History

Established in 1983.

Area Access was started in Alexandria VA by Scott Hobson when he was just out of college. Through hard work and persistence, the business grew and eventually relocated into a 6,000 square foot building in Merrifield, VA just off Gallows Rd in 1988. Now, in 2013, Area Access is now one of the top mobility dealers in the country with locations throughout VA and also in Raleigh, NC. Our fully stocked showrooms offer several models to try and ride. We are a proud member of the Symmetry Elevating Solutions group.

Business Owner

Scott was educated at Northwood Institue in Midland, MI. Upon graduation in 1983, he decided to move to the Wash. DC area to open and establish a business helping the physically challenged. He settled in Fairfax County where he still resides. Scott still manages the business which has 3 locations with over 27,000 square foot of showroom/​warehouse space.
