Seversin’s Service Center

Definitely the most convenient place to fill up and get a car wash on the east side. The wash code prints out on your gas receipt right at the pump. Eight bucks for the best quality touchless wash including scented prewash and undercarriage wash and spot free finish, and the car comes out really clean and shiny and smelling fresh. There’s also two lower levels of wash at $ 7 and $ 6. Really an affordable day brightener, this time of the dreary winter. I’m a fan.
Note: If your car rides low, or you have an extended bike rack that rides low, be sure not to go out the Fair Oaks St. side of the lot, or you will scrape loudly and painfully on the steep grade. The Milwaukee St. side exit is nice and flat.

I haven’t used them for service, but I do stop here regularly for fuel and soda/​snacks.

A friend referred me to Seversin’s as I was told last time I got my oil changed that I needed new brakes. I drive a Toyota Camry and have been taking it to the dealer for years for the oil changes. They quoted around 700 for new brakes, front and rear, stating to fix them within the next 5000 miles.
I went to seversin’s and was able to get in immediately after I called and they were able to fix my rear brakes and tell me I could keep my front ones for at least another year. They were very nice and very reasonable for labor. I was able to only pay little under 300! quite a savings. I am also impressed that he would tell me not to replace the front brakes as they did not need it yet. The honesty and integrity of the owner will keep me coming back and referring others as well! Very impressed.

Extremely poor service and piss poor attitude from employees — they attacked a personal friend of mine on Facebook when she raised concerns on her personal page about the quality of service and the price. Like Paula P. she went in for one thing and when she left she ended up having something else wrong with her car. I would suggest staying as far away from Seversin’s as possible. UPDATE: I spoke with the owner today and he indicated he would rectify the issue with his employee.

We’ve been here twice since moving to Madison, as they’re the closest shop to our home.
I’m in two minds about them, so hopefully this doesn’t get too long.
Our first encouter with them was when we were in the middle of moving from our hotel to our apartment over the weekend and our brake line went. We went in on Monday morning and asked them to tow it to their location from the South Towne shopping center. They did so ($ 60 for the tow), and had our car fixed by Wednesday morning. The price was high, but not higher than anywhere else, but not the best deal, either. So, reasonable.
However, as I was driving the two blocks home, one tire went flat. I walked back, told them what had happened, and let him know we had previously had no issues with our tires. I asked if he could tow it back or if it would be safe to limp, and he said he couldn’t tow it as their tow truck requires inflated tires (cue my suspicion of how my tire went flat in the first place), but they would also charge me for the tow. So I decided to limp the car back. At this point, my opinion of them was pretty low.
However, as I got back to my car, the service man drove up in the tow truck and said that he wasn’t sure if it was safe to limp. He checked out the tire, figured out that he could try to patch the bead, so he just took the wheel back to the shop and patched the bead. Only charged me $ 10 for that whole fiasco, so after that I had a pretty good impression of Seversin’s
Our second encounter was more recent. We hit a deer with a glancing blow. We were pretty sure that the car was mechanically fine, but we wanted to get it checked. In addition, one headlight assembly was toast, so we requested that they replace that and realign the other headlight.
It took almost a week to get our car back from that, and when we did, it was making a new sound — bubbling. After a bit of research, it seems this can be from low coolant. We refilled our coolant, and as of right now things are okay, but I am really disappointed that they didn’t address that issue, or at least tell us – especially as the body damage was near the coolant reservoir and radiator.
However, their customer service is pretty good, and they’re convenient. They also look to be good for regular maintenance.

I’m a big fan of Seversin’s. I’ve taken my Subaru Outback to Seversin’s several times for oil changes and other repairs. They’ve saved me hundreds of $$, suggesting a less expensive way to fix a crack in my engine block (I think?) that was leaking coolant and also plugging several holes in my tires, rather than trying to sell me new tires. I really appreciate their honesty and patience with a non-​automotive genius like me. I highly recommend Seversin’s for honest, fast service you can count on.
