R & R Star Towing

My car was towed to this lot without my permission or knowledge after I was in an auto accident.
In WA state, a tow lot can possess your vehicle after a mere 120 HOURS if you don’t pay up. This company repeatedly told my insurance company I had not «released» my vehicle to be picked up by my insurance company’s tow truck. Every day the fees racked up while they insisted I had not released it and turned away the truck.
I got a letter in the mail informing me they were going to take possession of my car. My car that I and my insurance company had been trying to get for days. The cherry on top being them saying they had not received payment from my insurance company for their fraudulent fees, when they HAD. «Fraudulent» because it would have been picked up on Tuesday (instead of not getting it until the FOLLOWING MONDAY) if they hadn’t been so incompetent and/​or intentionally trying to keep it.
At one point on Thursday I was even told by my insurance agent that the car had been retrieved, only to find out on Friday that, no it had not. I wonder who told her that?
Moral of this story is, if you find out that your car is at R&R, go down there, in person, with a witness. Even if you’re injured from the accident, even if you have to take days off work. I was lucky to eventually get my vehicle back (turned out to be totaled, but I doubt my insurance would have reimbursed me if this lot had kept it). It was almost taken from me, and I just paid 9k for it the previous year. Don’t let it happen to you!

If I could get this company –500 000 000 000 000 stars I would! My car got stuck in some mud due to the rain outside nothing major I called AAA and they sent over a tow truck to tow truck driver decided to hook my car up to his truck and back it into the fence! Damaged the whole side of my car broke my back taillight and then decides to jump into his truck and drive off without saying bye or any explanations… wow really? I then contact the company and speak to a supervisor I was assured that my car would be «towed to a body shop that they contract with and that they assumed full of liability for the damages» then comes the waiting game I spoke with the manager again who told me the issue would be taking care of after the holidays I did not hear anything back from them after the first week of January I didn’t place the call and was basically just given the runaround I’ve been asked to speak with the same manager who made the empty promises and lies. Please excuse my language but he was too much of a coward to even call or reply back and had the phone operator I secretary basically tell me «we can’t do anything about it» once again really??? You hook my car up back it multiple times into a fence damage it promise to fix it and now it’s just «we can’t doing anything for you?» Yea like the other reviewers stated do not use this company pay double or triple for you have to I’m stuck with over $ 5000 in body damages and sky auto came and got my car out of the mud within 2 minutes!!! Stay away these guys are crooks!

Hired these guys to tow my car 15 miles and the guy was a jerk. Horrible attitude and I’m paying him.

I can’t even tell you how grateful i was in a vulnerable position not expecting for my car to do this with my teenager in the car. thank you from one parent to another. The fact it was something stupid and i was panicky thank you.

I can not express the generosity presented by R and R Star Towing! I had a nightmare of a situation with a dead battery and key locked in my car. There were issues getting into it, and they tried everything they possibly could, eventually getting into it and saving my day! Also saved me the money of getting my car towed even though I was ready to. They never gave up and were kind throughout the experience. I would recommend this company for any service they offer. You just don’t find people that willing to help these days. To top it off, they shook my hand and said «this one is on us, I hope your day gets better.» Class.

I called AAA after realizing I was driving on my rim! They dispatched R&R and told me about an hour, to my delight, they showed within 25 minutes. The driver Dustin was very personable and although I didn’t have the right tool for the lug nuts, he had the one I needed. He noticed my other tire was flat which I didn’t even notice, and then he checked all my tires for me. Good guy, good company. Highly recommend!

It’s odd to see so many 5 star reviews for one of the worst businesses ever. It’s also interesting to see that there are either 5 star reviews or 1 star reviews, which tells me that either they are really courteous at times or really crappy at times. My experience was the latter. The rudest, dumbest person ever picked up the phone, told me he didn’t know he was supposed to pick me up even though my insurance company (Geico) put in the request, and he told me I had to take that up with Geico and actually HUNG UP on me. He was extremely rude. I called Geico back, and they said that they DID tell R&R to pick me up, so I three-​way called R&R back with the Geico rep, and then the dick was being all nice and innocent, and said, «Oh yeah, the request WAS sent in.» Then it took another hour for them to pick it up. All-​in-​all, it was about 2 hours waiting.
As if that wasn’t rude and dumb enough, when he came to pick me up, he didn’t understand where I was directing him, and he didn’t know where the car was even though it was the ONLY car in the entire parking lot. Maybe R&R employees should have a degree in something as a minimum requirement.
Then when he went to drop my car off, he dropped it off several miles away from the location that was closest to me. Then he proceeded to charge me almost $ 50 for it! I called Geico, and they were appalled.
Summary: rude, unprofessional, late, angry for no reason (AT ME!!!), and incompetent.

Who ever answered the phone was lazy. Didn’t want to pick my car up by 8. I needed to have my car at the shop before 9. If you don’t want business I’ll go else where. It’s not like there is a shortage of towing companys.

These guys are awesome! AAA sent them out to help me tow my Lexus and they knew exactly how to unlock the car, and got it my house no problem. They even parked my car in the garage for me– PERFECTLY! They were friendly, knowledgable and professional. I highly recommend them!

Crisis on the side of NB I-​5 with a dead car and rocks from a dump truck trying to take me out. Tim from R&R hooked me up, swept much of the rocks from the dump truck away from moving traffic, got me to a calm safe place, worked with me to sort out what the issue was, and got me to where I needed to be. A fair price and straight forward service. Thanks Tim!

My driver (whose name escapes me) was amazing. He was very professional, polite and went above and beyond my expectations. My mini-van’s alternator burned out in my driveway making it impossible to drive to my mechanic AND it was facing the wrong way for him to hook it up to his truck. He explained to me how he was going to get it hooked up and when I brought him a plastic trash bag to put over my sun roof because I couldn’t close it due to no power, he said he would jump start the van with his truck immediately and close it himself. He was very empathetic to my needs and treated me with respect and dignity. (which was lost due to the fit I threw because I left my sun roof open). lol Will definitely call these guys again if I need a tow.

My overall impression of these guys is that they’re prompt, professional, safe, and affable. I contacted them via AAA to have my car towed to the repair shop. Within one minute of getting off the phone with AAA, someone from R & R called just to give me a heads up that they were on their way. Once the tow truck driver arrived (I believe his name was Doug), he pushed my car out of the garage (while I steered). After it was in the right position, he expertly lifted it onto his truck. As he was about to take off, I busted out my wallet to pay. My AAA membership only pays for 5 miles of towing; my repair shop is a little over 5 miles away. Doug waved me off and told me not to worry about the difference. It was an overall great experience.

We were stuck on the side of the road and needed a tow. My insurance company called R & R and the gentleman that came to tow our car was very nice and very professional. I could not be more pleased with how everything turned out. He arrived very fast. I was stuck on the side of the 405 in not the best area so I was a bit nervous but he was great. Thank you

After a major highway accident, R&R Star Towing came to tow the cars from the scene, including ours. The responders were incredibly professional, friendly, patient, and helpful. I have two children in car seats, and they were able to correctly install the car seats one of the tow trucks, made absolutely sure I was comfortable with the children traveling, and kept them in sight at all times (I had to travel in a different tow truck). Their main goal was getting my children and me off the interstate as quickly and safely as possible. After arriving at the tow yard, they helped me remove all of my belongings from my car, and keep an eye on the children. In what was a terrifying situation, they were a calming, professional presence. I highly recommend.

These guys are AAA approved and FABULOUS! Fast, Friendly, Courteous. I received a phone call within minutes of AAA sending them the invoice to tow my vehicle to a mechanic. They just wanted to let me know they received the call and will be sending a driver to pick up my car. I just got off that phone call, so I’m still waiting for the tow, but I was so impressed I wanted to jump on Unilocal and praise them right away! I’ll follow up after my car gets towed but as of right now: I recommend, highly. I know needing a tow can be a frustrating experience, these guys are here to help.

Still impressed! I was recently in a fall while on vacation leaving me bumped and bruised and temporarily unable to walk so when Tom called me to let me know he was here to tow my car I explained that it was going to take me a few minutes to get to the door to give him the keys to the car. He was so generous and offered to walk up to the condo, come inside and get the keys himself. Then he made sure I was OK, told me everything was taken care of and he’d get my car to the shop! Then wished me a great afternoon with a smile and off he went with my car! If you need a tow and you are in the area CALL THIS COMPANY! I will use them again and again and will recommend if I run in to anyone needing tow services.

Had my first tow today by Ryan. It took a while for them to arrive, but they told me that at dispatch so that was ok. Ryan was nice and not scary like I feared a tow driver may be. He hooked up my WRX with ease on the mobile flatbed. His truck was nice and toasty warm when we rode to Carter. Fair price, much better than horror stories I’ve heard about (less than $ 100)! Would call them again, fingers crossed I never have to. Will also put towing under my insurance now!

R & R is the best! wally gave me some shit, so I call R&R to come pick up my car FROM wally’s yard and take it within 5 miles $ 86 bucks. wally charged over $ 360 for same mileage tow, and one night storage. and R&R was there within a ½ hour.

Just out for a birthday dinner with the family and we come out and find the tire is flat! We call AAA and out came R&R within a hour, The driver Jared was a real nice professional guy and had a pretty cool tow truck, he had it changed out with the spare in about 10 min. Even wished my mom a happy birthday, I would recommend them if you need a tow truck.

So I thought the battery died on my car. Called AAA, they sent out a battery company, who did have to change the battery, as it was old and on it’s last leg, but as we restarted the car, one of the belts snapped. Had to call AAA again, and they said they were sending out a tow company. They told me to expect R&R around 4:50 — 5:00. (it was 4:15) As I was hanging up with AAA, my other line beeped. It was Jared at R&R saying he was outside at my car. WOAH! AWESOME!
I headed out to meet him, and he was friendly, helpful and had my car loaded up in no more than 5 minutes. We headed to the dealership, where he waited until they had my car into the bay and I was safely turned over :)
I will absolutely recommend these guys to anyone I know of in need of a tow. Thank you Jared for giving me a laugh during my crappy car situation!
