Apparently I mistyped this review! Don’t mistake this company with bare

Too overbearing and condescending for words. Who needs it? I would rather go to Nordstrom and be treated like a person than be treated the way I have been on multiple experiences by these women like some idiot who ought to know more about the ins and outs of the many types of bras. This store has been getting away with this behavior for years in the well-​heeled Green Spring Station shopping area but that is no excuse. They have no right to be condescending and act like complete know-​it-​alls.

Excellent customer service. I got my corset for my wedding dress here. It was perfect. If you need undergarments for weddings, proms, special occasions or even just everyday this is the place to go!

I always have the best experience when shopping at Bare Necessities. I shopped here for a bra to wear for my wedding and they even altered the bra so it wouldn’t show in my low-​back wedding dress. I had to go back a couple of times for a few nips and tucks on the bra as my dress was being altered. In the end, it was perfect! I even picked up a cute «Bride» robe here to wear as I got ready for my wedding. I keep coming back and recommending Bare Necessities to my friends.

I went into Bare Necessities today after work looking for a long line strapless bra for this wedding on Saturday. The customer service that I received was phenomenal!
I was very comfortable with getting measured and fitted and discovered that my width on my band went down 2 inches which made me smile! Although I’ve been here and other speciality bra places before I was asked each time if it was ok for them to position my Breast properly in the bra.
I was even offered to come back with my dress and bra to make sure things fit perfectly and that the bra is not showing for the wedding!
I spent WAY LESS than what I anticipated but know that the purchase will be a good investment for me as I have another wedding in March.
If you live in the area stop by and see my ladies at Bare Necessities as your Breast are in good hands! Maybe next time I will have more time to browse the store and see what other goodies they have!

I love Bare Necessities! They have plenty of bra sizes, lingerie, underwear, and are happy to help you. They are REALLY helpful and professional and don’t make you feel weird or bad about your body. I strongly recommend going during their annual sale when things are much less expensive, but note that they will be much busier.
Note to other customers: There are plusses and cons to going to a small, intimate lingerie store. The plus is that you don’t have to wonder around trying to find a sales person. The con is that there are not 300 dressing rooms. If you want to go to BN during their busiest time (annual sale), you will not be able to try to on 50 bras at the drop of a hat. Wait your damn turn, and show up early. We all want our discounted bras!

Purchased a body shaper last Tuesday, wore it one day, by the end of the day the elastic at the top of this shaper which comes up near your bra started to curl outward which defeats the smooth effect I’m trying to get. It also doesn’t do well for holding the tummy in. The curling out affect was the main reason I wanted to return it. My problem… i wanted to return this item. not because I just didn’t want it… but because it does not do what I expected. I called the store about returning it, they said they wouldn”t take it back because the manufacturer doesn’t take back. I called the manufacturer because their product has a guarantee, they said yes we take it back, we would take it back from you and we would take it back from the store. So I called the store back, said let me give them one more chance to make this right because they had so many neat things there that I thought I might go back and buy. Manager said they would have to call the manufacturer to double check. At the end of all of this they said we can take it back but we have issue you at store credit… hmmm… That’s quite alright I will return it to the manufacturer and never shop at Bare Necessities again and not refer anyone to the store. I give them a 1 star for the black woman in the store that assisted me, she wasn’t a manager and has nothing to do with the policy.

Bare Necessities is my go-​to place for bras– although it’s a bit pricey, I have never bought a bra there and had it sit around or be retired to the back of the drawer. All of the women working there are very helpful and have excellent knowledge about the merchandise and are able to expedite the otherwise frustrating process of sifting through dozens of bras (the typical department store experience).

I walked in and was helped right away which is good. I told one of the sister-​owners that I already had a fitting and knew my size, but she acted like I was wrong and she was right and was a little abrasive until I gave in to her to have another fitting. Then she was pleasant again. The fitting was good except that they fit very loose. I think they only know how to fit smaller boobs. Bigger boobs have totally different issues than smaller boobs. So she fit me for 2 band sizes larger than I normally buy and it felt fine in the store, but of course now that I’m wearing it it slides around so is clearly way too big. It will probably only last a month because as we all know bras stretch out, but this one is already too big. And they do not give refunds. It does say so on the receipt, but I wish I had known ahead of time because had I known, I would have only bought 1 bra in the new size and tried that for a bit before buying more. The prices are high, but not any higher than you will get for the same merchandise anywhere else. They do free alterations (of course that makes them non-​returnable) so that is nice.

I have to say, I have no idea how the previous reviewers can be so upset about a basic store policy that is spelled out in the store itself. The women here have always been extremely helpful and pleasant to me.
I used to frequent Lingerie Lingerie, but was always disappointed by the cold and unhelpful nature of the employees, not to mention the rather slim selection of bras. Bare Necessities is the ONLY place I will now go to buy a bra. Each and every time I have visited the store I have been measured and fitted, and had great one-​on-​one experiences with the employees. If you are fitted with a nearly-​perfect bra, the women at Bare Necessities will hand alter said bra so that it fits you perfectly (case in point: I found an almost-​fitting bra that had straps which were just a tad too long; the straps were shortened to fit me exactly and the bra was ready to be picked up the very next day.) I’ve gone there to pick out everyday bras as well as to buy foundation garments for a special occasions, and no matter what I was looking for I left quite happy with both my purchases and with the attention I received from the women who work there.
In response to the previous reviewer who says that she was told by an employee to just «pick one and try it on,» I can say that I have never been treated in such a way at Bare Necessities, and I cannot imagine anyone else being treated that way; the employees at this store much prefer to personally fit bras to their customers. I have to believe that there was some sort of willful misunderstanding on the reviewer’s part.

I cannot believe this store has such a following and was even rated as Best of in Baltimore magazine. If I could give it NO stars I would.
I have never been treated more poorly or with more disrespect. The owner, in addition to the employees (except one young girl who I’m not sure why she is working in such a horrible environment) do not care about you as a customer, nor help you. Two times ago I went into the store to purchase a night gown for my grandmother who has since passed away and was sick. I told the employee of my flight plans and asked if it would be ok if she didn’t like it I could still return it even though it would be after the store’s return policy of 7 days. The night gown was over $ 100 and the employee said she understood the situation and would be happy to take it back. A week and a day later, I arrived first thing in the morning to only be able to receive store credit with the SAME employee not caring what she had said the previous week and the owner just picking at her nails and pointing to the 7 day return policy sign. Moreover, upon returning to somehow spend the store credit, upon asking for help in being sized and recommended a specific bra, I was not only shooed to go look at a rack of bras but was told to just «pick one I liked and try it on»
I will never return to this store and have advised all of my friends to stay away. They are completely unprofessional and I cannot believe they have a clientele.
Instead I go to Lingerie Lingerie in Kenilworth — they are PHENOMENAL, take time to fit you and care about you, professional, courteous and are nice as can be.
