Shady Point Beach & Campground

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! we went there for the 4^th of july and it was absolutely beautiful. we were surrounded by hundreds of hispanic people with music, food and they even allow alcohol. plenty of places to swim and they even have a dock with a water slide. it cost $ 10 on a holiday for parking and that includes using their grills and picnic tables so thats really good. get their about an hour and a half before they open so you can get a great spot!!! although the lake is no more than a 3 minute walk from the farthest point. the only down side was that i couldnt bring my puppies: o (no dogs allowed. they also allow boating and water skiing. they have bathrooms inside as well as porta pottys and a little store on the property in case you forget anything.

It’s a loud & rambunctious scene at Shady Point! Weekends, especially Sundays, find this spot occupied 90% by working class Brazilians letting off some steam after completing a 70 hour work week.
Barbecuing, jet skiing, blasting Baile-​Funk/​Forro/​Samba (simultaneously) and causing a general ruckus are all featured.
If you’re looking for space, relaxation, quiet time, etc. this is probably not the place for you (try Walden Pond or something), though I’ve never actually tried camping out here…
Truth be told, there are a few spots at Shady Point that I think can be relaxing, especially next to the little beach area, but you’re not going to entirely escape the celebratory chaos just a short walk away.
Also has a Shady Point Convenient Store (more like a shack) on the campground where one can buy ice-​cream, soda, paper plates/​towels, plastic forks, ice, etc.
$ 10 entry fee per person.
