Had a chicken parm sandwich at the suggestion of the bartender Kayleigh: insanely good. I also saw her mix up some custom mixer shots that would peak your interest. This place is definitely way too hidden of a gem for how far above the bar it is. It’s a popular place with locals and it’s worth going out of your way to check out. PS. Outdoor patio seating!

Fun place. We came on a Saturday night and sat outside to eat and drink and then played beer pong. Surprisingly empty but then got a little more crowded once the beer pong started. Food was surprisingly good which I wasn’t expecting given the negative reviews on the food. Not 5 star restaurant but good quality bar food. I’ll definitely be back!

Always an interesting night in here with the weirdos who come in. The patio during the summer is a great spot to drink outside while watching a sports event. Food is excellent as well.

Amazing place. The first time I went there I wasn’t thrilled but this time everything changed. — Outdoor seating is always a great thing. — I don’t care how old you are, having beer pong as an option is a good thing(though we didn’t play). — Beers are priced amazing. — The best thing about this place is the second floor, pool and darts. The only annoying thing about the second floor is no music without feeding the machine. The bad I would assume with this place would probably be the food, though I didn’t try it so I can’t really judge. Bottom line this place has amazing potential and you can easily walk from anywhere in Lyndhurst to it. I’m coming back soon and can’t wait!

I came here with my best friend for st. pattys day. It was my first time and it’s a typical bar nothing really special. The inside is kind of small but there’s a pool table upstairs, which I didn’t c yet, and they have food, which I didn’t try yet either. They have a cool outdoor seating for smoking and a couple of beer pong tables out there. I found that pretty cool too. The drinks were alright and the staff were very nice and funny! There’s a lot of regulars that go there so I found that to be a good sign. I met the owner Anthony and his wife who are very nice ppl. I would like to try this place again in the summer and try out there menu next time. We have had our dinner before we came here and jus wanted drinks. Will be back soon to check it out again!

Nice little spot good for hanging with friends or watching a sporting event. The food here is not the best but the waitresses are super nice. Smoking is allowed in the outdoor area. Drin prices are good. I ordered a pull pork dish — The pork did not taste good — truthfully to me it tasted like pork chunks that had been victims of frost bite. The BBQ sauce was most likely some jar sauce. The pulled pork was more chuck pork then pulled pork — so it was clear to me the kitchen staff really didn’t care what they served their customers. I most likely will not come back to this place and I will not recommend this place for dining. I might recommend this place for late night with friends for drinks. The restaurant does have 4 — 6 beer pong tables setup in the outdoor area.

I am shocked this place is still in business. Been there a couple times and its always dead. I am the only one in the bar besides the bartender and a waitress. I feel like I had to make conversation with them because it was so quiet. I don’t know why it is called«City Lounge» because there is no city décor in it. Just a bunch of random signs and lights. They had a raffle for a Jets jersey up… a Mark Sanchez jersey. Yeah who would want to win that raffle huh? Bartenders there are nice and do the whole buy back thing after you buy 4 drinks so that was good. No limit on opening a tab so that’s why this place gets three stars.

Agree with the other Unilocalers, interesting place to say the least. I’ll save my comments to the food. The wings are freakin awesome — meaty, breaded just right, drenched in tasty hot sauce, and cheap! The wings were followed up with my buddy’s newest obsession. the Francese sandy. Not sure I would’ve ordered it myself, but he ordered a few for the table so I indulged. Wow, really good. The sandwich is great, and the side of dipping sauce brings the gluttony to unprecedented levels. Didn’t have them, but the gravy steak fries looked good. If you are looking for a classic North Jersey bar with great food, swing by…

Honestly deserves –1 star. First time at this establishment with my wife. Sign clearly says steakhouse & bar. Had a beer at the bar then went outside to the open area to watch the football game and have dinner. My wife ordered a pulled pork sandwich which was old dried pork bathed with BBQ sauce. You could chew the staleness and only savor BBQ sauce. I ordered a sizzling rib eye steak(pan seared) which was extremely salty. Cut a piece of the corner and I instantly tasted the overwhelming salted seasoning. Called the waitress and notified her I was not happy and that I would not pay for it or I would accept having the stake change. When she returned, she told me the owner(Anthony, who would not give his last name) stated that he would not take it off my bill. I asked to speak to the owner. He showed up 30 seconds later, semi-drunk and stated that he would not take it off the bill because he would not take a loss as well as saying that everyone in the area knows all the steaks come salty because that’s the seasoning. My wife replied, «we’re not from the area, were first time customers». His answer was, «we’re not corporate and we make out own rules.“I bit my tongue and paid the $ 80 bill. As we walked out, he was doing shots at the bar and making jokes about my wife and myself and stated how we complained about the steak. As I passed him, he looked at me and said«have a good night.» I looked at him and walked out. On a personal note, this can be because we were the minority in the establishment or because I was wearing his opposing team’s jersey(he also had a jersey on). In the end, he was unprofessional, rude and drunk. Good luck to you, people

It’s a good place to hang out. Nothing special. They got modern juickboxes and pool/darts on the second floor.

This place was interesting to say the least. The fact that they have an outdoor section where you can smoke cigarettes, eat bar food, and pray to a giant Tiki God it amazing in itself. In the summer it’s probably off the hook out there, but in the winter we saddled up to the bar and ordered Larry Long Balls Island Iced Teas and munched on different versions of $ 1 shrimp. The staff was really nice and helpful and the patrons were unique. The night ended a bit early when an extremely drunken old man was ushered out of the bar by a local barfly. With that being said, i will definitely be seen in the patio area praying to the Tiki God when it gets warm out.
