University Fountains

This place is TERRIBLE. It’s dirty. Spiders fall from the air units on the ceilings. We find beetles in our beds. The utilities are consistently breaking. The service is horrible and they do not do anything to help out if is an inconvenience to their lazy time. When their website goes down or has a maintenance issue, the office will fine you at least 30 $ to re enter your credit card information. Never, will I ever, recommend any of my family or friends to waste their money on this low quality service and place. Beware, living close to campus is not worth this awful living situation. You have been warned. I only used my account to tell people NOT waste your time here

I have lived here for 3 years now and have dealt with multiple changes in management. The first year was great, they were so helpful and kind to all residents, they really made it apparent that I chose the right place to live… The current company is extremely disorganized and rude to the paying residents of the community. Don’t live here if you expect to be able to go into the front office with any questions because they won’t know the answer or be willing to find the answer for your questions. They have also billed us incorrectly multiple times for overages that we did not incur. They are raising rates but they aren’t doing anything to improve living situations to make it worth more money. Definitely won’t be living here again and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

So far University Fountains has been a great apartment complex to reside at. There have been some problems however such as the poisoning of birds and the failed attempts at fixing our washer every time it floods and breaks. Overall for what you get I feel for the most part satisfied.

If I could give negative stars I would. The WORST place I have ever lived in Lubbock. Terrible management (changed numerous times while I lived there), terrible security (resulting in a robbery of my apartment), TERRIBLE condition and poor quality of apartments, everything is cheap and needs an update. NEVER LIVE HERE! Also, they will charge you almost 1k for minimal damages on an apartment. Good luck if you signed a lease here.

Appliances need upgraded. Nice distance to campus. Bathrooms need renovated. Nice bedroom sizing. The sprinklers are awful and are against city tegulations

I loved living here all last semester and then this semester kind of changed my opinion due to the lack of response from management in regards to maintenance accidentally flooding my apartment. I feel as though now management isn’t as cooperative or responsive as the used to be, and I’m frustrated for renewing last semester when things were good.

Hope you don’t mind not having a heater IN THE WINTER. IN LUBBOCK! Staff could’ve cared less and took their time with «ordering» one and was very rude about it (didn’t even offer a blanket) — they told me to get a hotel– Then I left for Christmas break and still not fixed, and when I got back it was fixed but left on by maintenance and got a HUGE OVERAGE on electric, (I had talked to the MANAGER about this worry before I left) STILL had to pay a hefty amount on overages. So even if this place seems to be persuading you by their lower prices based on proximity it’ll add up with all the overages very quickly. Staff was ok except for the bitchiest manager ever who will literally yell at you, but recently the only two guys that were actually helpful no longer work there and know it’s a bunch of clueless staff working there, giving you the wrong facts. Subleasing is a pain and you pay way more than any other complex. All in all not worth the price, things quickly add up, so you’ll probably better off paying a little more somewhere else which will most likely have a more updated look and appliances, not to mention more helpful staff as well.

I lived here for four years, and would not live anywhere else (in Lubbock that is ;))! The apartments are beautiful (three bedroom town house with bay window woo!), and come fully furnished which is incredibly convenient.
The leases are based on the individual room, meaning that if a roommate bails out you are still only responsible for your monthly charge. This was a definite selling point to my parents at the time, as I’m sure it will be to many others.
The workout room is very nice and clean, equipped with free tanning. The pool is great, although the hot tub is often somewhat meh due to college kids.
It is on the bus loop for campus, although on nice days it is a short walk to Tech. As a female my safety is important, and I always felt very safe living here.
There are reviews on other websites that are poor based on the staff, but I think all those people are just divas. Granted how often you interact with staff (like what, 3 times a year maybe?) I never once had a problem. I guess the only thing would be that sometimes I would pay my rent online and they would lose track of it, so make sure to hold onto your receipts.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone looking for a safe, relatively affordable (compared to The Centre, Cottages, etc), and fun place to live.
