History

Established in 1982.

The Mailbox was originally located on the Guide Meridian in the same building as the original Milt’s Pizza Place and later moved to 19^th Street where my father Darrell Cooke purchased it and continued it’s operation for 16 years. Health reasons dictated that he either sell the business or get someone to run it for him. Darrell trained me (Chris) for about a year and turned over management and most aspects of the business. With my backround in managing large businesses coupled with what my Grandfather Richard Cook (former owner of a Greyhound shipping and ticket depot) and what Dad taught me, demand for our services grew. We decided it was time to expand and relocated to our current address. The Mailbox has flourished in it’s new much larger building with a Drive-Up window, fully covered parking and central location. My Son Sam and I run the store along with Jackie our freindly shipping specialist. We look forward to serving our customers for many years to come.

You couldn’t find a more helpful place than the Mailbox in Lynden. Very nice people who bend over backwards to be of assistance. We moved but still drive 30 kilometers to them to get our packages when we could sign up at another shipping centre 2 kilometers from our house. So that speaks to how we feel about the staff at the Mailbox.

Have been using these guys for years. They’re absolutely fantastic. First off, the customer service is above and beyond. They make an effort to remember and get to know you. Have sent a few things with them as well and they’re always checking to make sure I’m getting the best deal, etc. Even though I moved out to Abby and there are more «convenient» places I could go, I remain a loyal customer.

Terrible! I just had the most disturbing encounter with an employee quite possibly, ever! I thought they opened at 8:30 Saturdays, so I pulled up to the store right at 8:30. They weren’t open but there was a man inside, and he was talking to a man standing outside, through a drive-up window. I have all pre-paid boxes, and since I just needed to drop them off, AND the company benefits financially from each package they princess, I thought I’d ask if he would be willing to take the parcels. I won’t try to write the conversation word for word, but suffice it to say, the man was so rude, had such a bad attitude, I backed off and said, «hey, listen, I’ll give somebody else my business.» At that point he went OFF! I was astonished. He screamed and yelled, including gesturing and yelling F**k you lady. Honestly I couldn’t believe the hostility. If he didn’t want to open the door or take my prepaid packages he could have just said so. He was hostile right from the time I approached the window. Other times I have been there, the woman at the counter was helpful, but this man was UNREAL.

I have gotten my packages shipped here quite a few times. If you have a file with them they will email you when your package arrives. I have also used their shipping services. I have always been happy with both services. The employees are friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend this business!
