The Tofu soup with beef was very good. The service was fast and friendly. The stone bowls with rice were very good but watch out that you don’t touch them, even 5 minutes after they are out. I would definitely come here again.

I really liked their rice cake and dumpling soup. The broth was light and soothing, and the rice cake texture was just the right amount of chewiness. The pork dumplings were good, but I preferred the rice cakes. My friend loves their soondubu and I will have to order that next time, because the one bite I had was too spicy for me, but the flavor was definitely there. Cho Dang is hidden inside a Korean supermarket so don’t be confused when you arrive.

Located inside the gmart this little restaurant has great stone bowl bibimbap and side dishes that will hit the spot. No fuss and good service were a pleasant plus. We also ordered a yukgaejang. While we found it strayed from a true yukgaejang in taste, It was hard to fault it as the broth was rich and flavorful making it a perfect pairing with the sizzling stone bowl bibimbap on a cold November night. Al in all a solid experience for us

Fresh tofu in an awesome soup with beef? Yes please! It is in a mall and definitely more homely feeling. Banchan is nothing to write home about with its various Kim chee, fish cake and others. Now back to the soondubu, it was so tasty! I couldn’t stop eating it! And it was served with rice in a hot stone pot for crispy rice! Oddly it has some peas on it for decoration? What makes any Asian dish so tasty? What else but msg! I noticed 30 min later while shopping that my mouth was very abnormally dry. But it wasn’t so heavy that my taste buds were warped or made me dizzy. So BEWARE msg sensitive people, they DOUSEMSG! I still need to come back and try their other dishes, especially more tofu soup ones and the Korean BBQ! I love Korean food!

Come here for their lunch specials — Monday through Friday until 3:00pm. Definitely try the beef bone soup and Napa sprout soup — the broth is a whitish consistency that is really flavorful.

This is my go to place when I’m craving Korean food. It’s authentic, cheap and the food/service is great. Also, the side dishes are consistently delicious. I can’t really say anything negative about the place Don’t let the location scare you away. This place is a must try.

My faaavorite place for soondubu. I always get kimchi beef soondubu. Its so good. I dont know how to explain it but it tastes different than the soondubu Ive tried at other korean restaurants. The only reason I wouldnt give it a 5 star rating is because the side dishes are ehh they could be better. The service is always good, and the food taste is consistant.

This is such a hidden place inside an old market that was closed down. Not a big fan of that tofu stuff but my cousin loves it! Loved all the side dishes and they let you get refills after you are done. The bulgogi dish with the rice was alright. Nothing to special but the korean bbq dish was amazing! The meat was so tender and juicy that I wanted more! If you come here and crave korean bbq, get it!

Happy that they were open on 4th and was excited. I usually goto BCD but this place had better review than BCD so I decided to give it a try. Service is definitely better than the spotty service I get at BCD. but none of the foods came to our table boiling hot or sizzling like you’d expect. And I didn’t get hot water /tea added to my rice bowl after you scoop out the rice. Which is my favorite thing to eat actually. I uaually give my rice to my hubby and eat the noo leung ji… my hubby didn’t mind the not-so-hot food since that just meant he can eat it all faster! Food was still good. But I probably won’t be back to this location because I like my soupy rice thing too much! I’ll just have to visit their other locations.

This was one of the best Asian foods I ever had. I am a lacto vegetarian and there were very limited choices so I was really skeptical… I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. We had spicy tofu– mushroom soup and a rice dish… The food was simply excellent!!! I totally recommend this place!

I ordered seafood tofu with only 2 small shrimps and one small clam in. Tofu tastes barely eat. There are only 3 tables and we did not get any service. No pickle refill, no tea refill… The worse thing was that a fly dropped into my soup. The worst thing was I did not finish the tofu yet. It was disgusting and really bad experience. I will NEVERNEVER be there again!

We were up in the Lynnwood area on what turned out to be a fool’s errand this past Sunday. After all that folderol, we were hungry and decided to grab lunch in the vicinity, and up popped Cho Dang Tofu on Unilocal. We almost ended up at Sam Oh Jung, because it is on the exact opposite side of Hwy 99. That probably would have turned out okay, since Sam Oh Jung also has good Unilocal ratings. Cho Dang Tofu is located in the back of the KS Mart grocery store. We had a very good meal, which included ten banchan dishes. For our entrees we ordered the beef bulgogi and the spicy squid. We also ordered a seafood pancake(referred to as a «patty» at Cho Dang). Topped with a bit of green onion, the slightly sweet bulgogi was delicious. Unfortunately, the spicy squid was overcooked — hard and rubbery. However, we did like the red sauce that was in the dish. The sauce was what I would call lively, versus spicy hot. In any case, the sauce was very good. To be honest, I didn’t find any seafood in the seafood pancake, though JP avers he spotted a couple of squid. At our table, our server cut the seafood pancake into slices with a pair of «shears.» Though the pancake was bereft of seafood, it was accompanied by a very nice dipping sauce. You should consider bringing a jacket to eat here, because when we were there, it was freezing in the restaurant(and the rest of the supermarket). We had to don our coats to stay warm while eating. In deciding between three and four stars for ChoDang, the very decent banchan is what tips the scale to four stars.

We were very pleased to find yet another wonderful Korean restaurant in the Hwy 99 Lynnwood area. Both the Soondubu and the Bulgogi were delicious. The main difference that we noticed with Cho Dang was the banchan. All the dishes were delicious but they seem very mildly spiced. Our favorites like Ka Won, Sam Oh Jung and New Seoul usually have a spicey bite to their dishes. We went on a Sunday and inspite of just one waitress working to a full house, we were very please with the prompt service. Thank goodness my fellow Unilocalers mentioned this was located in the KS Mart Grocery or we would have never found it. A nice bonus is to shop in KS Mart after your meal! We will be back!

I love the soon dubu and dolsot bibimbap here. Absolutely delicious. I could eat it almost every day. Service is good even when they’re busy and their ban-chan(side dishes) are plentiful. Great variety!

I was very impressed, as for location and the dining are itself I didn’t expect much. Bahn chan was great, we ordered the spicy squid and veggies stir fried, got a little extra spicy and was quite happy with the extra kick. We had a little left over and the total was under $ 15. Everything is telling me to return, so I’m sure I will.

My family eats here all the time(we are fobby Koreans – er, kinda) so there’s this place’s credibility. I am never disappointed in their specialty dish, which is obviously the tofu soup. I always get it super spicy, and it’s always satisfying. Once upon a time I did stray from my instincts and got spicy pork, a non-tofu soup dish, and was sad to report that it was not very tasty. But stick with the tofu soup, and you’ll be happy!

* Great supermarket food court spot * Located in the food court at the back of the KS Mart this little spot produces some excellent sundubu. One of my beefs with Korean restaurants in Vancouver is that they skimp on banchan variety. That beef gets highlighted when a food court spot South of the Border gives a larger variety than most of the Korean restaurants in Vancouver.(Sad, but 7 banchan is impressive in comparison!). It was a nice spread: The kalbi were well marinated, grilled perfectly, and very tender. Delicious. Photo: The stonepot rice was cooked properly, with a few peas thrown in for good measure. My favourite part was the crunchy toasty rice(as always), which I had a bit more trouble than usual removing. But it was tasty nevertheless. Photo: The sundubu itself had a nice complex broth. You could taste the richness compared to many other places, with a distinct beef stock flavour blended with the spices. The tofu was soft, silky, and very fresh. The dumplings had a skin of the right thickness so that they stayed together while not being too thick. The only things I wish they would do is give a raw egg to crack into the pot. I missed that. Otherwise a VERY good version. Photo: I would definitely go back next time I’m in the area…

I think their name translates into«SODANGGOOD!» Once located in the Paldo market, that store has since closed and is now KS Mart. Grocery store review coming up later… Food-wise, this place ROCKS! Bunneh knows her stuff and well who am I to disagree? NEVER! Banchan is a nice selection as well as tasty, I enjoyed the kimchi, both the nappa as well as the cucumber, just the right amount of kick to balance the favors of the tofu soup. Another must try is their Bibimbop the one served in the HOT stone bowl… OMG…*drool*… The stone bowl is so freaking hot it toasts your rice, and whatever else touches it, arm and fingers included! Choices and favors are solid here, we’ve been back twice in the same week! Service is done with a smile, the lady who served us actually remember us, I thought that sweet. One thing to note, they are located in the store, and do not have walls to block out the chill or loud music from the store, just bring a sweater during the winter months and you’ll be good to go! Our new Korean fav to say the least! Oh, and happy Lunar New Year!!!

If your pretty much craving for delicious, bubbling, hot soon dubu, or maybe your craving for some yummy meat. This is the perfect place for you! My favorite here is the spicy soon dubu, bulgogi, and lastly, galbe. The service here is nice, and fast. Our order came very quickly! It’s nice how it’s straight inside a Supermarket. Every time our family visits there, we always purchase some groceries. Although the KS Mart is nice, I prefer H-Mart(Please do not be offended!) Overall, Cho Dang really made me and my family smile. We left with full stomachs and smiles!
