We are different in that we are one of the Top 100 Martial Arts Schools in the country, teach realistic self defense moves and techniques, and use 50% hand work and 50% foot work to be balanced Martial Artists.

We are the ONLY Karate school in the area!

We teach mainly traditional Okinawan Shorin-​ryu Matsubayashi-​ryu Karate-​do, which is an old style martial art. We also offer MMA seminars, Boot Camps, Private Lessons, full pro-​shop, etc.

Ages start at 3yrs, classes are year round and you can start anytime. :O)

History

Established in 1987.

Our Forsyth Location was started in 1987 and we officially opened our Macon Location in 2009.

The owner and Head Instructor, Michael Brewster, started Martial Arts in 1993 and is currently a 4th degree Black Belt in Shorin-​ryu and a 2 tip Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu.

We consider our students part of the family and hold events throughout the year so everyone can meet and socialize.

Business Owner

Michael Brewster is the Owner and Head Instructor of the Okinawan Karate School. He teaches mainly at the Macon Location, but tries to get to Forsyth at least 2x a week.

Program Director/​Instructor Mark Wimer and Cheryl Brewster. Assistants and Leadership members Lori A., Michael C., Ty G., and Ryan B. also play a big part in classes

Sensei Brewster started training under Kemuel Ronis (original owner of OKS) at age thirteen in 1993. He received his Black Belt in 1998 his Senior year of high school. He continued training while at college and attained 2nd degree in 2000. He graduated with a dual degree (Business and Early Childhood Education) and became a 3rd degree Black Belt in 2006. 2009 received his 4th degree. 2010 received his Blue Belt in BJJ under Phillip Smith.
