Stayed in forest meadows and this place was perfect! Spent the weekend up there for my grandmothers birthday and she couldn’t have been happier! Quiet and nice scenery, super clean with all the amenities needed. Even had left over kitchen supplies that we didn’t need to shop for which saved us money! Comfy living room and the TVs were really nice modern upgrades. Most comfy condo beds I have slept in so far! Close to everything which was nice cause I could just walk wherever. Bowling alley across the street so it was nice to go to the bar there and have some fun and walk back. Lots of parking, the passcode entry was a huge plus so I didn’t have to worry about more keys than my own. Will absolutely be returning, its the perfect little spot in my opinion. Management was very prompt and quick with any problems, which the only problem I had was my passcode entry I messed up lol, but nonetheless this was a great stay and I recommend MRBO highly.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at this rental. Clean, cozy, comfortable and centrally located. And our pups stayed with us and had a fabulous time in Mammoth — hiking, splashing in the lakes and lounging.

This house is absolutely incredible! We took a large group for a work retreat and it had more than enough room. The views are beautiful, the kitchen is huge and accomodates making meals for large groups, lots of different seating areas, warm fireplaces, etc. and it’s on one of the ski slopes! Absolutely wonderful place and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a great vacation.

Really nice pad that was spacious and clean. Super close to the market, bars and restaurants. Bus stop was right outside the condo office and was a breeze without having to wait long. Kitchen had all tools and free firewood was perfect for late night chilling. I will use this company again!

My family loved this place. This was our first time in Mammoth Lakes and we will always use Mammoth Rental By Owner to find us a vacation gem. First, the location is walking distance to a little village area with a Vons, sports shops and a myriad of little restaurants… oh yeah, and a Starbucks and Micro Brewery. It’s about 1.7 miles from Canyon Lodge at Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort (best lodge for kids) The town home was just remodeled, but the highlights included a balcony with BBQ grill, spacious loft which sleeps 4 comfortably, 2 bedrooms with full bath, and a family room with fire place. A 60 inch flat screen TV was mounted just above the fireplace, so we didn’t miss Kobe’s retirement game and Golden State beat the Chicago Bull’s record. Everything was super clean and tidy. The kitchen was stocked with dishes, a full sized fridge, coffee filters, crock pot and gourment cookware! Lauren went out of her way to make sure that we were well looked after, and she gave us an honest recommendation when narrowed down 3 properties to chose from.
Also an unexpected treat was the pool, shuffle board, board games, Wii and XBOX 360 with games! Did I mention the welcome basket with treats? We could have happily spent the few days we were here enjoying the cabin and the faciities without skiing.
This place honestly exceeded expectations!
They’ve really thought of everything and the price was right. Fight the temptation to room at the Westin, and treat yourself. We will definitely be returning.

We stayed at Mountain Shadow for spring break week 2016 (3⁄29 Checkout) The management company, booking and accommodations were great. We got a super unit 1BR + huge sleeping loft with 2 queen beds. Everything was as advertised and high end. The unit was in superb condition and clean — for that I do not mind the cleaning fee at all! Great sound and video systems + a pellet stove. This place is located off Old Mammoth Road near shopping, restaurants (Rafter /​Grumpy’s are walking distance for reference) so you do need to drive or hop on the convenient bus out front to go skiing. Warming Hut 2 (Canyon Lodge) are nearby and Eagle Lodge is the closest plus super easy and quiet to get on the mountain.
Combination key locks make getting settled really EZ, Close trash drop off and spa clinched the deal for us and we will request the same spot again winter or summer.

I was super impressed with the Snow Creek unit we stayed in — #9. It was beautiful and really close to the ski hill. The management office was very responsive to everything. I have never used this company before but definitely will be the next time we return to Mammoth (which should be soon!)

We stayed at the Woodlands Unit 42 on 3÷28÷16−4÷2÷16 and it was spectacular. Very clean and cozy two story condo. The condo was fully loaded with big screen TVs, Play Stations in 2 rooms, dishwasher, oven, stove, microwave, and all kitchen appliances. The place was excellent and close to the slopes and The Village. The unit comes with 2 parking spaces directly in front of the unit. There are no stairs to climb up to the unit and was access friendly. We would definitely stay again. 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. All the conveniences of home right there in Mammoth! The unit has wifi, cable and TiVo. Fully Loaded! Great place at a great price for my family of 6. We had such a wonderful time, mostly because of the comfortable sleeping accommodations. All cooking pots and pans, and utensils were present with dishes, silverware. This place is a MUST stay for any large group or family. We used Mammoth Rental by Owner website for the best deal in town. Really good time that brought the family closer together.

I wanted to make our vacation a good one but was worried about renting from a company we had never rented from before. I had many questions and they were happy to answer them. In fact, we almost weren’t able to make it because one of us got sick the week prior and it seemed as though we would need to cancel. I was worried because I knew the policy. When I called and asked, the rep did let me know about the policy but also said that, if need be, we could reschedule for a different available date. They were quite helpful when we needed them (i.e., email issues, early check in request, keyless entry questions, etc). However, I’m happy to say we made it. The place was exactly as I had hoped it would be and looked on the Web site. It had all the necessary working amenities we were hoping for. They even provided condiments just in case we would decide to cook! The heaters worked nicely but the best part was the wood pile provided by them so we could build a fire. And the starter kit to do so was provided as well. When we first got there, we noticed the place was clean but there was some debris left in the bathroom. Well, as we were unpacking, the cleaning crew came in (they did not know we had been permitted to enter earlier than expected) to clean it up. We were all startled! Lol But we spoke and, as it turned out, they had done some renovations and they were called to clean it up before we were scheduled to come in. They got it done and they were gone in no time. I do love how it’s so close to shopping places, restaurants, attractions, the mountain, etc. The morning after we got there, we were snowed in. Everything we needed for a winter’s day and night was provided so we were happy about that. I was worried about the size of the water heater and being able to take a good hot shower, but it was good. In fact, the water was very hot (good size bathroom!). We made coffee in their coffeemaker and with the provided filters. Dishes, dish soap, trash bags, extra towels, extra blankets, extra sheets, a sleeping bag just in case, big wood pile with fire starting supplies, etc, etc. I liked not needing a key because sometimes it can be lost. A keyless entry made it quite easy for us. All in all, we had a great vacation and we, not only recommend it, but will definitely make plans to return. Thank you for the help with the email issues and all the questions we had. Your answers helped us navigate around our new adventure lol.

The place is awesome! Near by the shuttle that takes you up to the mountain. The place was clean and spacious for ten people. The owner provides towels for your convenience and the kitchen is stocked with dishes and pans. I have no complaints, it’s a really nice condo. Ellie and the other girls were very helpful and answered all my questions. Mammoth was amazing !

We recently stayed at the Antler house. It was beautiful and walking distance to the village. The set up of the house with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms worked perfect for our 2 families. The washer and dryer were a big plus with all of the wet snowboarding clothes.

We rented a condo in Forest Meadows. As soon as we walked in we were in LOVE with the place. It was so cute and perfect for our girls’ weekend. We had a few questions that came up and the staff at the other end of the phone were very helpful! We would love to go back sometime :)

I have used MRBO quite a few times and we have never been disappointed. This last time, me and my boyfriend along with his fire crew stayed in Sierra Park Villas in a three-​story, three bedroom condo. It was absolutely gorgeous. We had plenty of space and there were no surprises. The descriptions and pictures are always very good representations of what we get. I know I can count on MRBO to give me exactly what I want. Will never look anywhere else!

I’m not one to write Unilocal reviews, but these guys warranted my attention.
1) Management office was incredibly courteous, articulate, patient and helpful.
2) Passcode entry as opposed to a key entry into our unit is brilliant. We had multiple parties staying in our space, all coming and going at different times, up the mountain and down. Not having to distribute keys was a great convenience.
3) Ample heating, fireplace was effective, and space was clean. Only complaint is the walls have poor insulation, but there is every means of which to make up for that.
4) Bathroom was spacious, and exactly what one could ask for. Enough hot water for around 2 – 3 consecutive showers, assuming you were efficient.
5) Jacuzzi was close enough to run barefoot to, which made for a good personal challenge. Laundry room is on site as well.
Krystal Villa East simply functions as advertised. A very seamless check in and check out. No tricks here! I would highly recommend their facilities to any frequenters of Mammoth Lakes. We were also late by about an hour and a half to leave, which I obviously would not recommend, but management was understanding despite the maids’ need to service the facilities. They did not charge us an additional fee, on the understanding that we would leave ASAP. They were not rude or forceful about this request, either. They simply did it right.

Unlike other property where only want to make money, the rental give me the chance to book for a short stay. The check in was easy and smooth, the cabin is clean and organized, the only issue I have is the bed was too soft!

Very good Cabin (Unit D15 off of Old Mammoth Road and Sierra Nevada road) in Mammoth. I had three issues pop up. (1) Comforter was not washed; (2) bathroom sink drain was not working; (3) I got locked out as I left my code in the unit. Ashley and one other employee at the management company addressed all of my issues immediately, upon calling. Other than that, the unit was exactly as advertised, very clean and had a great amount of amenities. Also very centrally located in Mammoth. Definitely recommend renting from this company.

We recently rented Helios North #11 from MRBO. This was our first time renting through this organization. The process was very easy online and the unit was exactly as promised. In fact, it was better than promised!
During our stay we had a couple of occasions to contact MRBO for minor issues. There was always a friendly voice to answer the phone and our issues were resolved promptly. I have nothing but good things to say about MRBO and in particular the unit that we chose. I will be using them again. Oh, and by the way, I have been coming up to Mammoth for 30 years and have used many different agencies over the years.

We just came back from a week long vacation in Mammoth. We booked a very nice cabin in Snowcreek and everything was done online without any issues. I’ve been in travel industry for almost 15 years and I can say that everything was done properly. The only thing I would prefer is an option of a deposit especialy when a booking is made almost 6 months in advance rather than paying everything at once.
The cabin looked great on the pictures but was even better in reality. We had a child and 2 dogs with us and I was really impressed to see the little details (teddybear and books for the kid, toys and food for the dogs) included that really made us feel welcome. I would highly recommend the website and staff.
