When my friend first told me that she was going to a personal trainer, I was skeptical. I mean, who *pays* someone to tell them how to work out? Is it really that hard?
Well… yea, actually it is.
I’ve been going to see Eric with my friend for double sessions once a week for a couple months now. I’m sore for at least two or three days after our workouts, but it’s a good sore. He pushes us, but not more than we can truly handle.
I have had back problems for a good chunk of my life — scoliosis, spinal fusion surgery, degenerating disks, etc. I would have good days and bad days, but more bad than good. After a couple of months seeing Eric (and, of course, working out a bit outside of our sessions) I have a stronger core than I think I’ve ever had. I’m no longer scared of hurting myself. I am still cautious, but I’m confident in my own strength!
The first session I could barely do a 30-​second plank. After two months, I am already at 60 seconds and I feel great! I am in the best shape of my life (yes, after only two months — I was a couch potato before this), and it’s only getting better.
If you’re skeptical of what a difference a personal trainer can make, try it. Don’t go to your local mega-gym’s small army of cookie-​cutter trainers. Robert’s One On One only does personal training (hence the name, duh) and they’re pretty damn good at it!
