Total Wine & More

This store stands out for the friendly, professional, ADULT staff. Much, much better than what I’ve encountered at their Fairfax location. Also it is hard to beat their selection and product knowledge. Their prices are not always competitive compared to grocery stores such as Giant, if you can find what you want there. But overall their prices are very fair. Also the store is small and dark compared to other Total Wines, which keeps it under 5 stars.

Great selection and good prices. AND good service for those of us who needed help…

Had to stop by to see how this place was. The wine election was good and the customer service was good. I would return.

I was going to give this location 2 stars or less based on the female managers attitude toward my mom and I. My mom wanted to buy a couple new rose and I wanted to check out a new Cab. After looking around for a few minutes and no one coming over to ask if we needed help, we headed over to the front to find a female manager sitting at a computer and when asked where the rose was located at she stated in an extremely snotty and rude way «um aisle 3, down on the left» just her tone and the way she looked at us like we were stupid to come up and ask her, it was just very very rude. You think she come and help, make some suggestions but no. Once we got to the rose section and after looking for a few minutes another manager, James came up very friendly asking what he can help us find and he had great suggestions and you could just tell he really loved his wines and had great knowledge about each style. After picking out a few, I told him I was interested in a Cab with a bold body that really packed flavor and he didn’t hesitate to know which one. He was great and James will make me come back to this location again. If it wasn’t for him and his professionalism and general niceness I honestly would have taken my business somewhere else. I highly recommend this location, go and ask for James !

I was looking for a six pack of Legend Lager. This total wine sold me a six pack that was almost 1 year old. The date on the six pack was 05÷18÷14. I tasted nothing but foam. This place keeps old beer on the shelf.

Total Wine was my main place to get craft beer while in CA. So to come to VA and find this near me made me very happy. They have great selection and I like to just stop in to see what new special beers they have. Nice staff too.

Obviously a ton of wine there, but that’s not my interest. They had a large selection of craft beer, both national and regional breweries. Even had some singles you could purchase.

I have been to this store several times and have always been happy with the service, even if I was not happy with my choice in beverage. I am not a beer snob but every once in a while I want to try something totally different that I cannot find in the grocery store. I am always overwhelmed by the choices in here. They have a huge selection of craft beers and a little bit smaller section of international beers. The prices are a little bit higher than grocery stores for domestic beers but why would someone come to this store and buy a domestic? The keg selection is great also. Many different sizes and many different varieties of beers. The wine selection is also huge, taking up a majority of the store, but I have never bought wine from here so I can not speak to that. Everytime I have been in the store there has been a tasting of some kind. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. The lines move very quickly and I never wait more than a few minutes to pay.

decent selection/​size. Sells out of special releases just as fast as all the other ones. Every once in a while they’ll still have something left and I’ll trek on over to pick it up.

Came in looking for a specific beer, Starr Hill The Gift. Didn’t see it on the shelf, but one of the guys working there grabbed us a full case out of the back. He was super nice and helpful. Thank you!

Its pretty sad but good when you walk in, they are already reaching for your bottle from the shelf!!! Thank you guys, you are the best, sorry I don’t remember everyone’s name that works there, thank you Jason, and Ashley and the rest of the crew for being the best… This is not the biggest Total Wine, but certainly the coziest.

Confession: I did not have high hopes for this place when I drove up… it looks small and seedy from the outside. But! Inside is awesome! Not only is it large inside (insert size matters joke here) but when I asked for help and explained my tastes & what I was looking for I was directed to THE WINE! as in… the fellow I consulted with hit the nail right on the head. Great recommendation, super helpful (and cute!) Staff and good prices! Thanks y’all.I will be back for sure!

The one in Fairfax is better sure but this one serves its purpose. Gets really crowded around the holidays. While its small it still has great selection. Staff is always knowledgeable and helpful. Its just so dang small.

I heard grand things about Total Wine, and those things were half correct. The selection is real decent for such a prohibition friendly state. I saw Krombacher and Stiegl (my favorite European commercial light-​bodied beers) and even Sea Dog (a Maine classic)…hard to get a lot of the stuff you like in a case… and there is no discount when you buy a case.
I will go back when I have a hankerin’ for a $ 9 – 10 six pack of the good stuff.

Quality, Selection and Convenience.
Not to mention great prices.
They have a great selection of import, domestic and craft beers as well.
This was my one stop for my most recent SuperBowl gathering. I knew they would carry the beer that each of my guests preferred.
I’ve been to several of those stores around NoVa and in Carolina.
Each visit has always yielded satisfaction.
Recently I made a trip to see family in SoCal, I experienced a most excellent 2008 CabSav from Darioush Vineyard in Napa Valley.
It’s a relatively small vineyard and somewhat new. They don’t ship all their wines so after doing some research on their web site learned that Total Wine was a retailer they use.
All it took was one phone call to learn they indeed had it on the shelf. After a conversation with Scott, I found what I was looking for and got educated on the significance of bottle size relative to taste and information on shipping as a gift.

If you didn’t get the hint, I love beer. And I love Total Bev … Total Wine and More. I said it all in my review of their Chantilly location … no need to repeat myself. So why do I rate this location 4-​stars and the Chantilly location 5-​starts?
Simple. Size and selection. This is a smaller store and location, and they try to cram as much in as they can. And that makes the store feel cramped and slightly disorganized compared to the Chantilly location, which is grocery store sized. This store is sandwiched in a strip mall. That also means that some beers that I could find in Chantilly just weren’t at the Manassas location, as I imagine they just keep less inventory with the size difference.
Still, the selection here is pretty impressive and beats anything else in Manassas that I know of. I still prefer taking a small detour home from work and hitting the Chantilly site, but if it’s the weekend and I don’t feel like trekking out to Chantilly, this is a nearly equivalent alternative.

We have Total Wine & More in California too and I hear the commercials all the time on the radio. Silly commercials brag of their huge selection of…

* 3,000 Spirits
* 2,500 Beers
Sounds like another alcohol warehouse superstore (i.e. BevMo)…it’s so much more than that. Sure, there was one of the broadest selections I’ve seen, pretty modest prices, plenty of local brews too, but most important was the level of service they offer… If you need a little help (my girlfriend and I were picking a bottle of wine as a gift), the staff is not only easy to find, but they are informative and «experienced» with the goods they sell. You WILL walk out of here with a bottle you’re happy with, or you can return it.
Who does that really? What a great shopping experience!

Three words: Ask for Marcia.
Marcia is awesome. I came in needing to find a good, but not-​too-​expensive bottle of wine for a relative I was visiting, who happens to be a wine connoisseur, and Marcia saved the day. She found us wandering around aimlessly, and commenting about the wines on the tasting table, and immediately came over to us and insisted that we try any of the wines on the table. We tried the chocolate wine, which tastes like a mudslide, and Marcia was willing to offer us an aggressive discount on that featured wine. We explained what we were looking for and she graciously and enthusiastically pointed out some of her favorites and some excellent recommendations based on the price range I suggested and what little knowledge I had of my relative’s preferences for wine. We settled on a nice Pinot Noir (can’t remember the name) and were told that if we didn’t like the wine, we could cork it and bring it back and they would find us one that we did like. Who does that?! Marcia really knew her wines and was able to tell us the characteristics of all the wines we looked and to compare and contrast. Color me impressed. My time at Total Wine and More was short, but educational and fun thanks to Marcia’s knowledge and good humor.

I love this place. I think it’s where the happy goes to, well, be happy.
There is a HUGE selection of wine, and a reasonably big selection of beer. Not being much of a wine drinker (I like the giant, cheap jug of Pinot Grigio, and that’s pretty much it), I spend more time in the beer section here.
One of the best things about this store is the build-​your-​own-​pack section. The boyfriend and I like to come here on weekends, and we each pick two beers for each other and one for ourself. It makes experimentation fun, and we’ve found a lot of tasty new beverages that way!
Drop by mid-​day on a Saturday for a tasting, and you won’t be disappointed!

As Matt alludes in his review — there is a lot of beer and wine here — as well as soft drinks, mixers, foods, glassware, cigars, and more.
Having said that, the Manassas location is considerably smaller than the TW location in Chantilly, VA.
I picked up some beer here this afternoon — two brands which looked interesting that I’ve never tried before: O’Hara’s Irish Stout (an import from Ireland) and Jack’s Pumpkin Spice Ale — which seemed appealing as we head into Autumn. It was not until I got home that I noticed that the Jack’s is brewed under the Michelob label — so it might not be as interesting as I was hoping. I also picked up a Romeo y Julieta Churchill cigar.
The cigar selection is fairly limited at this location — I wouldn’t make this my go-​to place for cigar selection.
All-​in-​all, a nice store.
