etc.
This place has left a horrible impression on me, and I wouldn’t recommend doing business with them for your next vehicle purchase.
I started off doing online shopping. I looked to see what they had in stock at the dealership, and what their asking cost was, then I requested a quote (online still). To my surprise, within a few hours, their internet department had sent me a price quote, with rebates. Which was lower than the asking cost on the dealer website, so I set up an appointment to go in and take a look at the vehicle (2008 Ford SpotTrac), test drive it, and get my trade appraised.
Everything was confirmed via email, which I printed (along with the price quote) and took with me for my appointment.
The person I was schedule to see wasn’t even there, at least not that day for my schedule time. So they put me in the hands of someone else, who had no information on me. I got to sit through someone pecking a keyboard to put me into a file… that was the exciting part.
Without taking me to see the vehicle he asked which was I was interested in and what was I trading… which I told him. I currently drive an Eclipse (2006) with decent, but low, miles on it. He walked outside with my keys, walked around the vehicle, then walked back in and sat at the desk in front of me again… to start pecking at the keyboard.
Never got in, started it, nothing. He didn’t even need my keys.
He then ask me what was my monthly cost range… which I’ve learned to never give them…
This was a dumb moment on my part… but I gave it to him (I was really excited about the car… sorry).
Again, keyboard punching commenced. Remember, I’ve yet to see the vehicle I was schedule to see.
Finally, he stops typing, lays a piece of paper in front of me and explains that they can’t meet my monthly payment request and I’d need to pay an additional $ 100 a month if I wanted to drive off and make a deal. Which didn’t make me happy to hear, but I figured — you start high, then work low… right?
So we start going over the numbers. The cost of the Ford was higher then I planned, so I showed him the quote emailed to me earlier that day, to which he replied «That is only for online purchases».
Excuse me?!? First, the email didn’t say that, and the website doesn’t give an online purchase option. Plus, how can I trade towards the vehicle if I’ve already purchased it online?!?
Then he gets to my car, which was about $ 1500 under blue book cost, and that was for «Good» condition, which I take better than average care of my car (s). When I questioned him on that quote, he said that it was October, and it was too difficult to resale a summer car like an Eclipse.
After he refused to budge on the cost, I grabbed my keys and left. Asked him to remove me from their records, I wouldn’t be dealing with their office for any new car purchase in the future.
A few days later, I get an email from their Internet Branch again, asking me how my appointment went. I didn’t polish it any, and told her how I felt about the service I received. And got a reply, «Sorry we couldn’t find you a vehicle you were interested in.»
Ummm… you had one I wanted, and was willing to sign for the same day! It was your sale clerk that ruined it.
Seriously if you HAVE to have a Ford, contact me first, I would rather pay the gas to drive you to a different dealer location then their Drum Hill branch.
