Lowell Day Nursery is a nonprofit, early education child care center accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Accepting children from the age of 15 months up to kindergarten (6 years old), our nursery school has been open since 1885.
History
Established in 1885.
Lowell Day Nursery is a 130 year old preschool with child care. Started by prominent Community Leaders and their wives, we have worked with families from Mill Girls in the 1885 to working women in 2015. We are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and received commendations in all areas. We are part of the «Birth to Grade Three Alignment «and are working with Lowell Public Schools and other preschools in the area to be sure we are all working to give all the children the same education.

Jo-Ann S.
Manager
Jo-Ann Spence was chosen as the 1st National Director of the Year for Excellence in Education in 2012. She began working at Lowell Day Nursery in 1978 and worked with all age groups. While teaching Kindergarten in 1988, she was promoted to Executive Director. Jo-Ann is on the Early Childhood Advisory Council for Middlesex Community College and The Greater Lowell Vocational School. She is also on the Foster Grandparent Advisory Council. Jo-Ann is on the Leadership Council of the Community Partnership Council.
