Rock And Roll Detective serves film & TV producers, record labels, musicians, collectors and museums, by locating memorabilia, photos, lost recordings, and providing research and documentation.
Founder Jim Berkenstadt, an attorney, has been actively consulting to the Music, TV, and Film industry for over 20 years. He understands the challenges of entertainment clients in gathering and preparing relevant, accurate and entertaining content for their projects. He delivers these services quickly and confidentially. The results help to provide quality entertainment for audiences around the world.

Dubbed the «Rock And Roll Detective» by Neil Aspinall of The Beatles’ Apple Corps and other clients, Berkenstadt has spent a lifetime researching, writing and consulting in musical history. His books on the unreleased recordings of The Beatles (Black Market Beatles) and the making of Nirvana’s seminal album Nevermind (Nevermind Nirvana) are critically acclaimed. Berkenstadt, who has appeared on CNN, Access Hollywood, Much Music TV, CBS, and ABC, has served as a consultant to The Beatles (Apple Corps Ltd.), George and Olivia Harrison and The Traveling Wilburys (Dark Horse), the band Garbage, Producer Butch Vig, Maria Elena (Mrs. Buddy Holly), the Rock and Roll Trust and International Record Labels Ohigo and Resort Music.
