History

Established in 2004.

In 2004, owners Rick Thomas and Dave Holmes founded Thomas Custom Builders after identifying a need for qualified home improvement and general contractors in the rapidly expanding Northern Virginia suburbs.

Prior to founding Thomas Custom Builders, Rick owned one of the DC area’s largest carpentry, drywall and metal framing firms where he employed a staff of more than 300 and boasted an impressive portfolio that even included work at Camp David. As one of the company’s key project managers, Dave was responsible for significant projects including work at stores in the Mall of America.

Today, Rick and Dave – who both live in Manassas — put their significant experience to work for homeowners throughout Northern Virginia. Carpenters by trade, their first-​hand knowledge of general contracting, sub-​contracting and client needs coupled with their creative approach make them the smart choice for any home improvement, home remodeling or design/​build project.
