We had great service and a good price with our purchase of 2 refrigerators, stove, counter depth fridge, dishwasher and microwave (over $ 8000 purchase). My frustration came when the insert around the microwave didn’t fit (that cost approximately $ 170) and we asked for a new one that would fit (about 1 month after delivery). Dan, the sales person, said he would get back to me on it. After constant phone calls with no resolution, we finally talked with the supervising manager that said it was many months after purchase and we should have done something sooner. In our opinion, we did come sooner but we were given the run around. Now it is about 7 months later and we are left with a microwave in a cabinet without the surrounding insert and the company will not assist. I am very disappointed.

It’s my understanding that there is new ownership — removing my obsolete 2 star review.

I got an email from Chris and he explained that they were very busy at the time and I understand that, being a small shop, they have to handle sales first. Overall there’s still nothing they can do for me but I don’t know that it is Seattle Home Appliance of if the manufacturer is just unwilling to cover their products. Either way, I appreciate Chris taking the time to respond to my frustrations so I upgraded my rating accordingly.

Two yrs ago after our kitchen was remodeled. We bought all Kitchen Aide appliances from theLlynnwood store. We had already been without a kitchen for months. After getting our appliances put in. One week later the brand new stove stopped working. We asked for a new one they said all we can do is have someone fix it. We called Kitchen aide said if we wanted a new one we would have to talk to Seattle home Appliance. We got the run around from both parties. They sent someone to fix it we were without a stove for a month. Even though we bought it brand new. Finally got it home. After two weeks it broke down again they still would not replace it. Obviously Kitchen Aide does not stand behind Their products. I then insisted after much debate between both Seattle home appliance and Kitchen Aid. On a loner stove. It took another month to get our stove fixed. Now two yrs later or new refrigerator is not working right. Kitchen Aide is fixing it. I will give them that. But when our brand new stove broke I think it should have been replaced with a new model To this day the stove goes out off and on. I will never by Kitchen Aide appliances again. The stoves model had a computer glitch. It was a lemon from the beginning!

Great experience buying our appliances here. Also appreciated that they recycled our broken deep freezer at no charge. Al was our sales person, but Chris was great too! All the prices were better than the big stores.

I’m a local builder that simply won’t go anywhere else. If you need appliances call Chris! His level of service is above and beyond anyone else! I buy from him because I know if there’s ever a problem he will make it write. They do everything within their power to make appliances easy. I’d give them 10 starts if I could!

We bought our washer, dryer, and refrigerator here when it was still Conklin’s. Our dryer is making a sqeaking noise so I called the service dept. and the person who helped me was very rude. When I asked her how much it would cost, she said $ 85 for the trip and diagnostics. So I said can you give me an estimate of how much it might cost to repair? She replied I have no clue how much the parts will be anywhere from $ 30 – 80 maybe. So I said «I kind of want an estimate of how much it may cost because if it’s going to be $ 500 I’d rather just go out and buy a new dryer. Then she says in a really rude tone «Well you haven’t told me what’s going on with your dryer». So I said «It’s making a sqeaky noise.» She says «Well that could be your rollers, your belt, I don’t know. The tech will need to come out and look. If it’s too expensive then you can just pay the $ 85 and not get the service done.» She was very unhelpful and downright rude. I will never go back there again to buy an appliance or to get anything serviced.

Did review 4 shops in person for a dryer the sales person Al was the only one that gave me a print out on the model I was considering. Home Depot, and Lowes not even close in price, wait time for help 20 to 45 min. This shop immediate help, load time after purchase less than 10 minutes. Appreciate the parts department they have done a good job ordering parts for us.

Saleguy was a superstar. Service department half a star. Took too long to fix a 10 month old dryer. Didn’t have parts. Couldn’t tell me when. And when I went in to figure it out the guy behind the counter couldn’t tell me when it would be fixed and cut me short of my questions. Just wanted to k ow things like shipping options for part. I paid for a dryer and warranty and expect speedy service.. Very dissatisfied.

We were able to pick out or stove, have the salesman tell us the pros and cons, tell us what their price was (better than on the tag!), talk it over amongst outselves, buy it, and check out within 15 minutes. It was then delivered within an hour! You can’t beat that. The only almost bad part — they won’t install the gas appliances. But honestly, it’s not that hard!
When we were offered the delivery and removal at the end of check out I thought it was going to be a significant charge but it was $ 29! $ 29, ok!!!
In the end the service was excellent, it’s a local company, and their price beat Lowe’s.

Great appliances, great installation and great prices! I got better quality appliances here for $ 3K less than Lowes! I highly recommend you stop in before buying appliances anywhere else!

Would not accept a return even though part was unused and transaction was only 2 weeks old. Owner lady wanted to keep argueing about it long after I had given up. Went to W.L. May at 100^th and Aurora to get correct parts with friendly service. Expensive lesson, but I won’t make the mistake of getting parts from Conklin’s again.

I bought a new stove here. I shopped around some online and in local big box stores first, but really only like to spend my $ locally. Conklin has a smaller selection than a big store (obviously), but the prices are comparable, and the staff can’t be beat. They are knowledgeable and friendly (he even told me what people didn’t like about the stove he was selling). They offer delivery and haul-​away services, but since we brought a truck, the salesman drove with us to the warehouse (a few blocks away) and helped us load up the new stove right away. I’ve bought appliances from Sears in the past, and they were fine, but the service was not so neighborly. And at Lowes, you have to beg for the salesmen to help at all. I am happy with my new stove and the whole buying process, and Conklin services all appliances they sell. I’ll be back to buy the next big appliance.

Recently bought a washer and dryer here. Washer was less than Lowe’s on sale, but dryer was higher than Lowe’s. Salesman seemed knowledable. I will not buy a gas appliance from this place though as they will not hook up gas lines to appliances. Delivery people were good, but their set up was minimal. Sears did a much better job with their setup of my gas range.

Buying local sometimes means paying a little extra, and that’s definitely the case here. It would be nice to say that they offer spectacular service to go with the slightly inflated prices (I paid $ 350 for a microwave that’s $ 300 everywhere else). But they really don’t, unfortunately. They don’t fall short on anything but they don’t exactly justify the inflated costs.
I emailed them with questions and I never got an answer back within 48 hours throughout the entire conversation. I got all my answers, and they were reasonably helpful, but it always took a while.
When I went in to make the final selection, the place was fine. Clean, well-​lit. The staff was pleasant enough. Turned out that the guy who had answered my emails was on the floor that day. He answered all my questions and showed me different things in their catalogs, in case what I wanted wasn’t on the floor.
I wouldn’t recommend paying the listed price on anything here – make them work with you. Look up competing prices; Google Shopping results should give you ammo on the first page anytime you search a specific model.
They subcontract for installation, which is fine. They offered to take payment for installation with purchase – no savings, just convenient. But they didn’t tell the subcontractor. I had to tell him to ask them for a check. Oddly, when I paid, the senior staffer didn’t seem to know what the sales rep was offering me, and he had to clear it with her before running the card. That seemed odd, though not troubling or anything. She then had him make sure all the parts were there, which he went and did. But when the sub was here this morning, he ended up having to run back to the store for another mounting bolt. That’s his time and inconvenience, not mine, but, when your prices are high, it’s hard to justify little oversights like that one continuing to pile up on a simple sale.
In the end, this place gets 2.5 stars, rounded up. They’re getting one star for the minimum, another star for being local, independent, and long-​established, and half a star for just doing their jobs. The rounding up is because they never fell short, exactly. So it’s hard to justify rounding down.

warning, this business will sell you an appliance, but Lord help you if you have any problems. They first try to get you to buy a new one. I do not think a 3 year old appliance is old. We wanted a part ordered with over night postage, they failed to do that. when asked to help open the door when we left (hands were full carrying appliance out) they refused. their repair costs are very high compared to other stores. do not be fooled, do not buy from them

We just purchased a new washer and dryer here and I have to say that we’re very pleased with the level of service we received. The salesman we worked with was very knowledgable, and even suggested that we look at a less expensive option than we were originally considering. He took the time to point out all of the same features and explained how it was a better value for the money. I really appreciate getting honest, genuine help and in the end we got exactly what we wanted for ¾ the price — which was especially nice after several of the big box stores tried to upsell us on the fancy washers with many features that we’ll probably never use. We’ll definitely come back again for our other appliance needs!

Holy Smoke… we must be talking about a different company… I am a 25+ year customer and have had nothing but great service… WOW…the three times in 60 years that they must have some how screwed up are written up here but the thousands of times they have provided great service didn’t get a comment… Go figure…
Their prices are great and their service is nothing but supurb… I have been using Conklin for home and rental properties for over 25 years and have purchased all my appliance parts from them and not one complaint… well maybe one… I tried to tip the tech for job well done and he refused to take it…

One plus: decent prices. The rest? ALL MINUSES.
I bought a dryer off of them. I paid them for delivery, extra for next day service. Next day came and went. Called them and they gave me runaround excuses and said it may be a few more days. I told them forget it, I’ll come get the dryer myself.
Went there and got a refund of my delivery fee. Then they sold me what turned out to be the wrong cord for the dryer (they do not come with cords for some reason and you must buy them separately), selling me a kitchen stove cord instead of a dryer cord (they are very different and the pins do not fit in each others wall sockets).
Of course, I didn’t figure this out until I hauled the dryer home and tried to install it.
So I had to take the dryer apart myself to take the cord back off and then make a third trip back there to get the right cord. No apologizes from them, either, in fact, they treated me like I was hassling them and were pretty rude to me about it.
So while they have great prices on appliances (that’s the extra star beyond the one star), pretty much everything else about this company is a joke.

Well they have really nice appliances and great staff. BUT the owner is terrible. She has the worst nasty temper I have ever seen. She treated her employees like they were scum. I felt so sorry for them.
