I had new highlights done by Katerina. And I just love them. Everyone is so friendly and professional. I highly recommend William Jon it’s time for a new spring hairstyle check them out.

It was my wife’s first time there. I waited. They were very friendly offer water, coffee or soda. Very pleasant and clean atmosphere. Full range of services. My wife had very long hair and wanted to go short and a highlight. My wife when finished was so so so very happy. John did such a wonderful job. We will be back very happy. Also your in a semi private area. So everyone cannot watch.

I get it — one of the most stressful things in the world is going to a new hair stylist. This was my problem when I moved to Madison about a year ago. I spent the next few months trying several salons that were a little more affordable, but the quality just didn’t compare to my experiences at William Jon Salon.
I’m particularly picky about my hair, since I love a crazy volume and stylish hairdo that is also fairly low maintenance. Many folks who’ve worked on my hair always comment on how surprisingly thick my hair (it’s full of secrets) and difficult it is to work on, but very few have been able to make it look exactly how I want it to.
Enter Katrina, an incredibly attentive and talented woman! I showed her a reference picture of how I wanted my hair, and she spent the next hour making sure it was perfect. That entire time, we talked about random topics like wine, family, and even travel, and I felt as if I was catching up with an old friend. Without fail, I always get a ton of compliments and questions about where I get my hair done whenever Katrina works her magic on my head.
Needless to say, I have found my hairstylist for the rest of my life out here in Madison, and think it’s definitely worth paying a little bit more and loving every moment of my fabulous hair instead of saving those extra 15 bucks and sighing every time I look in the mirror!

gotta pay it forward… found myself on a bench on state street today when i caught a glimpse of my reflection in a window… hair in bun… again… i knew it was time for a cut. I perused Unilocal to find a salon that might have been reviewed by a fellow curly frizzball and bam! william jon salon appeared. they were able to squeeze me in same day with karen (who only works fridays and saturday). a few hours later, and my locks were alive again… possibly one of the best cuts to date. karen was a total genius with the scissors, working my hair in ways i have yet to experience. given how excited i am to flaunt my new hairdo, i highly recommend this place!

Katrina is the best !!! She figured out my personality… I told her what I wanted but for her to use her creativity do to my hair up-​do for my wedding. Turned out the best hair do…

A definite 5 star for Patricia. She did an amazing job for my full arm waxing. She is very knowledgeable, very soft spoken and is wonderful with her client. She joined here a month ago and I think she will be a very good asset to this saloon.

I recently decided to have my highlights redone after going to the same salon and stylist for many years and wanting a change. Katherine at William Jon did a wonderful job talking to me about what I wanted and making helpful suggestions as to what would work best. I look fantastic and it was done at a very reasonable price. I will be back!

I came here after a chain salon made me a fiery, orange redhead. I am a brunette. I never expressed wanting red hair, yet red hair I got. I called William Jon salon in tears and they made an appt for me the next day. They are not the least expensive place in Madison, but they are not unreasonable. And they fixed my tragic hair. It was amazing — not only did my stylist comfort me the entire time, but so did her colleagues. They all provided input and agreed on he best course of action — I felt like I was in good hands.
Also, it doesn’t hurt that every stylist in the salon has beautiful hair. If they have beautiful hair, then I know I can trust them =)

If you got hair color problems this is the place to go and Betsey is the person to go to. This is the 3^rd time in many years that I have gone to her to fix a bad color. I tracked her down from the other (not out of business, William Jon salon on the square). This time she cut my hair and did a wonderful job. She never makes me feel bad for what I did and she is willing to work with us who can’t afford regular salon coloring visits and attempt to do it ourselves. She has been in the business 50 years and she knows her chemistry. I hear she is great with African American hair as well. Check her out.

My friend introduced me to the salon last summer. Thank God she did. I had been looking for a good hair salon in Madison for forever. William Jon does the job well. I’ve gone to three different stylists: Sarah, Cassie, and Karen. They all have been fantastic. I’m very picky about haircuts so I’m easily displeased with the final product. I have yet to have a bad encounter at this salon. I’ve also had two manicures done. They are a bit pricey I feel, but it’s worth it knowing that I trust the all the employees working with my hair.

People here are wonderfully friendly and flexible. I got my hair cut by Karen, and she did this fantastic interesting style with my boring, long straight hair. I was a bit uncertain about it and went back a day later, and she readily changed it around a bit to suit my tastes. Now, I actually think that she was spot-​on for the first cut, but both looked really good. Three months later, it’s grown out really well.
I also go here to get my eyebrows done, and they really listen to my rather specific desires about shape.
It’s a little pricey for me, but I like to be cheap. I’d go back again though, because they do a wonderful, lasting job.

Great neighbourhood salon.
Prices are reasonable (colour = $ 150 without cut/​style, mind you, but I have A LOT of hair, so.)
They also just remodeled and now have a cool spa area…
Ok this is such a non descriptive review, but it’s late at night, maybe I should just go to sleep and come back to the review tomorrow.
Sarah, my stylist, is SUCH an expert in my hair (Keri Russell-​Felicity type curly, frizzy and A TON OF), and seriously, anyone that takes as long as they do (~1.5−2 hours) on my hair, and still have the amiability and conversation to humour me for that long gets two thumbs up. Although she’s now given birth to two beautiful boys (TWINS!) so she won’t be there for a while, however, everyone else is VERY good.
It’s also the only place that if there’s someone better knowledgeable on a different kind of hair, they’ll refer you…
But all in all, it’s a great salon.
