History

Established in 2003.

We started in 2003. 3−3−03, to be exact! It was a race to open our doors on that date. Glad we did. Seems to have been a good thing.

The owner, Gillian Harris, had 2 years experience as Operations Manager running a different valet company. In fact, the plan had been that she’d run that company to learn how and then buy it. But she accidentally GREW it, more than doubling its volume and profit so, they refused her offers and regretfully, let her go …

Three months later, Valet Of The Dolls was born. Today, we are the most successful female valet company in the country. Los Angeles is the largest of our three branches (LA, PS, OC) with nearly 200 Dolls on the roster.

2011 will see expansion of Valet Of The Dolls to other states as entrepreneurs begin buying permission to operate their own branch in their city/​region.

Business Owner

Born in England, raised in Riverside Gillian Harris came to L.A. by way of radio. A 20 year run starting as Broadcast Journalist, at the legendary rock KNAC. Many years and stations later, she held the coveted afternoon slot at the world famous R & B, KACE FM. One of L.A.‘s most popular FM, Air personalities, her show featuring the stars as she rubbed elbows with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight and many of the artists she played.

On a break 20 yrs in radio, Gillian got an idea that has become what Valet Of The Dolls is today. The ONLY valet company with an Education Dept. focusing on precision driving, hospitality & traffic direction.

To quote a front page New York Times article (March 2005) about the company, «decorative, yes, but also adept with a clutch».

«I’m proud of our Ed. program!» says Gillian. «I love that it’s hard. Takes brain & fitness. We want ¼ inch driving precision — at will. You gotta be more than just pretty to be a Doll».
