. Hi, have you ever went to Paris and shopped at a magnificent and cozy and stylish boutique? Well neither have me, but here is your chance to experience a taste of French without leaving too far from your house. Welcome to Summer St. Fruit in Malden, Massachusetts. They serve all the standard store things in America like candy, chips, and gambling tickets. Did you know in May 1974, Massachusetts became the first state to sell instant lottery tickets as an alternative to the weekly jackpot game? Neither did my Auntie. Also they sell bottles of wine and spirits (the real kind, drinks with alcohol) as if you are in Europe. It feels so fun and fancy to go there. I got Kangaroo themed wine.

My bad — they do sell fruits and veggies! Not a full produce section for sure, but they had onions, oranges, and bananas when I popped in last night. I was craving blue box macaroni — bam, they had it! Kudos to the full shelf of wine and the amazingly nice cashier. Their little screen door takes me back to the country stores of my youth. Only difference is that here there’s a Keno addict hanging inside instead of slack-​jawed Tarheellies.
