Ok, this review is looong overdue. We came here to celebrate our third anniversary and had a lovely evening. Being that it was on a Monday and the week of Thanksgiving it was not crowded at all. All of the employees were extremely nice! My boyfriend had called ahead and they graciously sat us right next to the window where we could see the waves crashing in as we dined. It was beautiful! They give you a huge basket of fresh bread which went nicely with our delicious lobster bisque. We also ordered the crab cakes which were excellent. At that point, I’m glad we decided to share an entrée. We chose the new your strip and lobster mashed potatoes. The steak was definitely in the top 5 steaks I’ve ever had! The lobster mash was also good but not something I would probably order again unless we were in a larger group. The portion was huge! For dessert, we had to try the infamous butter cake. They knew we were celebrating and brought us out a slice of chocolate cake on the same plate — both we little with candles. So sweet! The butter cake was very good and RICH. The best way I could describe its taste is a warm white chocolate macadamia cookie a la mode. The chocolate cake was good also, though I feel like if I’m going for it I’m really gonna go for it and wanted it to be a tad sweeter. Nonetheless, great food and amazing service! Lovely evening all around.

One star for location, second star for live music, and the ‘meh’ food didn’t deserve a star. Wednesday Night First of all, I had a reservation at 8:30 and arrived around 8:05 — 8:10. There were empty tables but we were asked to get a drink at the bar before being seated(typical sales tactic to increase revenue). Got our drinks and shortly after got seated. The live music/singing is amazing! Their voices and talents are superb. The drinks were strong but didn’t have a taste. A cocktail is supposed to be sweet and yummy. These were what seemed like alcohol, water and a splash of lime. Yuck. Waitress was a typical pushy one who at first seemed like she was being friendly, but very short. I asked«which of steaks on the menu do you suggest?» She replied with«ribeye… Blah blah blah… Grass fed… Blah». I was thinking of getting the ribeye so immediately I agreed to it and said«I’ll take that!». She quickly added on like a viagra commercial specifying side effects, «okay! It’s one-fifteen($ 115) and worth every penny». Giving me the price AFTER I agreed to it and thought it was on the menu. Hmm okay. The seal comes and the only thing different about this was the bone was left longer than the normal ribeye. I asked for medium and it was a shy away from rare on the inside. No taste and very bland altogether. We also ordered lobster mash potatoes which came with what seemed to be orange oil that almost reached the brim of the plate. I thought to mixed it – but that didn’t help. I couldn’t even taste the mash potato bc it was so oily. The few pieces of lobster didn’t impress my taste buds either. My friend got the scallops which were a few pieces decorated with thin slices of toasted bread – also wasn’t anything special. Don’t think I’d go back.

Don’t waist your money!!! We went there for a friends birthday with a party if 10. To start off, as soon as I entered the dinning room, I was told to remove my hat by a gentleman who appeared to be a manager because they were not allowed in the dinning room. I did not think anything of it, and gladly took it off, until 10 minutes later when I saw a Caucasian gentleman sit down at the next table wearing a hat, and it was not until we approached the manager did they ask the other gentleman to take his hat off(strike one). We had 2 servers, and 3 bus boys, more than enough staff to take care of our party you would think. We were sat at 7pm, and it took over 45 minutes before we were able to put our drink orders in, and we were given menus. Finally after about an hour and a half they came to take our orders for dinner. After taking 3 peoples orders, the server walked away to go serve another table their dessert, I thought that’s why servers had runners to bring out their food. Another 15 minutes past before our server came back to finish taking our orders. Side note, I saw 4 tables that were sat after us that got their food and were paying their bill by the time we finished placing our order. Once the food arrived around 930pm, half the table had to send their food back because it was cooked completely wrong, as well as they forgot 2 of the side dishes we ordered. By the time they brought back out the messed up food, and forgotten orders, the other half of our party was already done eating(strike 2). Finally everyone was done, and they brought the check. They ended up comping the birthday girls meal, and dessert for the table, so the bill came to about $ 850 or so. We devided the bill up evenly, 3 people paid their part in cash, a total of $ 350, and the rest was on cards. The change should have been $ 165, but we were only given back $ 65. When we asked the server, she said we had only given $ 250 cash. Her partner server said yea you guys gave 10 $ 20 dollar bills, and 3 $ 50 dollar bills. I told him that adds up to $ 350. At this point he knew he was caught, and went into his personal wallet, not server book, and pulled out $ 100, and gave it back to us(strike 3). Long story short, if your looking for sub par service, to be profiled because you don’t fit into their idea of preferred clientel, to pay a lot of money for adequate food, and to have your server try to swindle you into giving them a bigger tip, this is the place for you. If not, then avoid it by all means!!!

Supremely disappointed by our overall meal and experience. We took a client there when I was visiting LA after him and his wife had heard good things. They love the regular Mastro’s and the expectations were high so they were even more let down than we were. Expect a high bill, average service, and at BEST average food. At the waiter’s rather pushy recommendation, we ordered a seafood tower to start. We got 3 shrimp, one lobster, 3 stone crab claws, and a few oysters. Truthfully nothing on that tower was amazing or stood out. And for $ 55 a crab claw, it was tremendously difficult to open! We ordered the lobster mash, crab gnocchi, and sprouts to share at the table. My husband and I got the crabcakes and filet to split. My client’s wife got the ahi tuna and he got the ribeye. The lobster mash and crab gnocchi were SO average it actually hurt. The mashed potatoes tasted like potatoes with some lobster tossed in at the last minute and you couldn’t even tell there was crab in the gnocchi. The entrees were all just OK, certainly not worth the price tag. Our meal ended up being $ 800 and each of us only had ONE drink each. Needless to say we will never be back to this location(we also had to pay to Valet park). I sadly would not recommend Ocean Club and my dining companions all felt the same if not more strongly on the bad side.

Brunch Having had dinner at Mastros B. Hills on multiple occasions, I was disappointed with my dinner at Mastro’s Ocean Club about a year ago. Fortunately, I came back for what was certainly one of the best brunches in LA and probably in my life! The server Rich was incredibly professional and gave VIP service.

I’ve only been to the Beverly Hills location, but the Ocean Club location offers sushi, so me and my meat buddy decided to go check this place out. He made a reservation for 7:15 and we both got there early so we grabbed a drink at the bar. Bar was pretty crowded, some people drinking and some eating. I got a mojito which was delicious and strong and then we checked in to see if we could get seated early. They sat us on a side seat, which was fine but a view would have been nice. We ordered the ahi tuna tostado and the Magura lime to start. Both were delicious! Then we ordered our steaks — I got the 12oz filet and he got the 22oz bone in ribeye. We shared the the roasted brussels sprouts, the gorgonzola mac and cheese and unfortunately they didn’t have the shoe string fries that we normally have at Beverly Hills so we had to settle for the regular french fries. Everything was delicious and we were stuffed, but of course had to save room for the warm butter cake! I love Mastro’s but probably only eat here once a year because that’s all I can afford. Its quality steak but with a price tag. I also really like this location, feels a little less pretentious than Beverly Hills but with fewer celeb sitings. There was also a band playing near the bar which I thought was very cool.

What more can you ask for Mastro’s food with a beach view. We went at sunset and enjoyed the view. The food doesn’t disappoint. I loved every bite. I recommend: Sauteed Shrimp Hawaiian Auhi Tuna

Mastros Malibu has the best service I have ever seen at a restaurant in my entire life, and as you see from my Unilocal I always go to restaurants. I love the dinner menu most. Great red wine selection and great champagne. I love the crab truffle gnocchi, lobster Mac and cheese and filet. I must also mention the view of the ocean is amazing. Even better than the one in Las Vegas City Center where you get walk pass the Jimmy Choo store. I love leaving and hearing the waves. I love going late night, it’s so romantic. I also love the live music near the bar. It’s like smooth jazz soul. Awesome! (Note I still love the bartenders at Katsuya Brentwood but IJS I love them too. I don’t mean to be a cheater but I’m just saying that Dominic the bartender that works Saturday brunch, Monday Tuesday and Fridays changed my life I love him) I love you Mastros I hope you love me back.

Having never been to Mastro’s in BH, and hearing so-so things about Mastro’s Ocean Club(RIP charthouse), I didn’t know what to expect. But some good friends invited us to celebrate a special 8-year-old’s birthday this week, so we met at Mastros OC for an early dinner. We arrived at 5pm, just as the sun was setting, and it was magical! I live in DC and we dont get beautiful sunsets, so this was definitely a treat for my last night in LA. We had a great table all the way in the corner, and bravo for Mastro’s for accommodating our table of 4 adults and 4 children. Our waitress, Sarah, was a 10! And all the staff were so nice picking up thrown things from the 1 year old, and bringing extra pretzel bread for the older kids. Truth be told, I wanted some extra pretzel bread for myself! All the adults started with Martinis, which were large and generous, and they even bring the shaker and leave it on the table for seconds! My mom was legit drunk from her 1 martini and I had to drive home… We shared the crab cakes and tuna tartare appetizers, which were good, standard, nothing amazing, and we all got steaks for dinner. I got the 8oz filet, and it was so amazingly good, melt in your mouth smooth, and buttery. Im crying a little right now thinking about it. We ordered the signature lobster mashed potatoes, which were just OK, i wouldnt order it again, especially considering the hefty price tag. The potatoes were a little gummy and the lobster had zero flavor. Overall, I was super impressed by the whole place. I was gonna knock off 1 star because it is really outrageously expensive, but then I remembered our friends paid for dinner and the star came back lol. This is for sure a special occasion place, and Ill hopefully be invited back soon by another generous friend(just kidding!)

This is the best Mastro’s location I have ever been to. The location is beautiful with ocean front views, delicious food, and amazing service. If you are in need of a classic and tasty meat, I say splurge and go to Mastro’s Ocean Club. My boyfriend made reservations in advance. We were celebrating our 2 year anniversary :) We had a reservation for 5PM, but we wanted to go a little early to see the sun set and enjoy a cocktail. They were happily able to accommodate. We sat by the bar and I had my usual dirty gin martini and watched the sun set by the ocean.(super cheesy I know lol but it was just the perfect occasion). Anyways, their martini was really good! I got it with Hendrick’s Gin and they served it with a blue cheese olive. I love the perfect ratio of gin to olive juice. It was subtle and I enjoyed how you can still taste the gin. However, I wasn’t the biggest fan of their blue cheese olive. I should’ve gotten it with regular olives but it was definitely worth trying. FOOD: They give you a complimentary basket of bread and lots of it! They have an amazing pretzel bread, a parmesan crisp, and a fluffy baguette. They give you a simple butter with sea salt sprinkled on top which was divine. My boyfriend had to physically stop me from eating all the bread because it was just going to get me so full. LOL but I couldn’t help myself, it was THAT good. Then we got an order of a crab cake. You have an option of ordering one or two and we shared just one. The perfect appetizer with plenty of meaty and sweet crab. Highly recommended. For our entrée though I got an order of their bone in filet mignon and we shared the lobster mashed potatoes(omg so good by the way) and their macaroni and cheese. Yes, it sound really heavy and filling but we made room for it anyway. The meat was seared to a perfect medium rare and it was seasoned just right. What truly amazed me was how tender and juicy the meat really was. Having the bone in my filet truly made a difference. It was definitely way more flavorful and fatty. As for the sides — delicious and decadent, but it was so worth food comaing out afterwards. They hooked it up with lobster for the mashed potatoes. They were generous enough to give you plenty of meat and the potatoes were still creamy and smooth. I loved it! The macaroni and cheese was very cheesy and extremely rich. Out of the two, I preferred the mashed potatoes. They gave us a complimentary chocolate cake that said, «Happy 2 Year Anniversary» with a candle on top of the cake. It was really cute and a thoughtful gesture. I just wish they gave us a different option of the dessert. I was really hoping to eat their famous warm butter cake! Regardless, the cake was good but very rich and heavy. I barely had room for this just because the cake was so dense and extremely chocolatey. PARKING: We did valet which was only $ 9. SERVICE: Extremely well done! All the servers and bartenders were friendly and thoughtful. They were also very knowledgeable about all the food and ingredients. I always respect a server who knows what they are talking about. Overall, amazing restaurant. If you are celebrating a special occasion, you should do it here!

I can NOT believe that I have never ever Unilocaled about this place!!! I go there about 5 times a year we do like to do most of our celebrations there especially for Father’s Day we usually go to the Beverly Hills location more often than the Malibu just because it always smells fishy and I hate that. I’m gonna go a head a write about my last experience which was the worst one ever unfortunately. I had family visit from over seas and it so happens that it is my uncles birthday! So I thought, I am going to wow the heck out of him and take him to the Malibu location so he can enjoy the beach as he’s eating. We reserve a table next to the window so we can enjoy looking at a beautiful view of the ocean front and that day particularly the fish odor was at its all time highest, I know they can not control the smell from the ocean but still it ruined my life haha We walk in the place is classy as always filled with people and waiters and hosts are everywhere welcoming everyone taking orders and everyone at my table decided to eat a eat the sea bass and I opted for Caesar salad! The order comes and the sea bass looked SO nasty and sooooo FAT and THICK and sooooo raw from the inside that even my uncle who served in the army and had to eat raw crap all the time couldn’t even eat it and I think oh thank God I didn’t order anything like that, I take one bite of my Caesar salad and it’s as if I took a spoon full of salt and fish, I directly spit it in a napkin and we leave our plates as is. And then the manager comes with HUGE attitude problem was not helpful and we told her that we are not used to this kind of service or food from Mastros, we always have the best time here and her response was oh today is a Tuesday and we have a different chef… Really?! That’s your response so the heck with Tuesday people? They get the shitty chef? Unacceptable especially when each plate is over $ 50 and we go all out when we order. So since that day I have never been back to this location still a little upset over my experience.

This is literally as good as it gets. We were lucky enough to get a reservation with a Oceanside table on a Saturday night and it was spectacular. There is truly an elegance just walking into this restaurant and seeing the décor along with the vast amount of staff on duty. My family and myself started with the crab cakes which had delicious lumps of tender crab meat, the shrimp cocktail which was awesome, as well as the ahi tuna tartare which was perfect. It was flavorful and incredibly fresh. For our main course we ordered everything family style and when sharing I highly recommend this way of preparation. We had the halibut, filet and ribeye. All were great but I’d have to say the ribeye was exceptional. The butter cake dessert was great as well. A must get. The service was amazing and I can’t wait to be back.

I’ve wanted to bring my fiancé here for quite a while now and decided to reserve a table for her birthday. First off I have to say, this restaurant is beautiful! The way it structured and Kaye’s out is magnificent. Once you walk in and begin walking to your seat, your entire view is an amazing view of the ocean by these huge windows. The mirrors have lights illuminating from behind them, the bar area is lit up with colorful bottles and the live music just ties everything together. The service is beyond imaginable! Our waiter’s name was Dennis and he was extremely polite, tentative and very personable. He made sure our glasses were full, explained every detail made sure to inform us of all the off the menu specials. Now for the food! OCEANCLUBCRABCAKES — these were amazing! Extremely flavorful and the crab was so soft and baked to perfection. 8OZFILLET — I’ve probably mentioned this before but I’m not really a steak person, but MAN!!! This was hands down the best steak I’ve EVER tasted. My fiancé gave me a bite and I almost dropped everything. She asked for some steak sauce in the beginning and the waiter said, «ma’am taste it first. You want need any steak sauce and walked off» when he came back to ask if she still needed any, we both agreed that he was ABSOLUTELY right. Steak sauce was definitely not needed there! The steak had so much flavor and was tender and soft. Best steak period! CHILEANSEABASS — I really can’t explain what’s going on in that kitchen but I need to find out what kind of ovens they are using back there. All of there meat is soft and cooked to perfection. The fish was extremely tender and juicy. The fish was lightly breaded or something but the inside was as white as a cloud. It taste like they just caught the fish that day. Every bite was like a light buttery, non fishy masterpiece that just melted in your mouth — make sure to take advantage of the lemon they provide on the side. I highly recommend this dish. BRUSSELSPROUTS — lightly charred and complimented our meals perfectly. The sides are enough to feed 3 people. I didn’t understand the concept at first so next time we’ll probably do two sides to complete the meal and this will be one again. Very good if you like brussel sprouts. CALIENTEBREEZE — my fiancé ordered this and I’m not really sure what was in it but it tasted pretty spicy with jalapeños in it. She enjoyed it and I just thought it was ok. I don’t really like spicy food so already know I don’t like my drinks spicy lol. STRAWBERRYMULE — Svedka Vodka, Monin Strawberry Purée, fresh lime juice, basil leafs with Fever-Tree ginger beer and garnished with a fresh strawberry. This was delicious! Moscow Mules are my drink so whenever you can mix it with any fruit I’m a happy camper. This will be my signature drink here from now on. If you love mules like I do, don’t pass this one up! It was pretty strong too. CHOCOLATECAKE — Complementary birthday cake wasn’t that great but it was free. I took one bite and let her enjoy it. It was a nice gesture and they brought it out with a candle while wishing her a happy birthday. Very cool! Overall, this place is the real deal! I’ve been trying to take her to experience new places for our date nights and I think Mastros kind of messed everything up lol. All we want is Mastros all the time now. Beautiful place, great service, excellent food and great live music! You can’t ask for much more than that. Oh yea. Tommy Lasorda was right across from us for you Dodger fans! OOOOO 5 out of 5 Afros

Overall great. The Grade A5 Japanese Wagyu was a bit cold let in the center but still delicious. The tomahawk 26oz was delicious but slightly over cooked(asked for medium rare+, came out medium). Brussels sprouts were perfectly done. The wine list was satisfactory. Mac and cheese wasn’t anything special. The crème brûlée was worth it. The birthday cake very nicely sized and not overly sweet. Parking is valet only. View was by the window, so we could see the beautiful waves by the sand. Romantic fire-pit nearby as well. Bartender was extremely generous in her Jameson shots. Fun to socialize with as well. Service was prompt and courteous. You can tell they are used to an older crowded(we are mid to late 20s). I could overhear and notice they spoke differently to the other tables nearby Dinner came out to about $ 170 a person, including tax and tip. Not bad for steaks, sides, wine, drinks, dessert, and double espressos. My biggest complaint is that at times the music would get too loud. They also have poor Taste in music(pop music such as Justin Bieber). If my Wagyu wasn’t cold in the center, and the music style and level was better, I would give it a solid 4 stars. 3.5 rounded up to 4.

Mastro’s did it again, another 5 star performance on the food, but our seat location was not desirable, so one step back. When you pay top dollar, you expect to achieve high satisfaction in all aspects of the experience. We came on a Sunday night to celebrate our Anniversary, which was nice because it was not super crowded. We had a 7:30 reservation and we were promptly seated in the little ‘tent like’ area just off the bar, smack in the middle of the room. This area has some annoying factors, the car headlights keep shinning in, and the red taillights seem to illuminate the room. It didn’t bother me too much, but I could hear the nearby table grumble about it. Another negative aspect is that you are not privy to a good ocean view, BUT, we got to enjoy the live music from the bar, which was a secondary benefit to the ocean. As for the food, the Heirloom Tomato is EXCELLENT: A+ The burrata is simply divine, and the tomatoes are all super fresh. The Gorgonzola Mac & Cheese was just alright: B It tried too hard with too much Gorgonzola, it was really dense and was on the verge of being a mac & cheese paste. Sautéed Mushrooms were FANTASTIC: A+ Great consistency and lots to go around, I could make a meal out of these. Lobster Bisque was the BESTEVER! Loaded with lobster and the creamy consistency makes this is must for any bisque fan. They lost a ‘+’ based on the temperature, it needed to be a tad hotter, but that’s a nit-pick, it was still the best ever with room to be even better, WOW. Sea Scallops entrée was also AWESOME! A+ I think they served 6 hearty sized scallops in an amazing baste, which was 80% butter, and it was heaven! 6 oz. petite filet was SCRUMPTIOUS. A+ If you order enough appetizers and sides, a small entrée such as this, is perfect. We were stuffed with everything we had, BUT, our server, Ryan T. still brought a complimentary Triple Chocolate Layer Cake to celebrate our Anniversary, which was so sweet it made my cheeks tingle. If you love chocolate, you can’t have too much of a good thing, but, this comes close. A grade. The service was stellar, everyone from Ryan T to variety of other people who waited on us — first rate. Mastro’s understands fine dining, and for me, they are worthy of the financial investment. If you have a choice, push for an ocean view, the ambience, day or night, will enhance your experience, by not having it I found out. :(

I was really looking forward to having brunch at this right-on-the-water restaurant(that used to be a Chart House and was awful). It has been lightly remodeled and is a very pleasant restaurant. It has a great friendly but small bar with a lot of locals, and beautiful tables right along the rocks and water. There were lots of people at the beach, and we could see them through the windows frollicking in the water, which was very relaxing. But I’m taking off TWOSTARS for the NOISE. Sooooo noisy. There was a bad singer with a small electric band. Granted, we were seated right below them. Ugh. The singer was off key and it was driving me crazy. Plus it is SOOONOISY that I had to yell to talk to my brunch partner, and since he is from Milan and doesn’t speak a lot of English, I had a hard time understanding his Italian because of the NOISE. Did I mention that it’s VERYNOISY??? The food was outstanding except for the fact that I forgot to say no salt on my steak and it was VERY salty. The quality of the meat was absolutely outstanding. Luciano had the NY steak(he says America is the only place you can get this cut of meat), I think his was $ 39, and I had the bone in Rib Eye($ 59)which would have been perfect except for the salt, or rub or whatever. Just too salty. The steaks don’t come with anything, a la carte, so you have to request side dishes. We had the sauteed spinach which didn’t taste very good and had too much oil. We started with salads and the salads were very good. Wedge salad for me covered in bacon(which I didn’t eat) and a nice bleu cheese dressing. Luciano had the house salad and liked it. The bill without tip or drinks came to $ 194. When we left, I asked the maitre d’ when there was music. She said every day at lunch and dinner! Bad news. I would never come here again when there is music. It spoiled the meal. If you come for dinner at 5, she said, you can be without music until 7. That’s the only time I would ever come here again. My Italian friend said the music must be so loud because Americans don’t talk to each other while they eat. That has not been my experience, I like to have a conversation, and I would not darken their door again when the bad music bad singer is there. This place is not at all as upscale as Mastro’s Beverly Hills, which I love, and I think I’ll stick to that one. They also have music in BH but you can get away from it. At the beach location you are a prisoner to the noise because of the small space.

This place is the epitome of a five star restaurant. It is exactly what every high class restaurant should aspire to be in terms of food quality and service. To start, the view at the Malibu location is stunning. I came here for a work dinner and luckily we had a table by the ocean. I was so distracted by the turquoise waves crashing down on the beachside that I forgot to pay attention to the people would brought us here. The food is absolutely amazing. A few of my favorites are highlighted below: Lobster Mashed Potatoes — Light, fluffy and filled with chunks of lobsters. I heard that this is a staple dish of Mastro’s and now I know why. I honestly would fight others at the table to have a stab at seconds. Filet Mignon — Juicy, packed with flavor and grilled to perfection. I just wish the portion was bigger. Pomegranate cocktail — This drink looks like it was created by a mad scientist. It is delivered to the table with dry ice bubbling inside the martini glass. The taste of the martini is even better. It is sweet yet citrusy all in one. I loved it so much that I ordered a second one. Caramel Butter Cake — The best dessert on the menu and on this planet. I would come back here simply for the butter cake. It is a large portion so one order is enough for the whole table. It is so warm and gooey on the inside that I want to cry. Once you take a bite, it immediately melts in your mouth. Order this, it will make your tastebuds happy. Overall, an excellent restaurant that is perfect for a special occasion.

I’ve clearly been spending too much time in Malibu lately, but yay! Last night I came here and was blown away at the service and quality of food here. I love this Mastro’s location. It is equivalent to the Crystal Cove location in Orange County, which is a location I often visit. When it comes to Mastro’s, I prefer the Ocean Club over the other ones because I’m not a huge meat-eater/steak lover. However, if I am going to indulge in a bite or two of steak, it will definitely be a Mastro’s steak! I love that it’s right on the water and you can enjoy this due to their full length windows. This location is perfect for date night(especially at sunset) because it is intimate and quiet. I recommend planning your trip so you can make a reservation and request something near the window at sunset :) FOOD: 5 stars. The quality of food you get here blows most other restaurants out of the water. The steak is excellent, and coming from a steak-hater(sorry), that’s pretty rare to hear. Their Filet Mignon is always cooked perfectly and melts in your mouth. The Lobster Mashed Potatoes are to die for here — I wish I could have had more than I did. I love their Seafood Tower, their Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, and their Butter Cake. I’m not a huge fan of dessert, but I really enjoy their extensive dessert menu. I recommend the Crème Brulee or the Butter Cake. Their cocktails are excellent and they always have the best selection of liquor. This location was very consistent with the Crystal Cove location, so 5 stars for food. SERVICE: 5 stars. Mastro’s sets the bar so high for other restaurants and I think every server in the world could learn a lesson or two from the servers at Mastro’s. They do a great job of perfectly timing everything and they really make you feel at home here. It didn’t feel like a stuffy, pretentious restaurant and the server made a few jokes with us which kept the mood light. Our dirty plates were quickly removed and replaced with fresh, hot ones for the steak and ice cold ones for the seafood. AMBIANCE/LOCATION: 5 stars. One of the best Mastro’s I’ve ever been to. Nothing will ever beat my home location of Crystal Cove, but this one is a close second. I’ve been to the Costa Mesa, Beverly Hills, Chicago, and Las Vegas locations, however this one definitely beats all of them. The views are to die for and it’s an excellent place to take a date you want to impress haha. It’s dressy, so don’t show up in jeans or a t-shirt. Mastro’s makes every experience very memorable and I fell in love with this location. You won’t be disappointed here. For two of us, I’m sure the bill easily fell somewhere between $ 350 – 500, so don’t think it will be cheap! I will definitely be back.

This place is always packed! If you want good seats by the window. Make reservations ahead of time. We arrived around 5 pm(party of 2) and got seated right away in the closed off patio section. Mind you i pictured the inside being much bigger but was disappointed to see how small it was. The tall tables we were seated at were placed so closely to each other i felt like my hair was touching my neighbors hair(huge turn off). 4 stars for the service and the food! For drinks we ordered Hennessy Sidecar The Mastro Classic Martini Caliente Breeze I cant remember the name of the last drink the waitress recommended but it was refreshing and light! Beware. They dont shy away from putting liquor so get ready to feel tipsy. Food wise Husband had the 12oz filet(sucks im not a meat eater) b/c it looked delish! The steak came with a side of baked potato. I had the Spicy Mambo Salad(yum) and we got oysters as a starter. Now — –Here is my complaint!!. The bathroom situation is ridiculous! Its super small/dark inside like Nobu status and has 3 stalls with private doors. I mean common! Shine some light in there… Don’t bother dropping something b/c chances are it will be lost in the darkness.. The worst part?!? They have some lady worker standing around in there handing out hand towels… As if the place wasn’t tight enough! The sink counter is filled with extra garbage that nobody cares for.(perfumes/gums/hair products) women carry this type of shit with them anyway. Uh can you please clean out that mess and take the lady out! Thanks
