Do not use Al’s unless you’re a serious masochist.
I paid for 4 hours of moving, over 2 separate days, and a day of storage. This included 3 movers and a truck.
On the first day, only 2 showed up but only 1 worked. The other stood by the truck doing nothing, took personal calls and messed with his phone. The 1 guy who actually worked was great. But as you can guess, a very simple, small move took twice as long since there was only 1 mover rather than the 3 I was promised.
On the second day, 3 showed up and all went well. Until the end, when one of the movers wouldn’t stop hitting on me. Unwelcome and unprofessional.
Then came the billing. They tried to charge me extra, even though I technically used up less than 4 hours of their time. The extra charge was for the extra time they used up on the first day when one of their movers neglected to do his job. So, I tried calling the owner to work out a deal with him and discuss how unhappy I was with the whole move. He insulted me, yelled at me, and ended the call by hanging up on me. Seriously?
After the movers left, I realized they broke my floor lamp in half, which resulted in it flopping over, shattering, slicing my foot in 3 different places, and getting blood all over my carpet — security deposit deductions, yay!
I don’t care how cheap these guys are. It’s not worth the money you save to be treated like that.
