Kilwins Ice Cream Chocolate & Fudge

This place is great! They have so many options, ice creams, fudges, candys, soft drinks, just so many flavors, the white chocolate fudge regular fudge and vanilla shakes are my favorites

Fresh fudge and candy which looked great. Went here for some ice cream which was edible but there are better choices on the boardwalk. Service was ok but slow.

First off, right when you walk in, you can smell all of the different flavors in the shop. It smells like a true ice cream shop. My family and I only had the ice cream and loved it. We each had a different kind, mine was cake batter. Will be going back!

O. M. G. This is a sweet tooth’s paradise! The ice cream was amazing. I got the Kilwins Mud in a waffle cone which is basically hunks of dark chocolate coating in rich vanilla with ribbons of caramel. Hubby got praline pecan which was decadently rich and nutty. But the waffle cones! Made in-​store, the aroma literally envelopes you when you walk in and they keep them under a warming light! We didn’t have the candies or caramel corn but they all looked delish and very high-​quality. Wish there was a Kilwins in my home town!

Had been riding all day. Weather was amazing and hot. This was the perfect «in between» snack too cool me off. Perfectly located at John’s way on the pier. Not too heavy of traffic given it was a weekday. Selection of ice cream is fair. They also have a large selection of fudge for those who prefer a not-​so-​chilly snack. Been here once before. Have yet to be disappointed :)

How can you go wrong with ice cream. We had the salt caramel and «special» two berry pie. Both were delicious. There were lots of other tempting items but we were able to resist and stuck to our ice cream mission. The service was okay, but not anything memorable. The location on the pier was great.

It’s too bad that the local parking enforcement is so insanely aggressive. I received a parking ticket within about 3 minutes of parking. This tourist-​centric area should re-​think their parking rules and encourage visitors.

Kilwin’s has every one of your senses nailed, and there is no escape! It is obvious they know what they are doing when it comes to location, product presentation and quality. Every store we have ever visited has about the brightest storefront in the area and they clearly display beautiful chocolates and candies in the window to SEE. Often, a few employees will be in the window area actually making fudge, exotically decorated caramel apples or other candies to entice you to enter and make a purchase.
The SMELL of the chocolates and other sweets must be silently fanned to the exterior of the building, and it also tells your brain to head inside.
When you enter, you HEAR customers discussing their choices amongst the candies and ice cream and other goodies, and the employees offer a TOUCH or two of free samples to help you decide. And the TASTE of their chocolates, candies and ice creams are great. Everything is quality stuff for sure.
You are going to pay a bit extra for whatever you purchase, and maybe even more, since this location is part of the Johns Pass tourist area. But I think the splurge is worth it.

We ordered two ice creams, rum raisin and superman (which is supposed to taste like vanilla). The first was fine but the superman tasted just bad, it tasted like serval left over flavors were mashed together. The guy taking care of us, which seemed like the owner, was very unhappy and overall unpleasant. The first cup we ordered cost around $ 5 and the superman milkshake, which we ended up just throwing away because it was disgusting, was around $ 8. Also the only thing my sister and I both are the same that day was the milkshake and we both got terrible sick. I would not recommend this place

There is just no way to walk past Kilwins and not take a deep breath to enjoy the yummy smells drafting out of the shop. Fresh made Waffle cones, fantastic fudge, candy. caramel apples and popcorn… its Sweet tooth heaven. My favorite thing here is the sea salt caramel fudge but the smell of fresh made waffle cones is hard to resist.
As an added bonus, this Kilwins happens to be located in the best dolphin watching spot in Tampa. Indulge while watching dolphins play… it doesn’t get more better than that.

Really good ice cream, diminished by the high price ($ 5/​scoop) and the grumpy old lady that was seemingly inconvenienced to help us. Meh.

Group of 5 stopped by after a hot afternoon of pillaging and plundering on our Pirate sea cruise to cool off with a some nice cold ice cream. Shop has a yummy selection of ice cream flavors along with other tasty fudge, and salt water taffy treats. Great place for an ice cream family treat anytime!

Pricey yes but worth it. Do yourself a favor and get the sea salt caramel ice cream. You can thank me later for the suggestion. We visited every night for this flavor and got a quart the last night. It’s just that unbelievably delicious. Trust me, I’m a fatty.

Feel like a kid again… The excitement of all the amazing chocolates, candy coated apples, toffee, fudge, ice cream and lots of hand made pieces. What a great place to stop in to get a quick treat. The fudge is really awesome, so don’t forget to ask for a sample.

First time at this tasty Ice Cream, Chocolate and Sweet retreat! Was taken here by a mutual friend and OMG their Banana Fudge Ice Cream was literally to die for. The staff was inviting, friendly and very knowledgeable about their products etc.
All 4 of us in our group ordered various different tasty treats. I ordered a scoop of the banana fudge as I mentioned above and it was yummy… my partner ordered a mixed double scoop in a waffle cone and the portion was large enough he couldn’t finish it totally and had to discard it:-) that’s a bad problem to have when ordering from a sweet store!
I would definitely go back to Kilwin’s when I am in a city that they have a location. By the way it was extremely entertaining watching the younger gentleman prepare and make the fudge in the kettle and forming it on the marble slab.
Definitely a sweet treat!

We spend a lot of time at the Kilwins locations in Michigan. It’s fitting that they are here in Florida, too. Top-​notch ice cream and great service. This is a big place — plenty for everyone — just keep in mind that they don’t have seating. You’ll need to walk on the pier and find a spot. Not hard to do and worth it as you look for dolphins in the bay!

Chocolate peanut butter ice cream — yes please!!!

Decadent melt in your mouth fudge! The smell alone drew me in. I tried another fudge shop in st. Armbands circle and it didnt even compare. I ended up buying the double chocolate fudge. There is a deal where if you buy 2 pieces (at $ 8 – 9 per piece) you get one free. However, that is A LOT of fudge. So I ended up buying a half piece for $ 4. They also serve icecream and sell other chocolate treats. In the back there are some greeting cards & gifts. Dont miss this cute shop if you are walking around!

There is NO ice cream like Kilwins ice cream. I’ve never seen lines in front of an ice cream store like the ones that are in front of Kilwins. While you waiting for you order to be taken, you get to watch fudge and/​or taffy being made, look at an amazing array of chocolates and nuts too choose from and, if you lucky, try a sample of something.
Once you get to the ice cream, you have you choice of waffle cones in several varieties, regular cones or in a bowl, I always choose the waffle cones dipped in chocolate… yummy!!! They also have probably 30 — 50 different varieties of ice cream to choose from as well, so be ready to be stumped by the choices.
If you like ice cream and are somewhere in the Bay Area near one of these great stores, you have to stop and try a scoop or two.

Yum! Homemade ice cream, chocolates & fudge! What a wonderful variety.
We had the salted caramel ice cream that had chucks of chocolate swirled in it. The waffle cone is also handmade, crisp & delicious. My brother had pistachio ice cream with whole pieces of pistachio nuts & my husband had Mackinaw Island fudge ice cream swirled with layers of fudge. All of us enjoyed our ice cream cones.
The display cases filled with chocolates & fudge were so tempting. With tummies filled with delicious ice cream, we decided to come back another day. I’m not sure if I’m going to have the chocolate covered Twinkie, chocolate covered Krispie or Mad Dog fudge.
