Dominion Eye Care

I called this office this morning to make an appointment on my primary care physicians recommendation. To my surprise Dominion Eye Care does not accept Tricare standard. My husband served 29 years in the Navy to be turned away by this practice! Shame on you!

I am so sorry to report that I am changing my review on Dominion Eye Care. I have been out of town for a funeral and my husband, who works at a secure facility for the government and has limited phone access, had a flare up if his long term (Since Desert Storm) eye condition. He was told that ANY TIME he had a reoccurrence of this condition, to call, and the doctor would immediately call in a prescription, because he would be risking his eye sight if it wasn’t treated immediately. He called on Monday to report a flare up and was told that his doctor was out of town for two weeks. He explained that he was working on a critical project, but that she had said a prescription could be called in anytime. He requested a prescription to be called in. He was told that they would ask one of the other doctors and get back to him.
My husband waited till Tuesday (remember, this is critical) and still hadn’t heard anything, (by the way, this office takes long lunches so during the only time of the day he has access to a phone, their phones are turned off) he left a message. This continued until today. Evidently they tried to call him back today (THURSDAY) to tell him he needed to come in! But since he cannot answer the phone where he works, they called me. I am away for a family funeral, but was able to respond. I explained the entire situation. The secretary said he needed to come in. I told her that this had gone on a ridiculous amount of time already and he needed his meds! Additionally he works far from their office. She asked if I wanted to speak with the office manager. I said yes.
This is where it gets really awful!
I have never been treated so rudely in my life!!!
Dr Jacobs is one of the kindest doctors I have ever met. She is knowledgeable and I really believe she would have called that prescription right in. But this office manager had made us decide we need a different group of doctors!
She made terrible comments such as «your husband isn’t the only one with a job» when I told her that there was no way he could get there, and that this had reached critical stages! She CONTINUOUSLY interrupted me. And I even said «are you going to keep interrupting me»!? Which didn’t phase her. She kept right on. She contradicted herself. At one point she said «the LAW says if a patient hasn’t been here in more than a year they have to been seen». Then she said «your husband hasn’t been seen in ten months». (We weren’t asking for some narcotic or controlled drug for the record. It was EYE DROPS that he has had for a condition he got while defending our country in desert storm!!)
At another point I said to my aunt «This woman will not stop interrupting and being rude to me» and STILL she kept talking over top of me. Finally I hung up on her.
All we wanted was for my husband to get exactly what the doctor had said for him to do, to happen.
What a shame.

My daughter and I went here to see Dr. Amini. Both her and the nurse were wonderful. Certainly happy and will be back!

My wife went here to check on some vision issues at the recommendation of our primary care physician. Doctor could not care less to attend to her. What happened to treat the patient/​customer with respect? My annual checkups are going elsewhere now. You need to go to an eye doctor you can trust.
