Tang is the best alterations store ever !!! I love that she support other local small businesses in manassas and never stops to ensure my clothing fits perfectly every time. I always get my pants tailored due my coke bottle shape. Much Love !!

I drove 40 minutes to Manassas after finding this tailor on Angie’s List. I wasn’t disappointed and quite the contrary was delighted. She exceeded my already lofty expectations from the reviews. I had three vests altered and a button on my peacoat resewn. Her consultation for the alterations and the handiwork for the alterations are second to none. Also, pretty competitively priced service.

The sweet couple running this shop knows how to do business. They’re great at what they do and they’ve built a great clientele that spreads the word of their business by their amazing workmanship. They even rush things when and if they can.

Great prices and very friendly service. This is a place where you can trust you are getting a fair price and quality work.

I take all my suits for blazer sleeve and pants hem here even though I have closer tailors where I live in Centreville =]. They waited for me even past closing which I am grateful for.

Taking my wedding dress to Tang’s was the best decision I’ve ever made. I am extremely impressed with the alterations she has made to my dress, along with the amazing customer service they provide. She truly went above and beyond to make sure every little part of the dress I wanted changed was perfect, and she was so easygoing about me coming late into my appointments and accommodated to me by scheduling the appointments past her normal work hours. I did not expect my seamstress to go into the level of detail that she did with explaining and showing me the different types of bustles and other aspects of wearing the dress. I learned a lot from her tips and tricks and she really built my confidence for how I will handle my dress/​veil on the wedding day. She provides a customized experience and is wonderful to work with! To top it off, the price she gave me for the alteration was way more affordable than the quote Jeanette’s Bride ‘N Boutique provided me (where I bought my dress). I am so thankful to have found her on Unilocal and would recommend her to every bride.

Repaired a rip in a pair of my husband’s suit pants very well, especially considering that it was in a pretty bad spot and very noticeable. They did a nice job and I wouldn’t hesitate to return with any repairs or alterations again.

I came to Tang’s alterations because I heard she was the absolute bests! I brought my grandmothers wedding dress, because I wanted to incorporate it into my big day. We first started with special customization of my grandmothers dress to update the style, and make it fit me. After working, we got to a point where the beautiful aged material was no match for more fresh material. So instead in the same style of my grandmothers dress, Tang made a custom fit dress for me to wear down the aisle and I used my grandmothers dress as my reception/​getaway dress. My dress was stunning and I am totally in love with it! I got so many compliments and «where did you buy that» My forever wedding dream was to have a unique dress that no one had, and with a smile through my indecision about so much she made my wedding dreams come true. I absolutely love Tang and her shop. And she gained a customer for life! I have sent several friends to her shop because tang has the attention to detail and expertise like I have never seen before!

Great service. She is very quick but cares greatly about her work and wants you to be satisfied about what you have changed. I had a dress that needed a lot of changes from shoulders, bodice, and dress length. Currently waiting for the changes to happen so this review will be updated. Even seeing the pinned results I was very happy with the changes. Each individual change isn’t expensive but all together was high. I was allowed to pay half now and half when I pick up. Super nice. Defiantly worth the drive

I am so glad that someone recommended me to this place. I will be a client for life. I brought in my wedding dress and a reception dress to be altered. I had the best experience. She did a wonderful job with my wedding dress as it had a lot of detail and I lost quite a bit of weight since I originally ordered it. She had to take it in quite a bit, I seriously couldn’t tell she did a thing to it. It was perfect. Then she cut my reception dress in the front to make it a high/​low dress and took that one in too and that one came out amazing as well! I received so many compliments on both dresses. She not only does amazing work, but she has a genuine interest in what is going on in your life and a passion for what she does. I will be bringing back anything I need to have altered to her, even if it’s something small because she made such an impression on me. I was so impressed with her work and her personality that I wouldn’t ever want to go anywhere else. I love her work and how she makes her clients feel. I truly feel she is the best in the business. You want a professional you can trust with your clothes and valuables such as wedding attire — look no further! She is better than perfect! :) I also love the gentleman that works there too, he is so sweet and kind.

I have went here to do alteration for my friend. the owner she is extremely amazing! I would definitely recommend it I am going to her to get mine done for my gown! she very busy so if you are bride need to get appointment of anything else just come she very flexible and understand your need and do anything for the bride to be comfortable and price are amazing! love her!

I had my Mother of the Bride Dress altered and they were Professional and Affordable. I will go back anytime I need alterations. They also mend/​repair things. They are so friendly and love what they do. Its nice to do business with people that love their job!

These guys are the first result for alterations shop in my area, and I had a pair of suit pants with a busted seam that needed to be repaired. So, one Saturday morning I stopped by in hopes of mending said seam. Tang’s is a little place in the same shopping center as Jukebox Diner on Sudley near Manassas hospital.
The kind gentleman working the counter was very friendly and immediately went in the back to see if they could accommodate my difficult schedule and short time frame. Five minutes later, I walked out with fixed britches and a good feeling about the place. They refused my tip, too, which was classy.

Amazing, amazing, amazing!!! I am so glad I drove nearly three hours to get my wedding dress altered at Tangs Alterations. I had a lace back on my dress, and wanted a modesty panel to be put in because I was uncomfortable with my skin showing. Well, with a expensive wedding dress, I was so extremely nervous I was actually afraid to go pick up my dress. I was terrified that they wouldn’t be able to match my skin tone and it would look obvious and out of place. Boy, was I wrong. She did such a good job, not a single person noticed I had nude fabric under the lace on my dress.
I assure you that Tang’s Alterations will exceed your expectations.

My friend was getting married and the bolero to cover her dress was handmade and shipped from Poland. The dimensions were incorrect and we only discovered it the day before her wedding. I trusted my Unilocal sources and called Tang’s around 1pm. We got it there and would have been able to pick it up at 8pm that evening (3 hours after regular business close). We were setting up for the reception and didn’t realize we were running late. I called and was able to pick it up the next morning. Crisis averted– this place is legit. They seem super busy but on point. I can’t say enough how grateful we were of the super quick service and friendliness of the business owners.

I brought three full suits here to get tailored. I noticed a mistake with the stitching in one of the suit arms and paints around the waist. They fixed it in less than ten minutes. I have been wearing the suits everyday for a year and everything has held-​up. The woman who assisted me said I could bring the clothes in if anything ripped at no charge. They also have the best price in NOVA.
I would recommend to check the stitching before you leave the store. They even tell you to try the clothes on, which I thought was a no brainer, but saw multiple people just come to pick up. Even a woman whose wedding was the next day just took the dress.
Staff is friendly and helpful.

XIAO-​YIN is amazing at her craft — she does an amazing job at altering wedding gowns. I asked several friends where to go to get my dress altered before my wedding. Tangs came HIGHLY recommended from several people I trust, so I scheduled an appointment to have a fitting done. With limited time before my italian wedding, she was able to get my gown altered in about two weeks, at a fraction of the cost of what most other tailors were going to charge.
She made me feel extremely comfortable through the whole process, and even helped me pack up my dress so there would be minimal wrinkling while traveling to my destination wedding (i.e. fitting it in a carry-​on suitcase).
I would highly recommend her for ALL alteration needs, including every-​day alterations, and suit tailoring

I highly recommend Tang’s. I took several of my suits there for alterations and received complements that they suits now look like higher end designer suits. They do high quality work at a very reasonable price. They are also professional and have the suits ready by when they promised.

I decided to check this place out after reading the reviews here on Unilocal.
Back story: I was asked to be in my best friends wedding that was in Tennessee and I did not have time to travel back and forth to go to dress fittings etc. so my best friend ordered me a larger size dress and shipped it to me. I needed it sized and altered MAJORLY… so, I took it to tangs.
She was amazing with helping size it perfectly and she was so attentive. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE HER…
What i do not like however… is the fact she knew when the wedding was and told me to come pick the dress up a week from the day I brought it in. I went in the next day, Friday, because I couldn’t make it Thursday. Well when I went in, they told me that the dress wasn’t ready… What do you mean its not ready… its a day AFTER I was told to come get it… I said okay I will come saturday at 10am, just like the man told me to.
That Saturday I go in at 10am and the man then tells me that the dress won’t be ready until 2pm on Saturday… Are you kidding me?! Tangs is not close to me and with traffic etc. it takes about 35 minutes to get from my house to Manassas… So its not like its easy for me to just keep coming back when it is out of my way.
I couldn’t make it in time on Saturday so I had to wait til Monday, many days after I was told my dress would be guaranteed to be done… I go in Monday at noon… He then has the audacity to tell me that the dress isn’t ready yet because he hasn’t steamed it or pressed it… REALLY??? After you told me the dress would be guaranteed THURSDAY and I come in MONDAY you still haven’t pressed it?! For the money I paid for it to be done Thursday, only to drive back and forth and back and forth out of my way several times to find out it wasn’t done, I wasted more money in gas and precious time, I would say I definitely did not get my moneys worth.
Her work though, was amazing and she did a really great job… I just wish if they tell you something is going to be done on one day AND you pay extra, that it would actually be ready THE DAY THEY SAID IT WOULD BE DONE…

After going to one of the WeddingWire winning places, and getting a quote for $ 630 for alterations (like double the cost of my dress… lol), I was on the hunt for a reasonable and quality alterations business. Jeanette’s Bridal in Manassas recommended Tang’s, and I read all the excellent reviews on
, so decided to give it a go.
The first visit, I tried on my dress. Xiao-​Yin saw how it was fitting on me, and asked about the venue for the wedding & reception to see whether it would be best to hem the dress or not. We decided to hem since I may be outside some for pictures – and this way, the dress doesn’t get as dirty on the bottom. She showed me two different styles of bustle and I chose the waterfall one. We looked at everything in the mirror. She did the initial cuts for the hem while I was there and in my shoes to get an effective length going. I was super impressed with her professionalism and skill, then when I got the quote for $ 90 for bustle and hem, I was in heaven. :)
I picked the dress up today, tried it on, and she showed one of my bridesmaids how to do the bustle, as I watched too in the mirror. Everything at Tang’s was smooth, simple, and easy! Definitely go there! If I have any alteration needs in the future, I will be returning! :)
