We went there and the park was full of transients. There were even places people were sleeping. We were approached several times, the last time was a situation that could have turned bad real quick. The people were quite drunk for 10 a.m. This is an unsafe park. Also trash and beer cans in the off trails.

There were lots of homeless people. The wooden deck was also in bad shape. It was also very small.

I came here in Feb 2015. I guess I came in here though the back because it was so confusing where to go, there are no signs. Once I finally found the right trail. I really didn’t want to go. The place was creepy, there was a bum sleeping on a bench. There were two small bridges that look cute but the surroundings are trashy, muddy & murky. As I finally got into the clearing there is a nice long bridge that goes on top of the pond/small lake. The pond is very brown, cannot see an inch of depth. There are ducks but their scaredy cats, so no fun. I’m sitting here now, it’s okay. Besides the heavy sound of traffic & browness all around. It’s a good place to sit for a while, may be better to have some company. You should check it out at least once, it’s always fun to explore new places, that’s why I’m here :)

Scriber Lake Park is just down the street from my house. It’s basically a wooded trail around a lake. Part of the trail is a dock and the lake has ducks and geese in it. I see people fishing on the lake once in awhile. Weird. I’m not sure what kind of fish are in the lake, I’m not sure if I would eat them or if they are supposed to be thrown back or what but it’s cool, if that’s your thing have at it. Anyway, it’s a nice trail. My husband and I make this our dog walking route most days and it’s really nice. The dogs have lots of stuff to sniff and we have lots of things to look at.

I was here to go fishing with my boyfriend and his mom last Sunday. The lake was small but gorgeous! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to catch any fish but the time spent here was worth every minute. There were so many ducks an geese which is probably the reason as to why I was unable to catch any fish. However, the people that were around were friendly enough to feed the ducks and keep them company. I would love to return again to try a second round of fishing.

This is a truly urban hidden gem. My dear friend and I decided to continue cleaning the park after our earth day volunteering. So she suggested to check out this one. It seems a very quiet place so she didn’t go by herself. This park is a true gem!!! We parked the car @ Wilcox park @ 196 and walk across the road to Scriber Lake. To our surprise, the park is well maintained and is pretty clean. There are quite some observation nodes with good chair to sit and enjoy ducky floating /swimming /playing @ the lake. At one side of the lake there’re plenty of lotus as well, a good place to do your mediation in sunny day. The short trail is well paced(not at the point wheel chair friendly though). Not a lot of traffic going through the park, so I’ll highly suggest you go with a buddy.
