Clarion Hotel & Conference Center

I stayed here for a weekend to attend a Tech football game. The staff is very nice.
We stayed in a room outside of the main building– a motel like room where our door faced outside. I have a feeling these are the crappy rooms but it is all they had even months ahead of time. These rooms are always very noisy with people walking by then you run the chance of a smoker camping outside your AC unit and all their smoke being sucked into the room. Bleh! The carpet and overall state of the room was pretty gross.
Their workout room was an absolute joke. The equipment is older than me and the room was smaller than a hotel room. My husband and I ended up just running laps around the atrium which turned out to be a nice jog, actually. In the atrium there is a bar/​lounge area and indoor pool.
I gave them 2 stars for the staff and for how nice the atrium was and because I really suspect the rooms in the main building are significantly nicer.

This was our first stay at the Clarion in Lubbock, and I’m sure we will stay here again. The hotel is quite nice, and they appear to be doing some renovations which should increase its visual appeal. The hotel has a large indoor pool, but I did not see a hot tub.
The rooms are large, appear to be clean, and the a/​c worked great. I would encourage house keeping to give a little more attention to detail. When our room was cleaned they did not replenish the soap, or coffee, and they did not empty the trash. When we took a bag out of one of the trash cans it was pretty dirty inside. The beds were made and the linens appeared and smelt clean. It would also be a nice gesture for them to offer 24 hour complimentary coffee in the lobby area.
As I said we will likely stay here again, but hopefully they’ll do a better job in the future of doing the little things that make ones stay better.

The Lubbock Clarion is a place that my flight crew has over-​nighted on several occasions when we were in Lubbock. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are exactly what I would expect in a hotel, and the rates were good for the service. The breakfast is also top rate. This is where we return when we have to stay in Lubbock!
