Sunglass Safari

Hands down, the best place in the Los Angeles area to get sunglasses.
Malibu is a place where you need sunglasses, and if you have forgotten yours, you will be reminded by the sun.
Such was my predicament years ago as I tooled down PCH on the way to Santa Barbara. I pulled in to a mom-​and-​pop collection of businesses to grab a pair at Sunglass Safari, thinking the selection would be mediocre and the prices would be sky-​high. Little did I know that I would be buying almost all of my sunglasses there from then on.
The owner, Edgar, spun stories that made you want to hang out all day. He knew his products, carried great shades, and — best of all — his prices were really fair compared to even the «discount» places I had been to on the Westside.
Well, Edgar has moved on to another adventure somewhere beyond this existence, but his wife Doris now runs the place, and just like Edgar was, she is knowledgeable and fair. I go here when I am looking for a new pair of sunglasses even if it’s a half-​day drive.
And then I go to the beach…
