Yes. I am officially a ‘burbs reviewer now. I went to this Radio Shack because I happened upon it while I was exploring my new town. I usually go to the bigger stores for my technology, but I needed a wireless router, I was out anyway, and I decided to stop in. The sales clerk was alone, but he took a good 10 minutes going through each of my wireless router options, and then looked up each of the ones I liked to tell me which was on sale. At first, he was so nice and helpful, I thought he just might have been trying to flirt with me. Then I realized that I had a baby strapped to me, was covered in spit-up, and had baby poop on my elbow from the morning change. So I had to conclude that he was just a knowledgeable guy who was invested in making sure I got what I needed. I *guess* that’s acceptable…

I have been to this Radio Shack a couple of times in the past year and never had a good experience. The staff are always unhelpful and goofing off. When trying to get their attention, most of them turn away or pretend to be busy. This most recent time, I found what I wanted but I needed someone to go get the boxed unit from the back of the store. There were four employees and the place was nearly empty but I couldn’t get any help. I went to the counter and one was walking away from it but he turned away and started talking on a mobile phone when I approached him. I went back towards the counter and a girl doing nothing there turned away from me when I looked at her, the phone rang just as I was about to say something and she quickly grabbed it. I went towards the girl on the register standing by herself and she too looked away, another customer showed up to give her some information. I believe they already had a transaction in process but she could have had the courtesy to say she was with a customer, not just turn away. The other guy there was sitting on the counter strumming a guitar while helping another customer. I waited around for five minutes for one of them to be available but I got sick of waiting and left. This is basically what’s happened to me other times I’ve been there. I’ve been going to Radio Shacks for many years and they’ve always been too anxious to help. This is the only store I’ve ever had this problem with. If I can help it, I’ll never go back to this store. If you just have to pick up some batteries or cables or anything else you can grab for yourself and know what you need then it’s okay; otherwise, you’re better off going to Drum Hill or any other location nearby.
