I have had my hair braided by Fallou African Braiding many times over the last 8 or so years. I have never paid another person /salon to braid my hair since my first visit to Fallou’s salon. The work done here is unmatched by any other location that I have visited in the Boston area and Fallou herself is a very pleasant woman, which makes the experience that much better. The prices are a little on the high end, however, I believe that in this instance, you are truly paying for what you are receiving — quality. I have had micro braids done here, countless times. The braids were secure, not too tight and allowed me to grow out my hair in a healthy manner, over a period of having them redone throughout the year. I had no issues with breakage or pain /damage to my scalp and didn’t lose any braids. Truthfully, I’ve never had so many compliment me about my hair or inquire about where it was done, as when I have been wearing a braided style from this salon. I also had a hair weave installed here and it was done beautifully. If you are seeking quality African hair braiding and willing /able to pay for quality work, you should not go anywhere else. I am constantly recommending this salon to people and will continue to do so.

I went to have my hair done at Fallou African Braiding and I was very pleased with the style(braiding in front and sawing in the back). Since I did not want to stay long she suggested a style that took less time and looked very nice on me. The price was fair for the style. For those who like nigerian movies like me, I was able to watch a movie while she was doing my hair. She has changed location the place is bigger and she sells different type of hair. I would recommend it to anyone

This place was terrible! I came here to get my hair braided for the first time, and the woman was rude, the cost was overpriced, and she completely tortured me while doing the work! She pulled my hair so hard that it hurt for weeks on end, and I suffered severe hair loss. When I returned to her salon, TWICE because of the pain, she would not loosen the braids. I ended up taking them out after 2 weeks. My scalp took over 2 months to heal! On top of that, the salon was tiny, dingy, and had no air conditioning, in the middle of the summer, and it was sweltering hot. I truly felt I experienced torture here. I would NOT recommend going to Fallou. There is a much better place 5 minutes away called Intimate Whispers Hair Salon on 676 Salem St. The owner Judy is much more talented and her work did not hurt me at all. She was apalled when she saw the condition of my scalp and assured me the braiding didn’t have to be so incredibly painful. In short, I had an awful experience here!
