I guess their niche is ONLY unlocking cars. I called about having a key cut & programmed for my minivan. The locksmith I spoke with told me it was $ 95, or $ 25 if I provided my own key. So I ordered 2 keys and called back to set up the appointment. I spoke with a different locksmith (their dispatch system is frustrating) who said to cut MY key would be $ 95, if they provided the key it would be $ 125. Huge difference. In the end I figured I’d just bite the bullet because I need the keys, only to have the locksmith tell me that to come to Warrenton (where I live, and work, and called from) would be a (direct quote) «big extra fee». He wouldn’t define the fee for me and when I asked about someone who COULD come out to me he said he didn’t know of anyone. I offered to come to their shop, but both the admin lady I spoke with first and the locksmith stressed that they are «mobile» so I couldn’t go to their shop.
Very disappointing and misleading.

At one point last year I had called a few locksmiths to see if they could replicate a smart-​key, I was told that locksmiths don’t have the technology to do that and I would have to buy it from a dealer. I didn’t want to do that until this year I learned that Pop-​A-​Lock actually has been doing it for years. I called them up, they came to see me and had it done in under an hour. Really happy with the service I received. They were half the price of a dealer too!

Stop searching any further… CALL RIGHT AWAY! Their customer service is superb, their timing is on point, and their service is great. Other companies literally lie about their pricing over the phone to only jack it up when they get to you, not Pop-​A-​Lock.
Jeff was on time and super friendly. He went above and beyond and helped me with another door that I was having issues with for no additonal cost. Why trust a shady company with the keys to your house, literally, when you can get incredible service from a company you can trust.

I needed a key to be programmed and cut for my 2011 Nissan Rogue. Dealerships in the area wanted to charge me 150 for the labor and wait at least an hour. Called Pop-​a-​Lock and they quoted me much cheaper and came to my home. Alex called and arrived exactly as he said. He was quick and friendly. I felt comfortable with the entire process and the key works perfectly! Would highly recommend Alex and the company

Alex was great. We had a problem with our door locks, and could not get into the vehicle. When we called alex he was very helpful, but we still needed him to unlock the car. When he showed up, the key finally worked. We felt so bad that alex had to come all the way for nothing. He was very nice and would not except any money. Great service!

I NEVER write reviews, but in this instance I just had to share what is probably the BEST experience I have had with any professional in Northern Virginia or anywhere else for that matter.
My 90 year old mother. that’s right 90 … experienced some suspicious activity around her home and we decided it was best to have all of her locks changed. I made a couple calls to get general information and estimates.
Pop-​A-​Lock was quick to respond and when I explained the situation, the technician, Emanuel agreed to go the very next day. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EMANUEL !! He was polite, prompt, patient and I have to say, genuinely concerned about my mother’s well-​being.
I asked Emanuel to leave several business cards so that we could refer friends to Pop-​A-​Lock.
And to top it all off, their prices were less than their competitors. Don’t waste your time calling anyone else.

I think they did a pretty good job. The new lock they installed looks good. They were a bit late but they notified me that they were stuck in traffic and they finished in a timely manner. The only thing that I was not satisfy with was the receptionist that answered the phone call. I felt like I was rushed and I had to keep repeating everything. That was annoying.

We got locked out of our townhouse tonight and we called around to a few places and this was definitely reasonably priced and could get to us quick, said 30 min but was really 15, asked for our ids which made me feel secure about the company. Our technician was very quick, knowledgeable, and kind. We appreciate good companies like this one!

WOW! For the first time in my life, NO REALLY, I was locked out of my own home! I called my daughter at work and ask her to google a locksmith in the Woodbridge/​Manassas area. I called the number she gave me and was told it would be about 30 mins before someone could come out. Much to my delight (it is a cold December night), a retired Soldier arrived and had me in my house in less than 30 seconds. It took him longer to get his things out of his car and talk to my old dog, than it did to open my door. Jeff was very friendly, professional, reasonably priced and I highly recommend Pop-​A-​Lock. THANK YOU from a very proud Soldiers wife!

I called pop a lock and the owner Jeff was on the scene within 5 minutes, he worked his magic and in no time my car door was open and I was able to get my spare key to the house. I’m a baker and during a wedding cake delivery, I locked my keys, camera, repair kit and phone in my SUV. Hearing horror stories from friends who used other wannabe locksmiths I knew my one and only call would be to Pop-​a_​Lock! Thanks to their rapid response and lightning fast work, I was able to get the cake ready in time for the reception without creating a nuisance for the happy couple. We called on a Monday scheduled our appointment for Thurday with our Lock Technician Emmaunel, he was on time and very knowledgeable of his job. He was fast and very nice. We had never heard of them before, but I would definitely recommend them, and will use them in the future.

I hired Pop-​A-​Lock after reading their great reviews here on Unilocal.I was thrilled to get Sunday service at no extra charge. Alex did the work and even changed out a deadbolt that had a broken part inside. At first I did not understand why he did it, so I emailed Jeff (the owner) to ask about it. Jeff called me personally and explained the repair. Great customer service in a timely manner — I’ll recommend you with pleasure!

We used them on a Friday night around 10pmish. Jeff came out. He was fast, here within 30 minutes, knowledgeable and reasonable (considering we needed to get into the house). Plus they gave a military discount.

I’ve used Pop-​a-​lock for a year now and I’m so happy with them, I now pride myself in having «a locksmith guy» (you know, when you name drop when someone needs a door opened, «i know a guy»…)
My «guy» is the most professional and courteous locksmith. He is also very skilled and was able to fix bio-​metric locks that where faulty out of the box– saving me hundreds of dollars.
Recently I had my «guy» rekey our new home, in the middle of nowhere, uphill both ways. He was on time, just as courteous and professional. Prices are reasonable and service is great.
I definitely recommend Pop-​a-​lock for all locksmith needs, it’s very convenient with their mobile workshop.
