We offer a variety of dog training services to meet the individual needs of our clients.

Our puppy socialization program, designed for puppies 10 – 16 weeks of age, helps get the newest member of the family off to a confident and well behaved start.

We offer a number of group classes from Basic to Advanced Manners, Specialty courses and Ticks & Games to help dogs ages 5 months up to seniors learn to happily offer the behaviors their people want.

Our private in home training program is designed for those who prefer to have personalized attention and help resolving problems where they live and for those who have dogs who are not a good fit for group classes.

Whether your dog needs to learn basic skills or has bigger fish to fry (fearful, aggressive, barks, digs, destroys property, pulls on leash, jumps up, etc.) we can help restore harmony in the home while teaching your dog to enjoy working for the things he wants.

A Good Dog Day, LLC offers the ONLY positive reinforcement group training classes on the Ridge… we are veterinarian recommended and dog approved.

Business Owner

Shelly Keel, (CTC, KPA-​CTP, CPDT-​KA) is the founding member of A Good Dog Day, LLC located in the foothills above Chico, California. She is the only CPDT-​KA (certified professional dog trainer) on «The Ridge» and she partners very closely with her local veterinarians, breeders and animal shelter to help provide a unified dog training and wellness service to her community.

Shelly takes great pride in and puts a high level of priority on continuing her education so that she may provide the latest available in training methods and science based information to her clients. Shelly’s most recent educational accomplishment include but are not limited to the following:
