This place is terribly inconsistent. I’ve had a couple of OK meals but many more less than mediocre ones. The sangria is decent but the service is dreadfully slow. I would stay away if possible.

We live local and go a few times a year. The food has always been delicious and consistent. We have never had an issue with the staff. always pleasant and available. The skirt steak is great !

Excellent dinner, once again! The three of us had a proverbial feast, starting with warm, soft rolls and a nice salad. For the appetizers we tried the Spanish sausages and clams. Large enough potions to satisfy three big boys. The main event was shrimp and garlic which came with a size of crispy potatoes and vegetables, the best!!! Steve ordered a seafood combo with lobster, shrimp, clams and who knows what else, check out the photos. No room for deserts but they looked awesome. The service is top notch, very clean facility. Can’t wait to return.

Tero’s is my neighborhood go to. I prefer sitting at the bar. They have an excellent bar menu. It’s fun hanging out, drinking sangria, and having an appetizer off the bar menu. This is an excellent neighborhood hang.

This review is about the Teros RESTAURANT(NOT the bar next door) Food: Good Prices: High Potions: Large Service: Nice people, but horribly unorganized Décor: Nice After reading many good reviews on this restaurant, we decided to give it a try. The menu was pricier then I expected it to be, but it was full of great items that made it difficult to decide what to get… But hearing that the portions were large, and seeing the size of the plates at other tables we thought it would be worth it. So, my wife and I ordered soup, and appetizer and an entrée anyway. We figured if it was too much, we would bring some food home to have later. An advance decision was made that, if the experience was good — we WOULD be back to try other menu items. (It was downhill from there.) My wife’s soup came out, and she liked it… But she was done before mine came. A long while later, our dinners arrived. They forgot our appetizers, and we told our waiter to cancel them. I believe that the horribly unorganized service stems from a staff that lacks direction and communication; as someone different brought each different part of our meal… And our waiter was nowhere to be found as that was happening(to ensure what we ordered was being delivered with prudent timing). What a shame! They offered nothing to make amends for their mistake except an apology, and lost us as potential repeat customers. FOOD: Sangria: Average, but good Soups: Vegetable(good), «Alantejana” — SUPERB Stuffed Shrimp: Average, but good Churrasco: Average, but good ***Compared to other area restaurants offering the same thing at similar prices — others prevail.

This place is within walking distance. When my wife was pregnant, she would mosey on over and pig out. She would rave about the skirt steak. I was working nights at the time, so my wife would dine alone. She would rave about the food. One Saturday, we went in, and I was glad we did. The food was good. I eat there regularly. Never disappoints.

Was at Teros last night very disappointed. The last time I was there was the Friday before fathers day and we had then the stuff shrimp very salty. We mentioned it to the manager and we told her about the last experience and we wanted to make sure that this time the food was done correctly. Well she made a comment last night that shocked me if you are not satisfied the door is over there you can leave but you still have to pay for the meal you cannot return it that how it’s made. I have gone to many restaurants before here in NJ and NY. I never heard such a remark. Also the food took forever. Very dissapointed. Need better customer service and New cook who has gone to culinary school. Very dissapointed

Don’t judge a book by its cover, Tero’s is a wonderful place for seafood. Rose the bartender knows how to make you feel at home and can make a mean sangria. My girlfriend and I split a mixed seafood grill platter. The portions were huge and delicious. I will definitely go back. I only feedback I have is that I like my seafood cooked slightly less.

Food is absolutely great! Décor a bit tacky. service definetely needs improvement. Waiter was slow. It took over 20 minutes to get the apetizers we ordered and the place was not very crowded. Would I come back again? Yes! Ps Sangria was good(and I know Sangria)

After reading the reviews left for this restaurant I have to admit I wasn’t all that excited to try it, but my friend insisted that we try something new so I reluctantly agreed. I only ordered the seafood salad and was actually pleasantly surprised at the amount and quality of the dish(shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels, squid — all chilled). The service was also timely and pleasant. My only complaint is that the mussels tasted fishy which was a disappointment however every other item was deliciously prepared. My friend ordered the broiled salmon and LOVED it. I tried her dish and have to agree that it was perfectly cooked.

Amazingly enjoyable! I had the broiled salmon and it was perfect. I hate when salmon is served somewhat wet but they made sure it was cooked well… served with roasted potatoes rice string beans and carrots… deeeeeelicious. :-)

This place never disappoints. Great food and great service. Nice atmosphere for a romantic dinner. We also had a party for 25 people and were very accommodated. I give them an A++!

Not worth it. I remember trying this place years ago and being very happy. I may have been delusional. The food was ok… not great, just ok and for the price«ok» isn’t good enough. The staff, on the other hand was terrible! We had 3 different people circling our table all asking us the same questions one after the other and then when we needed something they were no where to be found. They brought us another table’s food(there was only one other table occupied so I can’t imagine they had much to remember) and then we waited 20 minutes for them to clear our salad plates. We won’t be going back there.

Never… Ever!!! Again! I arrived with my husband and my 2 daughters, ages 22 and 23. The service sucked. The waiter appeared to not even pay attention to the drink order and it was evident when he arrived back 20… yes 20 minutes later. It was a Saturday evening, but the place was only half full. 45 minutes after the food order was placed, the waiter showed up with all of it… including the appetizers that were cold. Yeah you get a lot, but if it’s bad food… it’s bad food. What annoyed me the most was the guy that was either the owner or manager stared at my 2 daughters so much that they were uncomfortable and took offense. My husband noticed this before they did. Pervert!

This place is hit or miss. I guess it depends who is cooking the food I’ve eaten here 3 times over the past year and it was great once and average the other 2 times. I always go with the garlic shrimp and steak. I will give them one more shot.

I’m all about supporting the local restaurants, especially if the food is good and the establishment treats their patrons well. Teros didn’t really do it for me. I came to the restaurant for an early dinner with my parents. The service is very very slow. The food was ok, but generally bland. We had the caldo verde soup and the black bean soup as an appetizer. I definitely had better caldo verde. It was all broth and a couple of pieces of chorizo. The black bean soup was pretty decent. For dinner, my parents shared the paella marinera. It was bland, nothing to rave about. I had the broiled lobster. It was overly cooked and had no flavor. Based on my experience, I probably will not come back. I would rather drive to Newark for Portuguese food.

I will be reviewing this on the basis of their ability to be a restaurant. I haven’t had their take-out nor their snack bar so here we go… Alright so we made reservations on a Wednesday to show up the following Saturday for 4:30 pm. When we arrived, there were only two tables with customers and I kind of thought, «That’s not a good sign…» So we attempted to check-in our reservation and they had no record of us making the reservation and had to prepare our table while we waited. Four of us sat down and two more of us came in later. While the four were there, the waiter asked us if we needed some time, we said«Yes», but when we were ready, the waiter took his time and we had to call him over three times before he finally took our drink order. Then, the other two members of the party arrived and it took just as long to get the drinks to them. Mind you, we had to leave by 6:30 pm for some prior engagements that we needed to attend on time. But we weren’t worried yet. When we ordered the entrees, it took a long time to come out just to find that my shirk steak was basically rare-raw(I asked for medium-well) and my friend’s shirk steak was charred and dry…(she asked for well-done but damn! lol). One of our other comrades ordered a chicken parm and it was huge! Enough to feed four people, so she only had about a quarter of it and threw the rest out. Another one of our friends had the salmon, and she had two large medallions of salmon, which was okay, but it was too much for her. Oh, and we wanted to wait until everyone got their meals before we started eating. It look them about 5 minutes longer to prepare the lemon chicken for one of our party members. So I had to ask them to take back my meal to cook it more, just to find out that it was still mostly pink(just rare now). I was unable to enjoy my meal, and neither was my friend with the burnt piece of meat. We even saw the waiter argue with the manager about my meal being undercooked, and it seemed that the waiter didn’t want to deal with a large party like us because he took his time serving us. Also, he seemed to be cordial to all of his smaller parties while avoiding us. I say shame on the restaurant for being under-manned in service and not well allocated in resources– we saw the busboys run around like chickens with no heads… the restaurant was mostly empty! It took me to walk up to the manager to pay for the check after the waiter wouldn’t take the check after another 15 minutes! And the manager didn’t come off as very serviceable either; she just didn’t look like she wanted to be there. On another note, the décor was very dated, like«Restaurant: Impossible» dated. The organization of the restaurant was questionable because the waiter there was the only waiter while there were several busboys. So overall, the food was not good and the service was very poor. I think out of the 6 people that showed up in our party, maybe 1 genuinely enjoyed their food. I would not recommend this place as a sit-down restaurant.

Great food and drinks!!! You can never go wrong with Teros, everything is delicious and out of this world. Their sangria is to die for! The staff is always more than accommodating. I wanted to gift a friend their sangria and Tero, himself was extremely helpful and bottled it for me. Other places wouldn’t be bothered with such a request. Also, if you get anything from this review, try their frog legs!!! Trust me, they’re delicious, you’ll have no regrets, but you will be waking up in the middle of the night craving them =)
