Our gym is able to train children, adults interested in trying a new martial art, and professional fighters. We are well-​respected with the Southeast fight community, and have qualified instructors ready to teach anyone ready to learn. The gym offers private classes taught by the gym’s coaches, as well as professional fighters. The facility also has qualified fitness instructors available. We offer children’s classes in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu (BJJ), adult classes at the beginner and advanced level in Muay Thai, as well as MMA classes.

History

Established in 2008.

Sor Sumrit Muay Thai was established by Nik Rodriguez, whose instructor lineage falls under one of the living legends, Kongnapa Watcharawit. Nik wanted to take his knowledge of the martial art and share it with others, creating a place where the best fighters could learn the best fighting instruction. Over time through word of mouth, the gym membership grew from private sessions, to fighter classes, to classes for adults, children, and MMA classes. The gym has established itself as one of the première training facilities in Columbia, South Carolina.

Business Owner

Nik is the owner of Sor Sumrit. He grew the business from the ground up, purchasing all of the equipment on his own, as well as starting instruction out of his garage. With this humble beginning, Nik has grown the membership into people of all ages and skill, and moved to a bigger facility to accomodate the class sizes. Nik continues to teach every day, as well as support fighters at local events by coaching them.
