I wanted to pick up some breakfast before heading out to the beach. First of all, Lily’s is prime location — right off of PCH and 1 mile from Zuma Beach. It was really convenient to stop by to pick up a breakfast burrito prior to a beach day. However, the wait is pretty bad — 30 minutes for a single breakfast burrito. I guess a lot of people call in their orders to avoid the wait, but oh man, it didn’t even seem busy. I also don’t understand why the wait is an entire 30 minutes for ONE burrito. The burrito is pretty simple and I can’t imagine why it takes that long. However, I think it’s nice that they warn you about the wait before you pay. I was in no rush, so I decided to get some coffee while I waited. The burrito is solid, but nothing out of the ordinary. It is predominantly bean and eggs with maybe 2 strips of bacon. Honestly, how could you go wrong with those ingredients? It was a little plain, but was still pretty tasty. It would definitely have benefited from having some avocado added(after I ordered, I saw that you can have some added). There are a few types of breakfast burritos but there are no descriptions on the menu, so you’ll need to ask them to tell you the difference. The burrito comes in two sizes — medium($ 7.50) and large(I think $ 9). It’s pretty filling, but not food coma inducing filling. Very respectable burrito and prime location, but definitely not worth the 30 minute wait.

So, this place is well-renown for its breakfast burritos and it lives up to the hype. Call in your order ahead of time to save yourself a long wait! The owner is super sweet and loves having Pepperdine students at the establishment. The restaurant itself is fairly small, so take your food outside and grab a table on the patio. Menu is fairly simple and that’s what keeps this place in tact with its roots: authentic Mexican food. Great place to go with friends, but be cautious of big crowds on weekends.

I love Lily’s breakfast burritos. They’re so big, warm, filling and delicious… they’re my favorite end to a nice cold morning surf session. I usually surf at Zuma, and my day is a good day, when you’ve changed into warm clothes, but you’re still cold from the water and stuff, and the Lily’s burrito is worth the wait. I say worth the wait, bc you have to wait. Since each burrito is fresh, you legit have to wait wait at least 10 minutes for your food. And that’s on a not busy time. Sometimes it’s so busy that you have to wait 20 if not longer. By the burritos are worth! Also they don’t do card for transactions less than $ 10. Also I’ve ordered out with them before, they’re more difficult to work with if you have specific orders, but if your group is chill, it’s pretty easy.

One of the best breakfast burritos available anywhere. I go for the chorizo and bacon breakfast burrito. Their hot sauce is super delicious. Lily is very nice and so is the rest of the staff. Everything besides the breakfast burrito is good, but not fantastic.

If I could have Lilys breakfast burrito everyday, I would. This place is amazing. My advice is to call ahead and place your order over the phone at least 30 minutes prior to chow-time. I’ve been coming here for the past 8 years and it never disappoints. Be sure to try their yellow salsa. It’s heavenly.

A great place to pick up a burrito before heading down to Pount Dume for some sunshine and breathtaking views! The service was quick and attentive(you order at the counter and they bring you your dish to your table of choosing). Smaller space — so may be hard for larger groups but great for catching a quick bite while swinging thru the neighborhood, or while shopping in the area. I can’t personally handle spicy sauces — but if you can — my boyfriend and his buddies are in love with their green sauce!

Food is relatively good but not special. There just aren’t a lot of options around here. Also very very slow. I’m not sur I understand the positive reviews. Also I agree the service seems like they aren’t that interested in being friendly. Like for a counter place, they tell each order it will take 25 minutes. For a burrito?

Mexican in the morning! The woman who took my order actually came out into the customer area and proceeded to eat a breakfast burrito with the rest of us. I even managed to get the WiFi password from her with her mouth full. Almost fast as it is fresh.

I was headed over to Point Dume to spend the afternoon walking around and enjoying the beautiful weather outside. We were coming up around lunch time and of course my brother was looking for something Mexican. So I opened up my phone(weird how we still use that term even though flip phones are long gone) and clicked on the hand dandy Unilocal app. Guess who had 373 reviews with favorable reviews every single time? You guessed it, Lily’s. Lily’s is tucked away within a shopping center such that if you weren’t looking for it you would never know it was there. It must be one of those hidden local favorites because there was at least a 30 – 45 minute wait for us for our tacos and burritos(reminds me of a South Park episode). Anyways, what I learned from everyone is that A. when you order something«grande» be prepared for something, well, Large and in Charge and B. you should call in your order ahead of time and come and pick it up. Clearly they are famous for their fish tacos and burritos. Everyone was ordering it. Absolutely delicious. I also ordered some tacos, some of your run of the mill carne asada flour tacos… mmmmm my favorite. They were amazingly spicy so if you have weak mucosa, perhaps you will have to request them to turn down the flame. I found them to be quite affordable and quick but VERY busy. They had many many people there even though we were ordering around 1. We spent time at the bookstore across the way which was neat but only occupied about 15 min of our time. The rest was spent mozying around since there really wasn’t anything else in that shopping center. I given them a strong 4 star recommendation and I firmly believe they meet the tasty scale standards of most of you out there. Plenty of parking but can be parked up quickly mainly because of this restaurant.

Up with the best burritos I’ve had. 4 Stars are for great burritos and for the laid back class Malibu feel. Had the breakfast burrito the day after Christmas, 12/26/2015, and it’s the perfect blend of beans, bacon, and egg. Tip: call ahead and order a take out, then when you pick it up, grab a table.

I’m giving this place a 2 star because there really aren’t a lot of choices around here for breakfast, but I personally will never come back. The breakfast burrito had cold refried beans in it & disgusting fatty meat. So gross! The breakfast sandwich was even more disgusting. You would be better off going to a fast food place. Can’t believe this place has four stars.

A great way to kick start the day — after just one visit, I can already say I’m a huge fan of their carnitas lunch burritos and their coffee. A perfect pit stop for anyone heading out to or leaving from Malibu

Diarrhea. The food gave me diarrhea and my kids a stomach ache. I am just glad we took left overs home. Would have been sicker had we eaten the whole meal there. Ended up throwing the rest of our food away. Order takers in front were just unfriendly, curt and rude. After 45 minutes of waiting, I pointed out that our food was not up yet, when they said at order time it would take 20 to 25 minutes. I did this nicely. Saw people come in twenty minutes AFTER us get their food BEFORE us. I pointed this out to them. No apology. No explanation. No nothing. Just tainted food. No fork. No knife. No offer of hot sauce. Just suley order takers and ZERO management. Where is the manager? Place is popular. I can’t fathom why. Seems like the only Mexican food in Malibu. Even so, without the diarrhea, the food, the place, the service, the bathrooms doesn’t deserve anymore than a one star. Want water, it is out of the tap, finger tips on the rim. Just check out the slop my kids were presented with.

I have been here a few times. This is a gem spot when in Malibu for great Mexican fare. The breakfast burritos are the more popular item here(served all day). Lilly is very nice as well as the rest of the staff. The inside is nothing fancy. I like to sit outside, there is lots of comfortable seating. I usually go light on the beans, because although they are good, they can be overwhelming. The breakfast(bacon and eggs) and the chorizo burrito are very good. I have also had the chicken tamales which are outstanding. The salsa is very spicy so be careful. They get very busy so you should try to call an order in for pickup if you go here.

Alright, I’ve been coming here for 3 years now and every time I get the breakfast burrito. SUEME, I WON’T GETANYTHINGDIFFERENT. Why? Because it’s the best damned breakfast burrito you’ll ever have so long as you don’t have any food allergies or have a 6 year old’s food preference. Nobody else serves a breakfast burrito without potatoes and with refried beans. This is the most glorious combination of perfectly prepared ingredients I’ve ever encountered for a breakfast burrito. Eggs, bacon(almost too much, but that’s not even real), refried beans, house cheese blend. Plain and simple. But each of these ingredients are singlehandedly better than most other’s entire breakfast burrito in and of itself. I’ve tried SOMANY breakfast burritos, all being held as «the best.» I’m sorry to say, fiends, but none even come close to Lilly’s. Also, it’s in a class of its own because nobody else uses refried beans, so keep that in mind. Call ahead, by about 45 minutes if you want your food when you arrive. You’ll have to call many times because so many people are trying to get this Burrito created by God himself. Other menu items look good, but I know for a fact I will regret ordering anything else not because I won’t enjoy it, but because I’ll be regretting not ordering a breakfast burrito. Also, the salsa is bomb-diggity. Buy it, eat it, fall in love. If you don’t like this breakfast burrito you’re wrong.

I pretty much eat here and sun life everyday. But I could actually afford to eat here. Like full meals. I go low carb most days with the chicken plate with salad.

$ 10.00 minimum for credit card transactions. Won’t be difficult to get to the minimum. My fish burrito was $ 8.75. The inside is a bit small but there is a nice large patio shared with neighboring shops. They have medium and large sized burritos. First time I’ve seen a size option but nice to have a choice. 45 minute wait time for a burrito. I ordered the large fish burrito and my date ordered the breakfast burrito. The fish burrito was HUGE, I couldn’t finish it. Luckily my boyfriend also acts as a human garbage disposal so nothing went to waste. The burrito was filled with fish that was mild and flaky with a nice light batter and the typical shredded cabbage blend. The salsa was pretty good but living in San Diego has made me the ultimate salsa snob and it didn’t make the top of my list. The breakfast burrito looked good and was gone in seconds so I’m sure it was tasty.

Bit of a wait for the food(they say 30 min, but it was about 15 in reality) but so worth it! Got the fish burrito which comes with rice, beans, tomato, lettuce and everything was evenly distributed. I love that the fish is chopped up and not just a piece of fried fish in the middle of the burrito. Delicious horchata. Friendly service! Wait for your order inside then go outside and enjoy the sunshine.

If you’re planning on eating at Lily’s, you really should be calling in your order. It could take about half an hour to get your food, so it’s in your best interest to plan ahead. I’ve passed by the restaurant every couple of months and it always been busy during lunch. Since I’m usually on a time crunch, I skipped their offerings for something much quicker. This past weekend I tried calling in my order, but Lily’s had a busy signal. It took about 6 times before finally got through. I ordered one large breakfast burrito. At $ 7.50, this is a very reasonable price. The burrito was a monster! I was full till dinner. The tortilla was thick enough, but nice and chewy. The burrito itself tasted primarily of beans and eggs, but there was I believe 2 strips of bacon inside. Overall, a very respectable breakfast burrito. Note: The green salsa has a little kick. It also tastes peculiar. I don’t know what it is, but it’s not a normal green sauce.

Lily’s is a local favorite. I worked in Malibu for 5 years and this place was a weekly spot for breakfast burritos with my staff. Lily’s breakfast burritos are the BEST. I grew up in East LA and I know a good, authentic breakfast burrito. The usual comes with beans, eggs, cheese and bacon, and delicious house made hot sauce(on the side). They also have chorizo and sausage options and other breakfast plates. TIP: Call ahead to order because the line is usually out the door and the phone is ringing off the hook. They make hundreds upon hundreds of burritos every day. If you don’t call ahead, be prepared to wait 30 mins for 1 – 2 burritos. It’s worth the wait but calling might make you happier. They have other food throughout the day as well as beer and wine. Lily herself is there every day and she’s usually the one to ring you up. She and the staff are very kind and though it’s busy, they are efficient. Accepts cash, debit and credit.

This place is the bomb. My favorite plate is the 2 chicken tacos with a side of rice. The food is always so fresh and tastes homemade. Reminds me of a restaurant my mom would want to own. If you are in the area and looking for a bite to eat, I would highly recommend trying Lily’s. There is always a wait though, so bring your patience & your appetite. It’s so worth it!

Lily’s breakfast burritos are basically a food group for Pepperdine students so I know them all too well(but trust me, I’m not complaining)! Tip number one: before you even go, CALLAHEAD. This is an absolute must unless you’re down to wait half an hour(on a good day) for your food as you watch other groups of people come in, pick up food, eat it, and leave, all while you still don’t have your order. Don’t torture yourself like that. Yes, you walk in and it looks like a place that makes quick Mexican food, but the service is anything but quick. Actually it’s VERY slow. Straight up. Even if it’s empty, probably about a dozen people have already called ahead of you so don’t trust that it will be a short wait. We’ll just say they take their time to make sure everything is juuuuust right. Well, they say«good things come to those who wait» or call ahead or whatever so what I’m getting at here is that in the end, it’s worth it. The breakfast burritos are delicious, filled with eggs, creamy refried beans, tons of cheese, and crispy bacon. I always add French fries(or «potatoes») too because why wouldn’t you do that? Make sure to get some of their hot sauce on the side but watch out because it is NOT messing around. Super spicy stuff here, folks. Wash it down with some of their horchata! Besides the breakfast burritos, one of my friends tried some of the pastries here once and said their donuts are the best he’s ever had. Hmm, who would’ve thought! But don’t come for that, come for the breakfast burritos and leave satisfied and wishing you could eat one every morning.
