Great Mediterranean food. The owner of his establishment makes all his deliveries, himself, he is always a pleasure to talk to over the phone or in person. The food is freshly prepared and it takes amazing. Once I called for take out, and he said it will be ready, I went in expecting he must have heated up the food that I ordered, or gave me food he made earlier in day. No he was frying the Falafel right there. He gave me the food, and freshly made hot Falafel balls. The Hummus they make here is also delicious. After ordering a few times on GrubHub from him I finally went to the actual restaurant. It had a few tables, probably not the biggest place. I think the restaurants strength is in the delivery service and of course the quality of the food. What caught my eye was the wide range of drinks they had(sodas, fruit drinks) that were very ethnic and some of them reminded me of home. I think I am going to go back to try all of them over time. The food is fantastic, the price reasonable, the service great. 2 Thumbs up all the way.

Terrible food. No space. Very dirty disgusting small family business for sandwiches only. The prices are very very high compared to the level of the service. I was fooled by the review and drove 20 miles to get this trash. Just go the restroom and see how the food is done.

Beware… this place is highly addictive! The food is so so so good! My boyfriend goes to pickup the food and he loves the owner! Every time he comes back with the food, he comments on what a nice man the owner is. We have been ordering from here once a week. The gyro platter over rice is so good and the hummus and baba ghanoush are pretty much crack.

The food was very below average. The meat borek… wow terrible. It was super dry and rock hard. We actually didn’t even eat it. We threw it out. The gyro entrée… ummm that’s not gyro meat though. That was frozen beef patties from restaurant depot that they heated up. I’m Turkish, I know what real gyro meat looks like and that was not it. If I wanted to eat a fake gyro I could of gone to an American Diner. The only semi-okay thing we ordered was the zucchini patties, which were a little burnt but at least we didn’t have to throw that out. Basically, I’m offended that this restaurant advertises itself as Turkish because they’re definitely misrepresenting what amazing Turkish food tastes like. People who order from here are going to have the idea that Turkish food tastes like shit. And it really doesn’t. What they serve you isn’t even authentic food it’s frozen Costco/restaurant depot food! Stop lying to people! Unilocalers… go to any Turkish restaurant in Paterson and I can assure you that even if that spot isn’t the most amazing of Turkish restaurants it will most definitely be better than this place because this place is just frozen American food. Don’t waste your money and please don’t think that this food is what Turkish food tastes like… Paid an extra $ 5 for delivery just to throw 80% of the food out.

Soooooooooo disapointed… I was looking foward to eating here for so long after reading all the reviews and being a big foodie. I ordered the chicken kabob pita and the lamb pita. The chicken kabob had no taste and im more then certain what i was given wasnt lamb; pretty sure it was beef. Switching the meats is alrite if it was a mistake, but the food was lack luster. It had no flavor and was barely filled with meats or condiments. I dont know where all these high ratings are coming from.

When I lived nearby I must’ve ordered food from this restaurant twice a week. It’s inexpensive and delicious. It is arguably the best Turkish food in the state. They don’t deliver to where I currently live nor do I drive so I’ve been trying to fill the void with restaurants in my area to no avail. Sultan Gyro’s hummus is the best I’ve ever had and the same can be said about the baklava they offer. As a vegan, they’ve always been extremely accommodating and cooked my food away from the meat and dairy dishes. Please come here. They’re a family owned business so they depend on their community to flourish. The restaurant ain’t much but the food makes up for it. I swear.

If you like Turkish, this place is the spot. The place is rather small, but you can eat in. We usually get the food delivered from here, as it is like a few blocks from our house. The owner Joe is a real good dude. My wife especially likes the Shepard’s Salad. Any of the Gyro dishes or Chicken dishes have been real good too.

I have only ordered delivery and each time the food was fresh and out of control delicious!!! The falafel sandwich is all you would except and so much more. The gyro platter has all of the flavors necessary for a flavor experience you will never forget. Now the not so good… When I initially ordered through Unilocal24 the delivery took over 3 hours! I called to complain and the owner was apologetic as the driver was new. The second time it took over 2 hours. Each time the food was still great so it was hard to stay mad. If you are looking for outrageously delicious food but don’t mind waiting to get it, you will not be disappointed!

Good food, nice chef. Takes a while to make the food but the intentionality is appreciated. Our go-to for takeout.

Terrible customer service. Call to place an order for about $ 20 of food. FIRST question I ask is if they deliver. Guy on the phone answers yes. I read off my order. I ask if I can pay with a card. He has to check if the machine is working. You would think you would know off the bat but I’ll let it slide. He goes yes you can pay with a card. He hangs up. I call back because I haven’t given my card number or address. So he says it will be ready in 20 minutes. I go next you don’t have my address to deliver. Then he says oh I can’t deliver. Why when after the first question I ask about deliver would you answer yes and then change at the end? I won’t go or order from again now. There are many other places that will actually want my business.

I usually get tired of the same boring healthy work weekly lunches ;sweet potatoes and salad. It’s a great relieve to pick up the phone and order all my meals for the week the owner takes his times packing them individually and making sure I have enough food for the week. I just can’t believe people go to Wendy’s(next door) instead of trying more healthy options at sultan gyro. I am a happy customer and I will continue to come here. And for the people that don’t like to wait for their food please call ahead this is not fast food!

Just ate a late lunch @ Sultan Gyro, on Ridge Road. A pleasant surprise. While the store is not much to look at, Joe the owner took good care of me. I had a simple«Lunch Special» consisting of a Falafal Pita, well done fries, and a Dr. Brown’s Diet Cream Soda. For $ 6.90, incl. tax, I was happy and satisfied. Next time, I think I’ll try something more adventurous.

It really sucks to give a bad review but I have to be truthful about my experience. I only ate here because I saw it had 4 stars. Unilocalers, please have some knowledge on being able to determine what’s good or not because people such as myself rely on what you say about an establishment. This place bad on so many levels. I won’t go into detail about it because the owner was really nice but didn’t pay attention to a specific instruction I gave with my order which resulted in an allergic reaction. Besides the reaction I tried the food and it wasn’t good at all. If your forced to go here just order the fries, they were actually decent.

I’ve been wanting Adana for a while now and was so happy when I found this really close to home. When I called the lady who picked up made me aware that they had a $ 5 charge for deliver which made no sense to me so I just decided to drive there. I ordered the Adana dinner. When I got there I was able to park next door since they had three spaces next to Wendy’s. I was kind of shocked with how small the location was but it is definitely a family owned business and extremely comfy. The lady who I believe had taken my order, and whom I presumed to be the owner and cook was so pleasant. She chatted with me for a little and asked me how I had come about her place, of course I said Unilocal. This place definitely had a very homey feel, but I suggest picking up if you’re planning to eat with a lot of people since there isn’t much space. Another great thing, their portions are an extremely great size and DELICIOUS! Will go back.

I shouldn’t have disregarded my fellow Unilocalers’ reviews. What a disappointment! First of all, the restaurant itself is so dull. No music, just Simpsons showing on the tv. The owner was friendly, but extremely slow. He was making one order at a time. Rather than multi-task, he would finish one order then move on to the next. Ok fine, at least everything will be fresh right? I get my food and take it home. I open it up and my taste buds started to dance. I took the first bite, a combination of rice amd gyro, and my taste buds were not dancing anymore. The white rice was bland amd over cooked. It was like mashed rice. The gyro was dry. Now I’m digging through my platter to find the chicken. Bam! I found it. I dig in to the chicken and it was dry amd like rubber. Then I find another piece of chicken which looked totally different from the dried out rubbery one I ate, so I give that a shot, and that was the only thing that actually tasted good. Sad part, there was just that one piece. Then i found 2 more small pieces of that dried out rubbery chicken. For paying $ 13 for a gyro and chicken platter, I only had 4 small pieces of chicken, small as in almond size small. Even the pita wasn’t any good because it was burnt. The white sauce that was drizzled on my platter had too much of a tang. After all this, I ended up with a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch that satisfied my hunger. I don’t like to promote other businesses, so without mentioning any names, there are better options in Montclair for Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food that is worth every penny.

Despite the bad reviews I decided to give this place a try. I should’ve known better and trusted the community. I’m currently waiting for my food and watching the ONEANDONLY man taking the orders, cooking the food and dealing with the money. It actually crossed my mind to leave but it wouldn’t be right. So far I have seen him microwave the rice, burn the meat on 2 orders, try to get every last bit of sauce from the bottle which came out slightly watery and scoop the soggy salad into containers. What I have seen as portion wise is upsetting. 2 chunks of chicken, 3 sad slices of gyro meat. I understand the lunch prices are low but im used to the food trucks in NYC where you can get double the qualilty, double the portion and a lot fresher than what this place is serving for the same price. On top of the food prep and quality the wait makes you want to walk out and go to Wendy’s next door. Now that im eating my food, it has hot sauce on it which i didnt ask for. Luckily i have a tolerance for it. Wouldn’t recommend to any of my friends.

This restaurant is sure to be one of the worse Kabob/Mediterranean places I have been to. Being a small family owned business with not so great reviews, I assumed they would try and provide good food to customers so that people will want to return to the place sometime soon, but no… I ordered for a Chicken Kofté Kabob, which is ground chicken meat mixed with spices(supposedly), and since it was lunch time the kabob(1 small piece) came with salad, rice, and white and hot sauce. To compensate for the emptiness on the plate, they added 2 – 3 falafels. If this was not enough, the kabob was completely burnt and had no taste to it. Surely I could have made a better one at home. Would give this restaurant a 1 out of 5, and certainly not recommend anyone to go there… A Wendy’s or McDonalds is a much better option…

I’m going to be nice and give two stars instead of one, but the food was really, really not good. I honestly have no idea why so many reviewers gave a high star rating… I ordered delivery and the man on the phone was very nice and they delivered in about one hour. So far, so good… Food: Their tzatziki sauce is awful. It definitely had mint in it, which is not what I’m used to, nor do I think it’s supposed to. I value a good tzatziki sauce so this was a major wrongdoing on their end. The Shephard Salad was flavorless, I didn’t eat it. The Lamb Kabab had small dry chunks of meat over rice. The meat was OK, but a little dry. The rice had a good texture. However, the mushy salad on the side did not. Again I kept getting strong flavors of mint at random moments. They give you a fair amount of food for a fair price. Overall I would never order from here again. I was left 100% unsatisfied.
