History
Established in 1967.
We are a family owned, 149-room hotel, located in the beautiful Sierra Nevada, only 40 miles from the Tioga Pass entrance to Yosemite National Park. The hotel was originally built in 1967 by Jerry Buss, a major real estate developer and owner of the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team. It quickly became THE place to stay and a favorite getaway for many Hollywood stars. Every day we learn more stories of the history held in these walls, like stories of John Wayne, the «Rat Pack» and Jerry Lewis hanging out in Duke’s Bar, cracking jokes and drinking scotch until the wee hours of the morning.
