We’re a real estate office that helps people buy and sell houses and other properties in Macomb and west-​central Illinois. We specialize in residential, commercial, farmland, and hunting properties.

All four of our agents — Gene Curtis, Nick Curtis, Becky Peabody, and Thelma Smiddy — are full-​time Realtors and have spent decades living in the area.

History

Established in 1993.

In 1993, we opened for business and began our franchise affiliation with RE/​MAX. Gene Curtis served as one of our office’s original founders and co-​owners. In 2004, he became the sole owner and manager broker.

Business Owner

Gene Curtis is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Illinois and a graduate of the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois, with a degree in agriculture industries. He is the owner and managing broker of REMAX Unified Brokers in Macomb, Illinois, and also active in a farming operation near Sciota, Illinois.

Gene’s family includes his wife, Joanne, a retired language arts teacher at Macomb Jr.-Sr. High and graduate of Western Illinois University; daughter, Amber; and sons, Nick and Matt. The family is a member of St. Paul Parish.

Gene’s professional affiliations include LaMoine Valley Board of Realtors, Illinois Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, National Realtor Land Institute and Illinois Chapter of Realtor Land Institute.
