We came here for an overnight when we brought our parents down to visit their old homesteads. We have a 28 ft motor home and we were looking forward to staying here. We had water and power but no sewer hookup but that was ok. There was a dump station when we left. There were several sites to choose from but while the pull through for the motor home to rest on was flat, the picnic table and fire ring were on a hill so it was not comfortable to put chairs near the fire or sit at the picnic table and I think we chose the most level site. The bathroom was clean but small. Only 3 shower stalls and 3 toilets so I think it would be a little crowded if the campground was full and you were tent or trailer camping. There seemed to be plenty of shady sites and we were a short walk down to the lake. I would stay there again but only if I knew what site to reserve if it was during a busy time.

Such a private feeling and a beautiful scenic view all over the lake. The thing I notice about lakes is the spacious areas where you can tube and hop out and swim. This lake offers that along with plenty of great spots to do some fishing. It’s far better than Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville. I would drive the extra half hour to go to this lake if I were anyone else.

First of all villas are the better place to stay by far, executives are rustic primitive and just plain old, but closer to the lodge, third you cannot tell anything by their lame website you just need to go there and check it out seriously. If you call them you’ll have to pry this information out of them. They are so hard to communicate with I feel on purpose so that you don’t know what you’re getting. Okay, we show up at 2:30 and they say that check in time is at 4 and we can’t get into our cabin early because they are still cleaning. We drove out to check out the cabins and looked in the windows. They are already all cleaned and ready to go. We went back to tell the reservation person that we noticed that the cabin was ready, could we please check in because we have perishable food in our car to stock the cabin kitchen. She just frankly told us no for with no apparent reason. Stay tune for updates as we watch our food spoil and wait to get into our very old dated cabin!

My fraternity held our formal at this park. The staff was friendly, the rangers were lenient and understanding, and the view was quite nice. Everything was a bit expensive that’s for sure. MAKESUREYOUBRINGYOUROWNFOOD! That was the rough part, the closest gas station even open at 7pm was literally a 20 minute drive. We ended up renting a boat, and the staff there was also friendly, it was a great weekend all in all, and much can be said for the facilities. Watch out for the bees! I have never seen so many bees in one place at one time, they love the front doors of your rooms! It was Family Nature Weekend at the park when we were there, maybe not the most fitting time for a fraternity formal and that to be going on, but as I said, everyone was respectful and understanding of each other.
