We contracted Tiger to inspect our home purchase. The inspector, Art, was very personable, on time, and incredibly thorough. I asked him questions throughout and he answered, and knowledgeably. Honestly, I wish he did my last home inspection. This one was more expensive, but worth every dollar.
The report was easy to read, delivered on time, and highlighted opportunities for routine maintenance to prevent future problems, as well as where systems may be reaching the end of their life based on average lifetimes. It also had a convenient summary at the bottom. Best of all, there were no surprises. The inspector had discussed every single thing with me before so I knew what to expect and understood it.
Tiger accommodated doing well tests the day before so my septic inspector could do an accurate test.

Out home inspector (John) was incredibly thorough, patient in answering questions in a way a non-​expert can easily understand. He was excellent to work with.
On a side note to first-​time home buyers: really sux when you hope to get the house that has been on the market only a week, the inspection comes back, you pay for it and the owner takes the house off the market the next day! You lose the inspection $$$ you paid.
But that’s life, I guess.

Patrick Nagel of Tiger did an inspection for an older colonial that we are in the process of purchasing in Southington, CT. He explained the process and things that may need to be looked at in great length, he is very thorough in his process, and answered all of our questions in great detail. He is very honest and knowledgeable. I would recommend him to my family and friends to do a home inspection.

Highly recommend using Tiger. We were able to schedule the inspection for an older home on very short notice which was a blessing to start with. Our home inspector provided a thorough inspection, even went up on the 3rd floor roof in a driving rainstorm to inspect the shingles and the chimney. We received a very detailed report with numerous supporting pictures, detailed notes and diagrams, as well as our full Radon test results, within 24hrs. He even identified possible asbestos that we then had tested and it was. Provided lots of useful information about old wiring and plumbing issues as well. The inspector was available for questions we had after the inspection, and Tiger recommended contractors for asbestos removal and radon mitigation that were top notch. I think they did a great job and we would certainly use them again.

David Townsend of Tiger Group did the inspection for an older home we purchased in Hamden, and did a terrific job. A good friend of mine, a carpenter of 30 years experience, accompanied us and said (as one who has little use for most home inspectors) it was the most thorough inspection and written report he had ever seen. To top it all off, more than two months after the inspection (weeks after we had purchased the home), when we faced complex questions about strategies for dealing with roofing and insulation issues, I emailed David for advice and he took the time to respond by email and then share a long phone conversation. I cannot imagine a home inspector more knowledgeable, honest, or more committed to helping his clients.
