I loved our stay here across the street from the beach and the scenic hike is a must it’s very easy and u get a breath taking view from the mountain to the sea, it’s a place that has lots of shade trees but just be sure to take Miskito and nat repellent .you don’t need reservations during the week it’s very nice trees can use some trimming for our trailor to fit alittle more easly but if you are in a rent you will be just fine.

We had so much fun camping here! Bring your own activities(and LOTS off sunscreen) because camp amenities are sparse, but that’s kind of the point. This place is made to be a do-nothing-but-relax zone. At high tide, waves are just big enough for surfing, but boogie boards are a better fit here. Also a good launching point for kayaking, but be mindful of scratching your hull on the rocks that cover most of the beach. We lucked out and had very chill people on either side of us, so we made friends and shared food and drinks. Plenty of curious seals swam by as well. Pros: Camp right on the beach Picnic table and fire pit at every site Firewood for sale Outhouses close by — ok condition Relatively safe waves Cons: 0 shade so bring a pop-up Rocky areas on most of the beach No privacy between sites Very strict noon checkout

This is a great place to camp. There is a nice beach to enjoy & lots of trails. Campground is scenic(there is an RV only one, right on the beach & a tent area that’s in the hillside area(same elevation but with foliage). My only complaint is that the sites are too close together. My table & firepit were uncomfortably close to the neighboring site’s popup tent trailer & firepit(very small sites). It felt like we were sharing a spot. This would be an ok spot for surfing if allowed, though kind of a short beach. I bodyboarded far out on the waves, which were slightly too big(6 ft??) too be pleasant for that. I was tumbled around a bit when I accidentally didn’t dive under the waves & ended up where they broke. Or just could be that my board sucks. I saw a fin at one point, which for a second made me think of Jaws, but this area is not known for sharks, & I was far enough out that it may have been a dolphin(though it didn’t look curved like a seal or dolphin). There are sharks in San Luis Obisbo or Santa Barbara, says a beach review site I saw, so maybe it was passing through & got curious because I had fins on. It wasn’t circling but just swam by & popped back under. It was beatiful out there. I think there were some rip currents, so you’d not want weak swimmers out far, I don’t think.
