What an interesting, peculiar variety of stuff they sell here. Although the store itself isn’t worth a trip out of your way, the little town main street of Lowell is, during regular business hours. This old dime store should be one of your stops on your stroll. It’s mainly a crafts and hobby store, so you can get all sorts of yarn, candies, cheap old fashioned sweatpants and sweatshirts, boardgames and puzzles. You can also get some random stuff, like say you need some styrofoam balls and colored plastic sticks to show your niece some simple Carbon Alkane chain molecules. You can get enough to model Ethane or Propane, but not Butane, Pentane or above. You can also get maple-peanut clusters, but as the Chief of Staff found out, not peanut clusters without the maple(apparently that makes them ewwwww). We got a good deal on old fashioned Christmas tree lights, but passed on the«paint a bull» kit which still keeps me up at night, wondering(paint a bull?).

Stepping into this place was like stepping back in time! Very much the style as an old five and dime store… I loved it! Bulk candies, knick-knacks, sewing and craft items… and the highlight… those shoes I’m addicted to! I got a black pair for $ 7.99! They also have a very nice selection of coin collection folders — I found one for my Presidential Dollars! If you ever get to Lowell, take a stroll down their historic Main Street, and stop in at Springrove Variety store, you won’t regret it.
