If I had an option of giving this place a zero, I would.
My husband and I brought in our cat for a serious inflammation of his right side. Dr. Hernandez diagnosed that his canine teeth (upper left and lower right) had abscesses underneath. So they called for blood work and surgery. This initial blood work showed my cat’s kidney function in normal range. 2 and a half weeks after the surgery, my cat stopped eating entirely. We brought him back into to the vet to see what was wrong. This time we were seen by Dr. Johnson.
This entire visit, I felt like this diagnosing part was a game to them. We had already spent $ 800 + on the cat’s surgery. Now, they wanted to do more blood work to see what was wrong, which I understand. After repeated testing, first to check for diabetes, then to see if he’s nauseous, then to see if he has kidney failure, I felt the $$$ keep going up and up for one visit. Finally, we got the verdict that my cat had acute kidney failure. Basically, he was going to die. Dr. Johnson gave us the option of hospitalizing and giving him IV fluids to see if he recovers but this option would cost us greatly nearly $ 500. And with that, there’s only a slim chance he would recover.
Then, when my husband and I finally decided to not go through with it, they offered to euthanize our cat. How can you go from offering life support services and then right to putting my cat to death? It just shows you how much they care about just racking up the prices. All they care about is money.
Now, as I’m writing this, we are scrambling to find a way to put our cat to rest. I called this place back to see how much it would be to euthanize, they are stating a whopping $ 250! Before they do the procedure, they need to «examine» my cat. Why would you examine my cat when you’ve already did all the testing necessary? They have already stated my cat is going to die. How can you charge me that much when you already put a death sentence on my cat?
This place only cares about making money. They do not care about your feelings.

I recently had a bad experience with my previous vet clinic and decided to give PetCentre a try. The practice has great parking and the staff at the front desk was very warm and helpful. My dog is usually very nervous around strangers but the staff did a great job of putting us both at ease. We saw a young female veterinarian who took her time to explain everything to me. This was by far the best experience I have had at any veterinary clinic. I highly recommend them.

We’ve had three of my dogs come here. We used to live in the neighborhood but recently have moved to Bristow. We STILL bring them to Pet Centre.
Dr. Johnson, who has been the primary veterinarian for all three, has made every visit worth every trip. Particularly, his ability not only to provide good care for my dogs, but also to explain it all to me so that I always leave knowing exactly how I need to take care of them at home and that I understand absolutely everything prior to walking out the door.
Additionally, for our trips away from home, I let them stay at Pet Centre. I could tell from my initial walk-​through that they were more than willing to let me bring in personal belongings for each visit that my dogs were there for. Not only that, but the yard in the back of the hospital is HUGE! Not a whole lot of places in the region can say they’ve got that.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. This has got to be the worst experience I’ve had at an animal hospital.
My first visit, they quoted me for approximately $ 75 – 100 for my bill, prior to me bringing in my dog. When I arrived the front staff was really friendly and genuine. But the blonde short haired doctor was a nightmare. She asked me what I used to shampoo my dog, and I told her pethead (division of bedhead that’s specifically for animals) to which she glanced at her tech with rolled eyes. I guess she never knew they had a pet line? Secondly she kept automatically adding these tests on my dog that I never made the appointment for and when I went to check out, the bill was approx $ 300. She had such a pretentious and condescending attitude about her, but I figured maybe she was just having a bad day?
My second visit was decent, there was a brunette doctor that helped me with my dog’s stomach pains, she was very sweet and overall really nice, explained everything thoroughly and clearly.
My most recent and LAST visit, was unfortunately booked with the original blonde Dr. My dog needed to get rabies shot. But AGAIN for some reason this doctor pressured me into doing more things, and this time she wanted to shave his butt. When they took him back, I heard a huge Unilocal from my dog. Everything was normal, but learning from previous experience I denied additional unecessary (and costly) services. When I took my dog home, it was then that I noticed, that he was in a lot of pain. When I took a closer look, they not only shaved the hairs on his butt, but they shaved his SKIN. He now has a big red rash and I am beyond angry that they can’t even seem to complete the simplest tasks without messing up.
In conclusion, I’ve given this place three visits, and two of the visits have been absolutely despicable. If you love your pet, STEER CLEAR FROM THIS PLACE.

They overcharge. I took our dog here b/​c our normal vet was not open on the weekends and he had an ear infection that needed some treatment asap. $ 200 later (seriously!) I walked out with the meds that we needed and tons of recommendations that didn’t really take the health of my pet into account, but would result in the fattening of the vets wallet.
We have used them to board our pet and that has been rather successful in the past, I just don’t trust them to not over charge and gouge my wallet.

PetCentre Animal Hospital was my primary vet for my animals up until 2005. When Dr. Hendrickson moved to Banfield in Gainesville from PetCentre… I followed her. She was very professional and I trusted her. Well, with a sick kitty in my house I learned that Dr. Hendrickson moved out of state recently and that left me at a loss because she was my goto vet. So, I decided to return back to PetCentre because it was closer to my home in Manassas.
Making the appointment for my cat «Lil Guy» was fast and easy. At that time, I was concerned about my cat’s care instead of the monetary perspective. On 3÷28÷2012 I brought Lil Guy in to see Dr. Johnson. The staff was friendly and I felt somewhat at ease… still a bit nervous because I’m having to start with a new veterinarian.
Dr. Johnson spent several minutes checking out my cat and we discussed possible treatment scenarios. We mutually decided on withdrawing a blood and urine specimen for analysis and giving my pet a steroid injection.
I helped my cat back into his travel cage and went to check out. I was presented with the bill and was shocked by the costs related to this visit. I wasn’t happy with the fees but, kept quiet and paid it anyway.
The charges were:
Office Visit $ 55.00
*Waste Hazardous — Medical * $ 4.75
Senior Screen (Blood work???) $ 190.00
Injection (Medrol /​steriod $ 14.70

GRAND TOTAL $ 268.95
On Friday, March 30^th 2012 I received a call from one of the female doctors there (she spoke fast, don’t recall her name) advising me that Lil Guy’s bloodwork has come back and he has a dangerously high white blood cell count. She recommended that I have an ultrasound done of my pet’s belly to see what could be the matter. I told the doctor that I wouldn’t be able to because while I was in the hospital I had overheard that the fee could be $ 400. She corrected me and said it was over $ 600.
I just can’t afford that. So, I asked her about antibiotics and she wasn’t all that optimistic that an antibiotic would help however, she would prescribe Metronidazole to treat Lil Guy’s intestinal problems.
Today, 4÷02÷2012 I went up to pick up the Metronidazole and was charged $ 55.70 for what I believe is a two week prescription. I paid and left.
To make a long story even longer… I finally realized something that I should’ve picked up on sooner. When I was in the waiting room with my cat, I overheard a conversation between a female employee and Dr. Johnson whereby the female said that a woman had called in to schedule a visit for her pet and when the employee told her there was a $ 225 admin fee the woman caller said that she couldn’t do that and would go elsewhere.
I really don’t want this review to sound like a scathing poor review… it’s not meant to be. Every one I interfaced at this establishment was cordial and helpful. The only gripe that I have is I believe they are VERY EXPENSIVE.
If you find yourself looking for a veterinarian to help your pet… my advice to you is check around multiple places BEFORE your pet has a serious problem that needs to be addressed. That way you won’t feel pressured to do something quickly.
Secondly, when you talk to other animal hospitals, find out what their office visit charge is, fees for collection and analysis of blood work, x-​rays, and ultrasound.
It’s already challenging enough to see a pet you love sick or, injured but, it shouldn’t be additionally difficult if you have to pay «inflated» charges for their care.

This is a large animal hospital that also does boarding of pets as well. They seem to have a fenced in area that they will let your pet play in as well when they are boarding. I believe they walk your dog as well for you.
I used to take 2 of my dogs here. The staff is extremely friendly.
The reason I stopped going here is because it is a bit farther from my house compared to other animal hospitals (Battlefield Animal Hospital in Manassas is the one I most like). Also the location makes it a bit confusing to find. It is near Centreville Road/​Route28. since there is no traffic light there. it’s a bit tricky during rush hours. You have to wait for someone to let you onto the road. The prices are a bit steep compared to others as well.
