I have been searching for an exceptional Italian restaurant for some time now. I love Italian food but have never been able to find a restaurant that gets the flavors right. Well yesterday I visited this gorgeous little restaurant on a whim with some co-workers and Oh My God, it was phenomenal. We sat at the bar since we didn’t have a reservation but it was honestly the best place to be. We got a chance to chat with the hostess, the bartender, the manager and even the chef. The service was fantastic but the food, the food gave me a mouth-gasm! We sampled at least 8 or 9 different items from the menu and each one was absolutely sensational. I was absolutely impressed and It was the perfect end to my Saturday evening. If you’re looking for great food with a delightful ambiance and great service, check this place out. You will not be disappointed.

Long tike visitor to Il Luogo first time reviewing. This restaurant is spectacular. The service is nothing short or exceptional and the food follows suit. The specials can not be missed and the wine selection is exquisite. The wait staff is quite versed in pairings and each has a specific charm to their demeanor. The food surpasses every expectation and i am honored to have held more then one special event there. The arancini bolognese, whole fish, and pretty much any dessert can not be missed. My family is in love with this place.

Went here on Christmas Eve with a large group. I have not experienced better service. they had an arsenal on servers and busboys taking care of us. The head server was very professional and efficient in taking our orders and making sure everything was correct. He brought us endless bread baskets and even advised us to make sure we don’t fill up because the portions are large. I do not have any complaints. The food was delicious and the service and ambiance was very enjoyable. I recommend this spot for special occasions or just a fine Italian dining experience with impeccable service. Thank you for making my Christmas Eve so enjoyable. I’ll be back.

Then I had the penne vodka and I added grilled chicken — wow!!! perfect! I want to go back NOW! My fiancé had something — I cant remember cause he ate the entire thing and I didn’t taste it! He loved it! Service amazing just like the last time but the food — WOW!

This restaurant is an absolute pleasure. Although you might say that if it’s relatively expensive, it is well worth it. The appetizers are delicious and prepared with care. The choice of entrees is extensive, as are the nightly specials. The waitstaff knows how to treat it’s clientele. When you dine here, you feel as if it were a special treat, which it is. Il Luogo is not the type of place you would come to eat every night, unless you are financially able, but it is worth the money. Lastly, they don’t rush you out the door in an effort to get the next party into your seats. All in all, one of the best restaurants in the area. Enjoy.

Went there for dinner Saturday night and will not be going back! Food was overpriced and tasteless. We ordered a pitcher of sangria which was also overpriced and had no fruit in it and we could not taste any alcohol. We had to wait at least a half hour if not more for our meal and not once did the waiter come over to explain or apologize. When we asked him where our food was and that we were waiting so long, he made up a stupid excuse and was very rude. There was a tall candle on each table which was annoying and made it hard to see the people sitting across from you not to mention the smoke from the flame was making my eyes burn. I honestly don’t know which was worse the food or the service!

I usually think its unfair to review a restaurant based on service, but I have to make an exception for this place. Making a table of 8 wait OVER an hour after ordering is unacceptable. And to tell us the reason our food is taking so long is because we didn’t order appetizers!!! What a bogus excuse, I would’ve been less angry if they just apologized for the wait. Luckily, the pan roasted duck I ordered was very good and well portioned. Not good enough for the wait, though. What a shame.

Saturday evening was our 3rd visit to Il Luogo. This is a very fine dining restaurant that delivers with the exceptional quality of its food and the exquisite attention to detail of its attentive staff. There where five us together celebrating Mother’s Day — with my wife’s Mom, her sister and husband and my wife and myself. We all had wonderful appetizers — one had the special lobster bisque, another the Caprese salad, 2 shared the baked clam appetizer(and that was the only disappointment of the night — 6 little neck clams, with the emphasis on little, were less than expected) and I had the nights special salad — a 7 tomato salad with heirloom tomatoes, fennel, and a wonderfully light dressing. Other than the size of the clams, every one enjoyed these starters. Three of us had an interesting tenderloin special, while the others had the duck and chicken francaise. The portion sizes of the special provided a way to extend the evening into dinner for the next night — what a treasure that was. For dessert we all shared the Exotica Bomba — great sorbet taste under a dome of chocolate and the wonderful chocolate lava cake. We all felt the cost of the meal was well worth it. We will be back next time we are on Long Island.

Went back after two years and had an excellent dinner. We and another couple had a Price Fixed dinner(Friday until 6) and it was really good. Had the baked clams appetizer(tasty but clams a bit small) an excellent filet of sole dish, well prepared, fresh and delicious, and a profiterole dessert. Coffee and wine were extra, but service was good and total bill, with tip was under $ 85. per couple, very reasonable. My wife had a chicken saltimbocca dish which was also enjoyed. Nice staff from when we entered until we left.

This is not Italian food at all. My dish was drenched in oil and terrible. My table mates agreed there’s weren’t good either. What happened to the other restaurent? Bah. They also overcharge everything. The wait staff is attentive and kind; quick service. Nice décor.

We thought it was excellent. We ate stripe bass, salmon, whole wheat pasta, pear salad, eggplant, cheesecake and poached pears for dessert. All excellent. Specials are a bit pricey but clearly worth it. Great service and a wonderful evening. They were hawking a wine dinner that will take place from time to time. $ 75 and the menu seemed great. We’d go but its a bad date for us. I’d love to see a review from it.

It was a really nice restaurant. Went here for my parents 30th anniversary, and the food was really awesome. The only knock was in the seafood pasta special the shrimp was over done, but my goodness the lobster was delicious. The lab ribs were excellent and perfectly cooked, and the sauce that went on it had a great kick to it. The prices are high, but it was well worth it for a nice night out. I suggest it for a fancy night. Randomly, some portions are smaller than others and can make you feel like you got skimped out of that meal, so I would ask how much each dish comes with before ordering. Otherwise you end up spending $ 20 on four pieces of ravioli and three shrimp. Cheers

Good wine list and a classic and classy italian place. The food and service was excellent. I thought the specials, there’s like 20, we a bit over priced, but overall it was a nice candlelit dinner in a place that is just the right amount of italian noisy and cozy.

We’ve been to Il Luogo several times but unfortunately, our dinner last night left a bitter taste. Admittedly, the food was very tasty and was prepared and served very nicely. However, we felt as though we were taken advantage of with respect to the prices. One of the members of our party ordered a shrimp cocktail, which was $ 16 and consisted of 3(!) pieces of shrimp. We also ordered sides of pasta with clam sauce, which consisted of a few clams and probably 3 forkfuls of pasta, for which they charged $ 10 each. One of us ordered a diet coke, for which we were charged $ 6.50. We ordered a meatball appetizer, which consisted of 3 meatballs, for which we were charged $ 18. For the amount of food we got, we were shocked to see the final bill. I can appreciate the cost of doing business on Long Island and the restaurant was recently revamped and redecorated to feel like a fancier dining experience, but this felt extortionate. It was very busy and very noisy too — I would not recommend this for a relaxing night out. We have PLENTY of options for Italian food in the Rockville Centre area and we won’t be dining here again.

Our first time there and an 8:00 reservation on a Saturday night. We sat at 8:05!!! That was amazing. And from then on we fell in love with this place. The service was outstanding and the food was wonderful. Small, intimate restaurant with all servers paying full attention to you and your experience. And the star of this place, the FOOD. Excellent! We’ll be back again and again.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise this restaurant was. Stopped here on a business trip, as it was close to the hotel, and found great food, outstanding service, a diverse and inviting menu and a calm dining oasis. I especially enjoyed the Caesar salad(all dressings are house-made) which was crisp, fresh and flavorful. They offer a prix fix menu which has wonderful four set of selections… I look forward to returning again when I am in the area!!!
