The Woodhouse Day Spa

I have been to quite a few spas and have to say the Woodhouse Day Spa beats them all!
The atmosphere of the spa is so relaxing, warm and inviting that I would pay to rent the space, just to escape from life. All personnel I came into contact with were very friendly and efficient — and very professional.
The robe they had me change into was so warm and soft, it was like cuddling with a hundred puppies! The waiting room was nice and quiet with a lovely faux fireplace, and they had a wonderful beverage selection (they hot cinnamon tea is wonderful!).
My masseuse was fantastic and definitely made me feel less stressed! This spa may be a little pricier than others in Lubbock, but you won’t get this relaxing and soothing atmosphere anywhere else either. I can’t wait until next month to go back!

I’ve been several times to Woodhouse Day Spa and love the Lubbock location! From massages to mani/​pedis — it’s all been a wonderful experience! The staff is very pleasant and professional while offering a great experience. Even leaving, I can’t wait to book my next visit!

Who would have thought I would receive the best massage thus far in Lubbock, Tx.

My girl, I forgot her name, she’s a body builder, she’s from Miami and she knows what she is doing. Amazing.
Also had a pedicure and Organic facial. Super pleasant and relaxing. Nice facilities! Yummy drinks. Just what we were looking for in a girls day!

I came in for a shellac french tip manicure. I was very disappointed in the quality of the manicure. The lines were sloppy and the texturing was rough. Not only that, they are already peeling after just four days! I get shellac manicures regularly and this was my first time at this spa and it was also the first time they have ever peeled this fast. And I also paid twice what I would pay at a nail salon. I didn’t even get any kind of moisturizer or lotion like the website says… so how was that a manicure? That is very disappointing… you would think for that kind of outrageous price that the manicure would be good quality. I contacted their corporate office… so we will see how they respond.

I love going here, Mike is my favorite massage therapist. Every time I go everyone is always in a happy mood and just the sweetest.

I have family in Lubbock and often get massages while in town. After visiting Woodhouse Day Spa after my last trip I will never go to them again. Elizabeth was my therapist and she was awful. First she seemed to be in a hurry during my whole massage. I could not relax during my whole service. Next I asked if she could use less pressure on my back because it was painful and she brushed me off and just kept doing it. She also was complaining about her job to me, I understand we all have our bad days but I am a paying client trying to relax. To top it all off at one point I saw her pull her phone out. Completely unprofessional. I will never return to Woodhouse Day Spa. The next time I am in town I will take my business elsewhere.

One of the better spa options in town. Get there early and relax in the gorgeous «quiet room.» Love the call and text reminders about your appointment. The online booking can be difficult, I would recommend just calling in to schedule a service.

I LOVE the Woodhouse Day Spa in Lubbock. All of the ladies there are very nice and professional. The services are top quality. You feel so refreshed after leaving. You feel treated with respect and dignity.
I went there a few days before my wedding recently and all of the staff was so kind, caring, and considerate.

This is my monthly retreat. My favorite treatments are the Brightening Facial and the Woodhouse Escape, which includes body scrub, hot stone massage and wild lime scalp, neck and shoulder massage. For something a little different, I would recommend a Vichy shower treatment — uniquely refreshing and the only spa in town that offers it. I absolutely love the staff and have a consistently fantastic experience every time!

I moved to Lubbock 2 months ago and was due for my regular Brazilian wax. Like the previous girl said, you can’t risk getting a bad Brazilian so I decided to go here since it looked nice and professional.
I really liked the place and the staff. It has a very relaxing armosphere, the waiting room is wonderful, everything is clean and you begin to feel pampered as you wait.
Unfortunately, my service was pretty bad. I mentioned to everyone (the receptionist when I made the appointment, I noted it on the sheet you fill out, and I let my technician know) that I have sensitive skin and soft wax makes me bleed.
We were doing alright, except that the wax was too hot. She used soft wax for the easier areas and hard wax for the most sensitive ones. Then, as she tried to clean up in the end, she used soft wax where she wasn’t supposed to, and I just felt the burn.
When she left me alone to get dressed, I noticed that there was a lot of hair left… Why do you pretend to clean up with tweezers if you’re not going to take it all off? Also, I found this very rude and unprofessional: she made me bleed! Of course, she made no mention of it or even apologized. But there I was, left with torn, raw skin and patches of hair.
I expected a much better service for what they charge and for the image they portray. I was paying a lot less at European Wax Center in Houston, and they ALWAYS did an excellent job. I don’t trust Woodhouse for their wax services, they’re a mess. I would have liked to love this place :(

Okay, this review is for their waxing service only. If you don’t mind a little TMI, read on…
I needed a Brazilian and very few salons in Lubbock offer the service. I decided to go with Woodhouse because it’s one of the nicest (most expensive) in Lubbock and you just don’t wanna risk going the cheap route with a Brazilian. I also hadn’t had one in a while so I knew it was going to be painful. I asked for their most experienced waxer. I get there and the waxer is probably younger than me (I’m 24). She then proceeded to take an HOUR (no exaggeration) to rip the hair out bit by tiny bit. I felt like she had a secret vendetta against me. Or maybe I was her first wax ever, I really don’t know. She used a combination of the soft wax and hard wax and kept (forgetting?) to leave a tab on the hard wax. Then she couldn’t rip the hard wax off in one chunk and ended up breaking it into tiny (excruciatingly painful) pieces to be ripped off. I had the honor of being her first «screamer.» So she finally ended the torture session and left the room so I could dress. I immediately looked and saw that there was still quite a bit of hair. So I asked if I could come in another time for a touch-​up, and she said to go ahead and lay back down and she’d touch it up now. Several times throughout the wax she’d say «this is awkward, but…» and then hold up a mirror, or ask me to reposition, or whatever. How incredibly unprofessional! You’re supposed to make me feel comfortable, not awkward!
Despite the «touchup» I still had a lot of hair (yes I’d grown it out long enough to wax) not to mention a massive area where she broke a bunch of blood vessels. Moreover, it was NINETY FREAKING DOLLARS. I’ve been to European Wax Center back in Dallas a couple of times since and had absolutely no trouble, for half the price.
NEVER AGAIN.

Probably as good as it gets. The place is immaculate, well laid out, looks kind of rustic on the inside, you can’t tell that it is in a large mall area.
My massage therapist was Bonnie, probably the best massage I every had, top of the line, I will definitely return! Sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

So I took my mom here while she was visiting from California bc of the great reviews on Unilocal.We both were wanting Microdermabrasion treatments. Unfortunately they only have one machine so since neither of us wanted to wait for the other, I decided to go with the brightening facial. My girls name was Amy, and she was very gentle. The whole experience was very relaxing. I could tell an immediate change in my moms face, it was brighter and a lot of the dark spots she had faded. What most stuck out was how they massage your hands, arms, and feet as well. We both left feeling very special. It was a great way to spend some time together while being pampered. And now she knows what I want for Christmas

Had a really enjoyable and relaxing time. They offered you red wine, white wine, mimosas, and water before your spa, in between your treatments, and after.

The most relaxing and pleasant spa experience I’ve ever had. The staff were super professional. I didn’t want to leave! Definitely get there 30 minutes prior to on your very first visit like they ask. I won’t electively go anywhere else for a massage.

This was my second visit to this spa. And certainly earned all 5 stars from my most recent visit. This place is very nice, but with massage therapists like David — –it’s a no brainer for this spa to earn 5+ stars…
As a same day caller on a typically busy Saturday afternoon, they didn’t have time for a facial but they could get me in for a last minute 25min massage at 5:30pm.
Let me tell you… it was one of the BEST massages I have had in a very long time!
On to the spa itself… it is in a «nicer» strip mall area. A couple nice stores — –Banana Republic, Sprouts, etc.
But apparently Woodhouse Day Spa is actually a small boutique spa chain. Inside the feel is a very warm, soothing home atmosphere.
The dressing rooms have tasteful décor, and the relaxation room is very calming (that is, unless you have a noisy little bunch of women in the side party room like I experienced). Note to spa-​goers: please be courteous of other patrons trying to relax in the relaxation room. Shhhhhh! :)
The therapy rooms again have tasteful décor. The sheets on the massage table are so soft I think they’re like 1,000-count sheets… ha!
Prices were expected for a spa, $ 50 for 25 min.
The staff is very welcoming and friendly when you walk in. But after my appt the receptionist/​cashier asked how I liked my massage. I said… «David was amazing!!»…
And she said «We get that often».
So there you go… it’s not just me. Everyone else agrees too. Ask for David — you’ll thank me. :)

This is the best spa for miles and miles around! Trust me! Perfect ambiance, amazing products and fantastic professional service. Was worth every penny!

I have been to the Woodhouse Spa twice — once for a facial and once for a massage. Overall both were pretty lovely experiences. The facilities are very nice. They have a nice quiet room with a fire place where you wait for your services and can relax after you receive them. They also offer a wide variety of drinks while you wait including both alcoholic (white wine, red wine, mimosas) and nonalcoholic beverages (a variety of teas, water). The rooms where you receive services are quiet and very nice. The linens are really luxurious and the beds are warmed. I was happy with both of my services.
There are only a few minor things that keep me from giving them a 5-​star review. One — if you are getting a facial they don’t give you a robe to hang out in the quiet room — you just change in the room before your service. This may sound silly, but hanging out in the robe and slippers is one of my favorite parts of a day spa experience. Also, while the quiet room is nice, I’ve been to nicer with more lounge type chairs with blankets so you can really relax and wind down after your service. Also, many day spas have a sauna or steam room in the dressing area and the Woodhouse does not. Still, these are all somewhat minor and do not generally detract from a good experience.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the Woodhouse if you are looking for a nice, relaxing spa experience.
