Lowe’s Home Improvement

The morning I went there the two ladies at the paint area were the worst. They were not helpful whatsoever and they absolutely do not care for their job. They have attitudes and act like little brats. Will not be getting paint there if I have to deal with them again. Completely unprofessional.

I seriously have never seen worse customer service :(went in for an item, checked the 3 aisles I imagined they would be on. None to be found, had to track a man down who seemed less than thrilled that I was interrupting his stocking shelves to ask a question. 2x pretended he could not hear my question. Finally 3^rd time said, «aisle 10» I informed him, I had already looked in 9, 10, 11. He says «oh well guess we don’t carry, try Home Depot»
Okay, I will.

I ordered a Stakmore expandable table online on the 16^th. It was expected to be delivered to the store on the 24^th, but when I called to check on it, they said it would be in the following day. No problem. I called on they 25^th to be sure it was there, only to find out it would be there until today, the 29^th! Today I called, still not in, maybe tomorrow. Having to rearrange schedules numerous times now to accommodate the pick up of my table has been difficult and all for nothing. I now wish I had ordered from a different store, one that could deliver on time. I will not be ordering anything from them anymore. Here’s hoping the table will be in tomorrow.

Every time I come here, I have had zero problems and have always been properly helped. Lighting, plumbing, garden, always helpful and in stock. Returns are easy, people are nice. Had a situation about a week ago and Lori went out of her way to help. I personally prefer this over the color orange any day.

I seriously can’t get over the lack of customer service! Today I went in to buy some paint and supplies. I had bought tape previously, and really wasn’t satisfied with it. I asked the employee at the paint counter if there was a better brand. Rather than assisting me, I got a lecture about learning to cut without the use of tape. I think it’s ridiculous that your employees make judgements like that.
P. s. Miss, I do know how to cut, my dad taught me when I was 7. The tape was for my husband.

Absolutely garbage customer service. I came in to do a return and only had a (valid) passport for ID. I unfortunately lost my wallet and had yet to replace my drivers license. It is their store policy apparently to only accept state ID. The policy says «valid photo ID» and mentions nothing about certain type restrictions. In a pinch I have returned things at many stores, including their competitor Home Depot, with no issue with my passport. I often use it as valid ID because I don’t like handing over my street address to a $ 10/​hr cashier if I can help it. I even offered to give them all the info and pull up the DMV’s website to prove it was valid and matched my passport. Still a no, all over a $ 35 dollar return.
Lost my business, and I’ll do whatever I can to make sure everyone I know stays as far away from this big box as possible.

As a afterwork handyman i have spent a lot of time at Lowes in Lynnwood.
Pro:
Paint, their valspar brand is amazing, it is far far superior in application and durability compared to homedepot’s behr brand. Every time I talk with a paint specialist they have great tips and recommendations.
Tip, if you hate the valspar color you can get a refund easily through their website with a before/​after pic.
Price matching, Lowes will price match most anyone including
items AND then beat it by 10% I have saved hundreds.
Fasteners, I feel the screws and nail brands here are superior to other stores.
Con:

No delivery or rental services (head to home Depot for that)
Other notes, don’t discredit other lumber stores, dunns lumber has been competitive with the big box stores when the selection st lowes was lacking. On that note most of Lowe’s wood is priced by the board vs the foot like home depot.
They have gone above and beyond many times for me making this place awesome in my book.

Wow. I was just checking on the hours of operation for Lowe’s, but then I started reading the reviews. That’s a whole lotta negativity! I do try to use my local, independent hardware store (Edmonds) whenever I can, but sometimes I have to go to the chains. I have to say, though I prefer the knowledge and personal customer service I get from the guys down at Edmonds Hardware, I’ve never had the kind of bad experience at Lowe’s that all these reviews talk about. My questions always get answered, and they always point me in the right direction. Sometimes they even walk me straight to what I’m looking for, though I just prefer to be told where to find it. I’ve had paint mixed there, and they’re always pretty fast. I’m not sure why people are complaining about the parking lot, but maybe I’m never there during peak hours? The only time I had problems getting in and out was during the first week Chick-​fil-​A opened. THAT was just crazy. You’d think the PNW had never encountered fried chicken made by a homophobic corporation, or something! It’s just chicken and biscuits, y’all…not the new iPhone. Just nuts. Luckily, things have calmed down since then. So, I have to (hypocritically and sheepishly) withhold one star because it’s a chain, but I thought I needed to throw a good review in amongst all the vitriol. Take it as you will. :-)

Funny experience. Made a phone call Tuesday afternoon to set a carpet measurement. Provided the card number, expiration date and the three digits code for the $ 45 fee. Waited till Thursday night, nobody cobtacted me for measurement appointment
I called and one customer service took my number down and said someone would call me back. Nobody did. Called Friday and they told me installer didn’t contact me because i didn’t pay for it.

We got all new appliances at Lowes in Lynnwood, they price matched HD and took another 10% off. Good deal, when fridge arrived, freezer did not work. To make a long story short, the appliance manager Lance, went out of his way to swap out the fridge and make us happy by cutting the microwave cost in half. I appriciate how he dropped whatever he was doing to make us his priority. That’s the way to treat customers, totally unexpected from a big box store. Lance, you da man!

Worst shopping experience of my life. Took them over an hour to mix a gallon of paint but then they lost it. I had to come back to get it later. They said they were going to hold my cart but didn’t so I had to find everything again. When I asked where something was I would be pointed not helped. And rarely were they correct in where things were supposed to be. I couldn’t find anyone in hardware and the tool guy said he couldn’t leave his area. Pages are never answered. Everyone tries too look busy so you won’t ask them questions. All this drama for looking for three items.

I bought my appliances here. The store is pretty big and the people are courteous in person. They seemed to have a good knowledge of different brands of refrigerators. They do not know much about washer and dryers though. After I bought my appliances, the rest of the experience was frustrating and painful. Feedback to improve customer service:
1. I waited two weeks for delivery. The time window was set to morning 10 – 12 and nobody showed up till 2:30. When I called up for an update, they said the delivery guys were already dispatched and they’re on their way. Still nobody showed up till 6pm. When I called again, someone else told the truth that one of delivery guys went missing! Apparently they never dispatched anyone. Seriously? Finally they came at night 7pm —
TLDR: Stop lying to your customers.
2. Next one is the worst — They delivered a downgraded model of washer and dryer and charged me for a updated model which I had bought. Both the samsung models look almost similar. WTF? The price difference was around 100 $ each I had to go back and return it.
TLDR: They did not deliver the product that was bought and paid for.
3. Lowes held up my money for the first washer and dryer and charged me again for the 2^nd washer and dryer, because apparently its a «STORE POLICY». They were supposed to refund me the day they delivered the 2^nd washer and dryer and returned the first set — But they conveniently had technical issues when they had to refund me. They held my money for 5 more days and even then I had to call back and ask for it otherwise they would have never refunded. STORE POLICY my a$$. They did not even call me back to apologize or give a heads up that they refunded me.
TLDR: They steal your money under the cover of «store policy».
Now, I cannot speak for other Lowes stores, but this will be my last and I will recommend my friends to try HD or sears first.

This place is a bit of a train wreck. Parking lot is a nightmare, as others have mentioned. I placed an order online to make sure I got the right item, but even though they called me to say that the item was there, when I showed up, no one had pulled it.
For the parking lot alone and the general chaos of the store, I won’t be back.

All i needed was 6 4×6 8′ pt wood. I called the store ahead of time to make sure they had enough in stock. They did so i went. When i got there and found what i was looking for i noticed it all looked like garbage. I mean huge chunks were missing out of every piece they had. Instead of wasting a trip completely i found some acceptable 4×6 12′. I can’t transport 12′ long wood so i asked if they did cuts at the store. They did, so i got what i needed on a cart, took it to the cutting station and waited in line. When it got to my turn the guy said he couldn’t cut it for me… A whole store with a huge lumber department can’t cut 4×6 wood? What a joke… I walked out. Last time i go to lowes.

WOW! I spent almost $ 900 on a Whirlpool stainless washer 1 year and 4 months ago and the front is completely rusted. I called Lowes as soon as I discovered this and they couldn’t find a record of my purchase date «because they were on a DOS system». I was directed to the extended warranty number because they could look up detailed records. After being on hold for at least 20 minutes, a very nice gentleman named Daniel helped me. He tried finding a solution but said because I’m outside of the warranty period, nothing can be done. upon further digging, rust is not covered by ANY warranty.
Basically I was told by his supervisor that I am SOL and they were sorry but there is nothing they can do. It baffles me that I bought a major appliance and in under a year and a half the outside is destroyed and they won’t stand behind their products.
I followed their guidance to purchase the stainless cleaner and only wipe with water other times.
I am extremely disapointed. That was a lot of money to spend on something that is basically ruined and an eye sore in my kitchen. So sad. I will never purchase anything from Lowes again in my life and will spread the word.

Inexistent customer service! Every time we come to shop here employees are hard to find for help. When you do find them they act like they are doing you a favor. They chew gum at the register while talking to you, they make you wait forever to get your Blue Rhino propane, they simply don’t care and it is very obvious. Management must suck too because for the past 2 years that we’ve been coming here nothing has changed. What is wrong with these people?

This lowes was barely tolerable before. The store layout makes no sense and it only had one parking lot entrance. This made both the store and the parking lot cramped and slow going.
Then they added the Chick-​Fil-​A without adding any more entrances. It is now completely impassable. Takes 15 minutes just to get in or out. I will not be going back until this is fixed. And maybe not even then.

I was there today at around 7pm and it was one of the most dismal retail experiences in recent memory. Usually I go to Home Depot for my home improvement projects, and tonight just reminded me why. I had a lot of shopping to do (had a gift card from a housewarming gift) for my new house and had very specific things on my list.
No one from the store was able to find what I was looking for and no one even made a genuine effort to find it. Someone that worked in appliances directed me to the far side of the store (presumably hoping I would disappear). When I ran into him again, he just tried to look surprised as if he had actually given some kind of effort to help me.
I asked the two young men at the front counter to help, and although they just did their best in calling someone over to the flooring department, no one ever came. Someone mentioned that the «flooring guy» was on lunch, but I had maybe hoped that in a giant warehouse style home improvement store that more than one person was knowledgeable enough to help with flooring. I was wrong. I literally walked back and forth in the middle of the store and found no one able or willing to help me. You win Lowe’s, I just won’t spend my money at your store.
At home depot on highway 99 (down the road) I’m always greeted by orange aprons and everyone seems to know (more than me at least) about home improvement. At Lowe’s, even the most inept of do it yourselfers would look like Bob Villa. The employees there literally look dumbfounded when you ask them for assistance.
Although it’s too early to say this was the worst home improvement experience of the year, I can safely say that it is the worst experience I’ve had so far in my life.

I went there to get keys made. The guy working behind hardware was leaving for somewhere said he would send someone over. I was getting mailbox keys made and the auto machine didn’t fit those.
After 20 min someone finally came over. The intercom system played ‘customer service requested in Hardware’ that whole time. No one cared. She was nice but slow. A manager came over when she was finishing up and in front of all the customers in the area said all mean. ‘when you are done report to management office’. She looked concerned and sad. totally wrong for a member of management to call someone to their office in front of customers. Maybe it was nothing. Maybe he was joking?
I would give one star but the nice friendly employee in the gardening area was really friendly and fun. She seemed to be the only one with real customer service skills and who liked her job.. Looking at other reviews seems like it a a trend at the store.
What a sad place to work

I have had the misfortune of shopping at Lowe’s twice this past month. First time, I was buying a rug cleaner here due to it being the lowest price/​highest quality one available in my area. I went into the store and spotted it pretty quickly, but it was heavy and on a higher shelf, and I didn’t want it to fall on me.
Trying to get someone to help me was a ridiculous chore. Like, all I need you to do is help me with this box, but it was impossible trying to get someone to do this simple task, and I got passed off to three different employees before someone would actually help (begrudgingly). I mean, really? You can’t help me with this because you’re standing in your own department three feet away doing jack shit? For chrissakes.
Second time, I reluctantly went back to lowes to buy an inexpensive fire pit. Again, impossible to find any help, and the fire pits were thrown in the middle of nowhere in some weird corner of the store. We found them after an employee vaguely gestured to the vicinity of where they were. Thanks for nothing! The store was filthy and thrown together haphazardly. Does anyone manage this lowes? I’d be embarrassed.
I mean, I’m not expecting 5 star service from a lowes. But really? You have to be there anyway, at least pretend to do your job or at least stop being a bunch of assholes.
